It sure is a part of the public court records.
Keep in mind, it was JK who did all the “leaving” negotiations. I’m sure if pushed she’d say Jk did all the board/Reno/training negotiations. JK has been acting as her agent for a lot of thing… he can’t now claim to not being her “agent” for turning over discovery.
Well, he could claim that. It would not be true but he could claim it. But the whole thing that started this thread is that Jonathon Kanarek, who is a lawyer, did not one thing when he got subpoenaed. He filed no response. Which seems so very weird.
I vote yes to bringing a horse back…
It’s almost weirder to me that he let his wife hang out there vulnerable to the contempt charges she’s now staring at. As an attorney, he should have foreseen this and done something to protect them both. Kirby, nor a lawyer, may not have understood the implications of ignoring a subpoena. He doesn’t have that excuse.
I have to assume that they have some reason to think they can simply do what they want and that includes not responding to the court’s subpoena.
So strange that some people would think this, but is there really any other answer?
I do hope that they are not tossing Kirby Kanarek under the bus like they have done with RG.
It’s funny - in preparing for my own deposition for next week my attorney prepared me yesterday. I was warned what would look good and what would look bad. It is therefore with a VERY fresh understanding that I can say the things the Kanareks have said and done all look exceptionally BAD. Like really bad. No wonder her attorney communicates legal papers in gibberish. Maybe he’s hoping that will distract from all the failings put forth by his position and people.
@Knights_Mom, it sounds like you are a different type of client than Lauren Kanarek is. You listened to your lawyer. You understand to hire a good lawyer and that they know what they are doing.
We are supposed to finish our trip there. And yes, while we are hoping to do a few farm tours in Spain, it isn’t supposed to be a shopping trip. It’s probably a fantasy for me to be able to sit on one and do it justice anyway.
Off-topic alert!
@LexInVA - I was able to find the 1981 BBC LOTR audio files and realized that yes, I did listen to them along the way in addition to the NPR ones. I also ordered the soundtrack from the London production of LOTR to give to a family member for the holidays. Maybe someone in the family will show me how to download the mp3 on my phone (if I have sufficient memory).
Summation: thank you for bringing it up elsewhere. I am going to play it for my husband during our drive today to see family. He cut me deep when he said he never read the trilogy, so this is payback.
You are so right.
It is apparent several pseudo legal eagle law & order addociados don’t comprehend the vast differences in a criminal and civil trial. Huge differences.
Thanks to all the real legal professionals keeping this thread and pertinent facts relating to civil trials moving along. Sincere thanks.
It occurred to me that perhaps they thought their esteemed attorney was handling the responses - but he wasn’t for one reason or another. Maybe he has been on vacation too. I hope he isn’t off on a golf trip with Judge Taylor.
Is he their attorney too? The pleadings state that no one has asserted themselves as representing Jonathon or Kirby Kanarek.
I would wait. Europe is in for a long, dark winter with energy costs going through the roof and there will likely be a lot of economic contraction as a result. People are going to have to start cutting back on frivolous expenses for luxury items like horses, so prices should drop quite a bit over the winter.
Golf is important. Golf with your favorite judge is even more important, so I can understand why you would assume that.
I thought, and I could be very wrong, that the lawyer whose name I have forgotten, that responded with that list of lies and inaccuracies was hired to be Lauren’s lawyer, not the lawyer for her father, Jonathan Kanarek, or her mother, Kirby Kanarek. I would think that since Jonathan is a lawyer himself that he would understand how that stuff works, but maybe not.
This!!! A thousand times THIS!!! What do you bet the amateurs will continue to argue this fact?!
Good point. To my knowledge, he is only LK’s attorney. I assume JK and KK use a different one. But if it is one at the same law firm as LK’s, then perhaps s/he is also off golfing.
Here’s a thought: Maybe it’s not the Barisone Team postponing as clearly there is nothing to gain by it.
But then we must wonder for whom do the numerous delays benefit? One answer comes to mind! It’s the Judge Taylor person and certainly the very black and bruised Prosecutor Schellhorny who probably can’t get over his slam dunk case went OJ in its findings. He probably can’t get past the definite likelihood that Barisone will walk out a free man.
So slimy tricks, “administrative delays” and other Bru ha ha abounds. The easiest check would be to check the court calendar and see if Judge Taylor and Schellhorn were in court adjudicating OTHER cases on the August court date.
I wonder if Google searches would come up with any other allegations of case postponing when it benefits grumpy State prosecutors to do so.

Is that how these things are typically done? Everyone hires a different lawyer from the same firm?
Having never done this I assumed (silly me) they would all want their own lawyer from different firms so there is no risk of a conflict of interest if something happens that requires finger pointing at someone else. For example - If Lauren Kanarek wants to say that her not moving out in a timely manner is not her fault, it is the fault of her father, Jonathon Kanarek.

If I were Kirby, at this point I’d be finding my own lawyer out there somewhere not associated with the golf tournament, since following the leaders has led to a) a request for things I probably shouldn’t have boasted about and b) a contempt charge being filed. But, who knows, maybe Kirby’s cool with that.
