Michael Barisone Hearing, Tuesday, April 23

Well said. Somehow via email LK managed to (way after normal business hours) to get permission to stay in the house, while the person responsible didn’t bother to notify MB. As far as he knew the house was empty.

Wrong. Evicting people was my job.

Step 1 is notice. Step 2 is going to court to file a petition which will state HOW you did Step 1.

Normally eviction takes some time but there is a provision for emergency removal in situations of criminal acts. This provision applies as LK engaged in criminal acts.

Removal could have been days instead of months.

There are provisions for notice of a petition to be filed to be either verbal or in writing. This tells the tenant they have X amount of days to do what’s being asked- payment of rent owed or vacatur (depending on the situation).

The process was started. There is no nationwide background check system. She was in another state. A full background check costs money.

This was never Barisone’s fault. He comes from a handshake world.

It’s Lauren’s fault. She was asked to move. She needed to move and her wittle feelings meant zilch to the situation. Her thinking she could fanagle a way to stay was ludicrous. Her parental unit suggesting she would train with MB again is indicative of the deeply held delusional idiocy that runs through this families veins instead of blood. My opinion.

And it was HIS HOUSE. He was domiciled there too. He didn’t “go” to HER house. He went to HIS house. Where she was squatting.

Exactly. just a visit from the police or just a written notice to vacate or pay up is not sufficient. It must be followed by filing with the court and ended with service of the final eviction notice. At least that’s how it is in my area, and it often takes as long as 90 days to get from filing to final service.

Could be done in 3 days in my state due to the criminal acts. My state and NJ are very similar in many of their laws.

Interesting. We don’t have that option here.
Although domestic violence often results in an injunction issued by the judge at first appearance so if they get a bond and if they make bond they get out with no house to go back to. That always kind of amused me.

Orders of protection to exclude are often given out based solely on ex parte petition.

We have those too for situations when there hasn’t been an arrest or other police involvement.
I just take a perverse glee when the judge issues it at first appearance for these buttheads. It’s pretty standard here in DV cases with arrests.

Hmm…
Usually when the thread goes to knocking MB or praising LK it means something not nice is happening to LK.
I wonder what the bad news for LK is!

Maybe a lawyer informed her that suing CBS over the 48 Hours episode is an exercise in futility?

Preview of the script for the 48 Netflix thingee?

I doubt they give her any kind of preview. She signs a contract, they do their interviews, then they create their documentary. I wouldn’t think they give her any heads up.

After all the drama with Baby Reindeer, my guess is they will take a second look at releases and contracts for anything that relates to a true story, and be extra careful. Also… they probably took note of Lauren’s public blustering about suing 48 hours.

Anyway, my guess is they made sure all the t’s were crossed and i’s were dotted on the front end. No previews of scripts or after the fact take backs allowed.

Let’s be real. Lolly Pop loves the spotlight and wants to tell her side of the story… again and again and again. She’ll participate even if they don’t allow her any script previews, etc.

This whole argument about Michael should have evicted her properly was hashed and rehashed years ago. Notably with a now-banned user. It got old then and is already old now.

However on 48 hours LK didn’t tell her story. All we got was halt halt and bow and they weren’t even her horses or the barn she was at.

LK also wouldn’t sit for a Disposition in a trial that SHE instigated. She only wants to tell her story on Social Media where she has admitted in court that she lies.

While it’s not Netflix, Amazon Prime’s dive into the Duggar family would indicate to me that no one gets a preview. It gets launched.
Both have ample lawyers on board, as does CBS.

I’ve heard that Lauren Kanarek “sued” CBS but you know what, that episode is freely available all day long online some 2 years later, I think?

48 hours has exposed folks a whole lot bigger than Lauren Kanarek, people with careers and children and good reputations in the community. Some raggedy ne’er do well from Jersey? Big deal.

Thank you. Can we not. Lol

Agreed she wants to tell her story, alas it’s a tall, tall tale. An unbelievable fairy tale full of murder plots and creeping ninjas.

I hadn’t listened to this before today. Kanarek case starts at 14:13 and runs about 8 minutes. The empathy for Michael and the disbelief of Kanarek and her ‘fiance’ is palpable.

That was fascinating. Discussing the trial before the jurors’ decision. Thanks for posting,
