Another possibility is she actually did not believe she wasn’t getting the training she was (barely) paying for, but they needed to drum up some basis for a lawsuit so, probably among others, they decided to say they weren’t getting the training and, see, we have a vet who agrees that [horse name] has lost muscle since s/he’s been here. Sadly for them, this vet wouldn’t play ball.

’d say the why is b/c she was being rejected and kicked out and suing him would give her a cover story about why she ‘left’ or, if people knew she was kicked out, she could lie and say it was b/c he did wrong and she was suing. Also, for grifters like this, one element is always just to get $ b/c they don’t earn their own. This suit was just harassment and akin to damaging a flat on your way out the door. Her ego was injured by being rejected and kicked out so she had to ‘make him pay’ and also hurt him somehow on her way out.

That’s just what people like this do. And she hoped the blackmail with the tapes and telling Tarshis about them would convince MB to settle this lawsuit so it wouldn’t cost the Ks much of anything to shake him down.

Also, FWIW, I read the ‘fall in the line’ reference as saying they have an illegally recorded conversation in which MB and/or MHG and/or other HH staff are talking and saying they will force other people at HH (staff, boarders) to fall in line with their position to get rid of LK.

This is something I wondered at some point, too, that they were actually only there to get a grift on, and see how they could make some money out of the stiuation, doing bad deals to keep the horses on the cheap, see if RG could scam MB out of insurance money coming in for repairs on the house, then doing a law suit for bad faith on the way out the door. I still would not be surprised to find out RG went back and turned the water on that winter which burst the pipes, but who knows. Its an easy enough way to damage a house. But I think the whole thing was a grift, not a well planned grift, but that this is how they operate, look for money and set themselves up in situations where they coul dscam somebody out of it. Then she got really pissed when MB wanted to get rid of her, and then she caught winde of how MHG wanted her out, and suddenly she wasn’t playing them any more, they were getting rid of her and she was pissed at MHG being so active in wanted to get rid of her and she wanted to ruin them, not just get money off them. Needing to win, I think it snowballed and everything they did just raised the stakes for her to one-up them and ruin him. As in “We were supposed to take him to the cleaners, not Him and MHG cut us off!” Something like that.

The last time I “scolded” y’all for saying RG or other sabotaged the pipes then everyone said oh no, pipes freeze and burst anytime. Now we are back to this imaginary scenario. It’s creativity worthy of LK.

Is it possible that the Ks are happy with what is, objectively, a really really bad job by the police b/c the Ks know something we don’t? As in, what really happened that day and that it not only did not happen as they claim, the truth would be harmful to LK and/or RG? Thus, the shoddy police work actually prevented evidence gathering that could have implicated someone other than MB so the Ks benefit from the crap investigation?

Yes, I always figured they were happy enough that nothing much was investigated, because an investigation done properly would have revealed more about what happened than the Kanareks would like. Its also why I think Jonathan Kanarek was at the scene. I think the police response to the scene was more of the same non-response to the 911 calls they had been providing all along, and a desultory cleanup and arrest of the “proper” person at the scene was what they were after, and Kanarek was there, at least initially, to make sure that happened.

I’ve heard the “JK was there” theory a few times now, not ruling it out at all, but wouldn’t that have come up in MBs trial? Unless he was inside and MB didn’t see him …

MHG’s dad was the only dad on the scene. Testimony by LE and RC.

I keep going back to this part of the statement by Mr. Tarshis in the latest filing:

This so deserves a ‘who does that?’. The Kanarek family seems to get lots of ‘who does that?’.

I mean seriously, the man was enjoying a night out with his friends and they, one at a time came up to him and insisted on talking about the case. So rude. So wrong. So clueless.

As the trial was about to begin, to my mind these contacts seem nefarious and calculating. I do not share an attorneys sense of curiosity so were I approached, in light of the upcoming trial, I would have considered it as an attempt of witness tampering and intimidation and would have immediately made a scene, contacted police and filed a report.

Right before an upcoming criminal trial you stay away from ANY, even the slightest hint of impropriety.

I am not in the group that thinks Jonathan Kanarek (@Inigo-montoya) was actually there at that moment, but my feelings on him not being there do not even slightly stem from the fact that the police do not have a record of him being there.
The police work was so shoddy, they have no idea who was there and who was not there.

Hey, I agree with you that Robert Guy Goodwin/Jim E Stark/Superman/Michael Goodwin had nothing to do with the pipes freezing and breaking. I don’t think anyone had anything to do with the pipes freezing and breaking. I, just like the insurance adjuster, assume the pipes broke because that truly is something that happens even when everyone plans accordingly. I know this to be true.

Aren’t you one of the people who insists words matter?
Ignoring the whole point that @Knights_Mom makes below above (about you being wrong about the timing of her post), I don’t think KM ever said that anything more than she had seen a post on FB where Lauren Kanarek said she owned a certain type of gun, not that Lauren Kanarek owned the gun that shot her. That is a pretty serious twist.

I can not be the only one who giggles as they think of the conversation back at the Kanarek table between people going up to talk to Mr. Tarshis.

First there was the debate on who would go up, because I am sure they all assumed that it would only take one quick amazing Kanarek conversation to get Mr. Tarshis totally on their side and understanding how they feel.
So Daddy, Jonathan Kanarek (@Inigo-montoya) got to go. I mean, he is the main organizer and the lawyer and all that. He can do it. Man to man chat with Mr. Tarshis and he will have him eating right out of his hand.
But, that must not have gone as planned. Darn it. How did Daddy Kanarek fail?
So back at the table Lauren Kanarek and Kirby Kanarek (@Seeker1) are probably reading poor Jonathan Kanarek the riot act for not getting it done.
Jonathan Kanarek does the age old, “Fine, then you do it!”.
So now the two women have to figure out who is going next. I am sure Lauren Kanarek wants to go but Mom (Kirby) Kanarek says “no no, dear, I will do it” and heads up to bend the ear of Mr. Tarshis.
But no, it happens again. Mr. Tarshis is polite but not receptive to their story about the incident. How can it be, he has not fallen for the amazing Kanarek story telling twice now.
Back at the table Lauren Kanarek is now really annoyed with both Daddy Kanarek and Mommy Kanarek. I mean, how can they fail at something so very simple.
Up goes Lauren Kanarek, full of confidence. Unwilling to give up. Spending 15 minutes trying every technique she knows, but Mr. Tarshis can not be swayed to their side.

The short time I “knew” LK she always treated horses well. I’m positive Symphony receives proper care.

I was going to say, from what I’ve seen, she takes good care of her hroses, or, rather, she has RG take good care of her horses, but really, I think she does do the best for them from what I’ve seen. I’ve never met her, but its just the impression I’ve gotten from online, once you edit out her ulterior motives and bizzare lies and ego, you are left with happy well cared for horses.

I just want to counter the argument here that LK really cares about her horses and takes good care of them.

We see in the texts in this week’s briefs that she was plotting to steal or destroy or render the generator at Hawthorne Hill inoperable to force Michael, his family and his employees off the property.

For those who do not own farms or do not live rurally, do you know why Michael Barisone had that generator? I guarantee you it was not for human comfort- it was to provide horses with their most important need- WATER!

When you live on a property with a well, power is required to run the well pump to supply the water. No power, no water. Simple as that!

What happens to horses with no water? Dehydration is a huge cause of colic.

If LK were messing with the power source on a government owned property or something concerning the power grid, she would be labeled a domestic terrorist. Would be appropriate in this situation as she terrorized Michael, his family and employees.

Lauren Kanarek only cares about her horses because they are a means to an end. She thinks they make her look a certain way. Sadly, there is not much you can do to hide ugly on the inside.

IIRC, there was mention of two men vaguely near the scene one was Mr Haskins who was on the driveway between the house and barn, but not close enough to see anything.

I wonder if he was “dispatched” after MB drove away or maybe he took the initiative on his own.
I don’t recall any mention of walking a dog.

The second man was a neighbor. If you stand at the top of the driveway, the house is on your left and on the right is a field. I believe this man lived across the road from the field and had walked over when he heard the gunshots. I think he had 911 on the phone, but he didn’t see anything either.

What makes everyone so sure MB brought the gun to where LK lives? Isn’t it possible he went there to confront her, she came out with HER gun and then as a 120 lb female wrestled with a 6’4 fit Male over possession of the gun she got shot? Not saying it’s PROBABLE. Am saying its POSSIBLE. Also the judge was inappropriate when he spoke. He stated that MB brought the gun to kill her. It was a bail hearing. MB has not been tried, there is no finding as of yet. The judge needed to say ALLEGEDLY.

You’ve posted proof of others claiming, like you, to have seen a post about Rugers.

You have not posted proof that it existed, that you saw it, or that others saw it.

It seems very likely that you saw her post about Walthers and misremembered the make of the guns. Screenshots of the post about Walthers exist, screenshots of a post about Rugers do not.
