It is possible to morph into an Olympic rider. I believe Charlotte Jorst will achieve that. But she’s insanely dedicated, has a great trainer, was able buy fantastic horses and is steadily getting there. I imagine her venture will have cost her $50 to $100 million when it’s all said and done.

Perhaps the elder K’s have advised the court that they are out of state until then and cannot possibly comply before they return. (Isn’t end of April when things are pretty much wind down in Wellington?)

Would that be a legit reason to delay a legal proceeding? Elective snowbird travel in the winter?

Particularly since they’ve already been ignoring/delaying for months and months?

I’m guessing that just being out of state wouldn’t be enough of a reason. It seems it would have to be something more believable, such as Major Surgery or Out of the Country (gee, where have we heard that excuse before?).

It is possible to morph into an Olympic rider. I believe Charlotte Jorst will achieve that. But she’s insanely dedicated, has a great trainer, was able buy fantastic horses and is steadily getting there. I imagine her venture will have cost her $50 to $100 million when it’s all said and done.

She also didn’t have a raging smack habit for several years that morphed into long term suboxone use.

The addict who hasn’t recovered enough to actually wean off the suboxone? Uhhhh… that person will never be selected for an Olympic Team.

I have been taught that people are either good or bad. Let’s say non criminal and criminal. The Good Non Criminal will always make Non Criminal and good decisions in their life.

You can see this with MB and the letter from prison where all he wanted to do was help others in the prison. In his life he has made decisions to help other people. You see it over and over in his life.

On the other hand the bad criminal type always make decisions that are bad or criminal. You can see this with the Kanerak family. There is not just one thing with a bad decision. Every single thing they do is a bad decision. Over and over again all through their life.

I don’t believe this. I think people are complex, sometimes make lousy decisions, and that MOST people are redeemable. While I think some may fall on one end of the spectrum or the other, I don’t think anyone is “always” any one thing. Even the Kanareks. Most people probably have at least one good bone in their bodies…

My take on it is that there are people in this world who are producers and decent, mostly honorable folks who are reliable contributors to a stable society. And then there are other people who are poachers (leeches) and/or predators (or both). The latter groups of people are completely self-serving to the point where they will commit crimes large or small to feed their own id and self wants. They care not one whit whether their deeds are legal or ethical or if someone else is harmed in the process. IOW, they are sociopaths. Guess which groups the various protagonists in this saga fall into?

(When I say “feed their own id,” I do not mean ID as in “identification.” I mean the Freudian psychoanalytical concept - “the id operates under the pleasure principle, meaning it has no regard for reality, constraints, or consequences.”)

This is also why the criminals seem to put so much work into their activities. If they took that work ethic they choose to be bad and put it into a legitimate job they could go far.

Eg show up for lessons and ride your horse instead of spending hours and hours and oh so many hours on SM. Listening to recordings, texting and bare foot ninja ing.

I see the obsession with MB’s relationship with MHG continues. It’s bizarre that LK, KK, and JK are all so sure that MHG was fighting for MB’s attention with LK. She was a low level ammy, why in the world would she be anywhere near MHG on MB’s priorities? It’s like some weird 12 year old’s fantasy that the ex Olympic rider notices her, gives her discounts on riding, and trains her to the Olympics.

You nailed it. It all comes across like a teenaged rider’s big dream…

And not only that the ex-Olympian notices her and gives her extra attention but that he CANNOT.PAY.ATTENTION.TO.ANYONE.ELSE.

It’s like snotty 16 y/o girls sparring with each other because they both have their gaze fixed on the quarterback. Except in this case, only one of them was acting like a snotty 16 y/o.

If the beast is still moving and I can hoist my sorry a** into the saddle, it will happen. I dont care what it costs. Not sure what level - I know a woman who did hers maybe 18 months ago, PSG, 80 yr old rider and 21 yr old mare. THAT was impressive! What I would really like to do is dumb down my freestyle, think that would be cool.

A friend once described being in proximity to a narcissist we knew as being in a contest you didn’t know you were in which had rules no one told you.

Alice Tarjan is another one who may possibly become an Olympian at some point. As things stand now, it looks likely that she will be named as one of three riders from the U.S. to go to the World Cup in Omaha in April. And since she bought her horses as youngsters and did most (all?) of the training herself, I doubt she has spent anywhere close to what Charlotte Jorst has spent in her quest.

A person has to ride well enough to be a candidate for an Olympic team before any drug issues become a factor in the team selection.

Although the drug issues could certainly make that less likely in the first place.

With respect to the dead horse beating of MHG not paying board: isn’t it likely her clients paid board on the horses she had there in training?

I don’t understand the Ks obsession even if she wasn’t paying board. She was part of the staff. Besides, she and MB were a couple. Why would a member of a couple be paying the other member of a couple? They were a team.
