How did you even know to search for Jonthan Kanarek?

The Jonthan Kanarek profile is obviously fake.

You are correct. There are a few other “Jonathan Kanareks” in the US who have LinkedIn profiles.

Many of them seem to be very successful professionally, so they also pop up on a simple Google search, along with lots of information about their professional careers.

One is currently the COO of a fintech firm, one is an Associate Managing Director at Moody’s, one is a Realtor with Sotheby’s…

Anyway… it’s interesting how legitimately successful professionals tend to have a pretty obvious professional footprint that is easily found on Google and LinkedIn.

But Jonathan Kanarek from Livingston, NJ?

Gosh. It’s hard to find ANY information about his legitimate professional career… you know… the career that resulted in him accumulating millions… the career that theoretically resulted in JK having the ability to support 6 horses in full time board at a nice dressage facility in Loxahatchee. Oh… and to also buy a half a million dollar home for Lollypop and RG.

I think records indicate they purchased that home in cash.

Anyway… it really IS quite curious that there is no information out there about JKs actual career.

As for how I found that profile?

I’m really good at internet searches when I am curious about things. Especially financial things. I worked briefly on an audit related project years ago and did some market research stuff, and a few other things along the way, before I became a stay at home mom… and I still have a few useful research related skills

Anyway … it’s no secret that I am very curious about the source of the funds supporting Lollypop and all her pretty horses who happen to be in full board in Florida right now. Because… it doesn’t add up to me. It requires substantial wealth to deal with the monthly cash outflow associated with keeping 6 horses in the situation where LKs are.

You would in the financial services industry. You presumably know a thing or two about accumulating wealth. Where do you think the money supporting Lollypop’s ponies comes from? The monthly cash outflow? I’m guessing $12-15 k. That’s roughly a minimum of $150,000 per year. And that is JUST for the basics of upkeep for the horses. Board. Vet. Shoes.

For the legitimate Jonathan Kanarek profiles, are those professionals a good generation younger than JK? LInkedIn is a networking site designed to help professionals advertise themselves for potential new jobs. Do you see many retirees with profiles there?

As to how you found the profile for Jonthan Kanarek, I searched under the name Jonathan Kanarek, and the misspelled profile never came up.

Once you posted the profile, I had to search specifically for Jonthan Kanarek to get it. It did not come up when I searched for Jonathan.

So … Jonathan Kanarek, as a retiree unlikely to be looking for a job accidentally misspelled his own name and posted that he was affiliated with casinos (but no other information), and you of the mafia suspicions just happened to search under the exact same misspelling. Hmmm.

It was Fat Dinah who originally freaked out, in concert with another usual suspect. One of them was super agitated over any insinuation in a portion of the discussion that JK MIGHT be connected to organized crime of some sort in NJ. Posts got flagged, and that narrow part of the discussion moved on.

There was a broader discussion of the history of organized crime in general across the U.S. and parts of Canada, and how different ethnic communities had been closely linked to it in specific regions at different times. It actually was a really interesting, typical COTH discussion, with posters from various regions sharing fascinating tidbits. But Dinah got outraged about the part of the discussion relating to the Jewish community in the mid-Atlantic region, and historic ties that this community has had with organized crime.

And… interestingly enough… this turned into another exercise involving threats to COTH in general, and apparently letter writing to completely unrelated outside organizations… such as the Loudoun synagogue.

Dinah also got outraged about people writing congratulations notes to Bilinkas… or something like that. And declared it was improper… and something else. I can’t remember.

What’s interesting to me now in retrospect, is that we weren’t even aware of JKs Linked In page at the time of this discussion, and how he now self identifies as an independent gaming professional who works at Casinos.

Anyway… enough said. I shall now sit and patiently await the inevitable reaction to this comment

I reckon the K’s income comes from the usual sources of retired upper middle-class professionals. Retirement fund, stocks/bonds, real estate transactions, etc. Same as many of our parents. Nothing worth speculating about.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that I doubt he will be suing LinkedIn about this. I think he would have to pay an attorney in order to do that.

I was wondering if he had a course of action against the person who posted it, knowing it was false. It does seem malicious.

There have been a lot of damaging statements of dubious validity about him posted. It probably doesn’t rise to the level that he could show damages, unless he argued that it was prejudicing the civil case.

I think you are assuming too much from Greystone! How can they prepare a report for a hearing if they don’t treat or meet with the patients other than handing them pages from a coloring book to color?

I think they call the coloring book stuff “therapy.” That’s just a guess. And… they employ just enough staff to barely meet reporting requirements for court hearings.

I would not be surprised if they still consider MB a low risk patient, so they put together ANOTHER report that says so, and present it to Taylor at this hearing.

That is certainly a different thing than providing MB with actual effective therapy. But sadly, for right now, I think the only thing MB should hope to get from Greystone are reports that keep on saying he is a “low risk” and suitable for release.

I think he can get much better therapy for his individual needs in an outpatient setting.

Anyway… my best guess is that once Taylor has 2 or 3 reports from mental health professionals, all consistently saying that MB seems stable when interacting with staff, and they think he is a low risk patient… I think Taylor will release him to some sort of outpatient situation.

You are making an assumption that I found this profile by searching for it using a precise misspelling.

That assumption is incorrect.

There are many different ways to search for information online. It’s not exactly a secret. Plenty of people who work in a variety of different fields learn quick and effective ways to scour the internet for open source information about any number of things. My skills are pretty rudimentary, and I easily found this profile.

I will say for a restaurant named with a pig in the title, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they offer an option to make a veggie version of every burger on that section of their menu. Yay for them.
