I would consider repeatedly calling people “fools”, “complete fools”, “really clueless”, etc, and generally deriding them in a condescending manner “s#!t talking”, yes.

The problem I have with that is that LK taunted them about a gun missing from the safe. So, CPS shows up about possible negligence and/or child endangerment; MB checks the safe and finds a gun is missing; in a panic drives up to what is supposed to be an empty house to look for the missing gun; and somehow there is an altercation and LK is shot. (We know he opened the safe but we do not know that he took a gun from the safe.)

Something else that has always bothered me about the shooting, was somewhere at some time, I remember LK bragging that she was so good with a gun, she only needed 3 bullets, and then she reported 3 gun shots. Just one of those things that makes me go, “Hmmm.”

I don’t remember her saying it was missing from the safe but rather just missing. My take was she was needling her about MB having it.

I was just clarifying whether, to her mind, referring to me as “clueless” fell in the same category of “shit-talking” as IM labeling posters as “fools”. Presumably IM has reasons for considering some posters “fools”, too.

Apparently whether similar insults are considered “shit talking” or not depends on who is lobbing the insult. I’m not surprised.

I thought her response was very clear that “clueless” was an apt descriptor given the circumstances, and not a random insult like “fool.” You can believe whatever you want and continue to ask the same question over and over again in hopes of a different answer. You do you.

Perhaps IM thought “fool” was “an apt descriptor” rather than a random insult. It was characterized as “shit-talking” when he so described someone.

But when posters lob the same kind of labels at me, it’s “an apt descriptor” not “an insult” and merely “cringey” but not “shit-talking”. LOL.

There’s a whole lot of shit-talking going on in this forum. Very little of it from IM. None of it from me.

I guess you missed the fact that Lauren Kanarek had violated the sanctity of Michael Barisone’s office, and talked about accessing things like contracts. If she accessed those things, what makes you think she didn’t access the safe as well???

Thanks to whomever recommended The Railway Man. I watched it tonight. I had no idea about the history of the surrender in Singapore. It was heavy but quite good.

I was trying (apparently unsuccessfully) to take this question out of the LK/MB universe, as to what the larger implications might be of this case if any. Thank you for your answer. Per your answer, the insane perpetrator/plaintiff, among other things, would have to show victim’s (defendant’s) actions were intentional and malicious.
