Michael Barisone/Lauren Kanarek Civil Suit

Question: Were LK and RG already a couple when she initially started riding with MB in FL? Also, was she (were they) living on the barn premises in those days?

No, @Knights_Mom, my statements have nothing to do with any premise “that she was a golden student, on time and present— religiously,” etc, etc.

Even as a lower level amateur, she “was owed” whatever it was that she and MB had agreed upon, and that seemed to serve both parties well for over a year.

If MB wanted to stop training her, at MHGs insistence, or of his own decision, he could have ended the training relationship by declining to renew it on the monthly cycle, or by using a 3 day eviction once things got dangerous and ugly.

He DID.

This has been the testimony of many. What you repeatedly and conveniently skip are all the actions she took to terrorize everyone.

I think I remember a post from a previous thread that said they were a couple at the time, but they were living somewhere else, not at the barn. Maybe in a camper somewhere?

No. The testimony of Tarshis was that even as late as Aug 5, Barisone wanted to “scare her out” and did not file eviction papers, 3 day or 30 day, with the court.

Both sides (LK and RG) and (MB and MHG) engaged in stupid harassing and provocative behavior in the week before the shooting. Both sides acted stupidly.

I don’t remember “her” saying it. Sorry. Left out the “her.”

Corrected.

Thank you for accepting my apology and you are right in your comment about not being in such a rush to condemn, sneer, and point fingers.

My lunchables says DO NOT MICROWAVE Does the fake meat and cheese explode? I can only surmise it means while in package but who knows? Do not judge I can get them for .25 each at our local food warehouse store and they make for a quick breakfast on days I work 12 hour shifts.

New Jersey state law does require a written notice to “cease and desist” the disorderly conduct prior to the 3 day emergency eviction order.

Quite some years back, I connected an FEI trainer acquaintance with a wealthy couple who were new to the sport of dressage and were looking to make a splash. They had bought/built a big fancy facility in FL and wanted a resident trainer. The job included a very, very nice salary (something pretty much unheard of in the dressage world), plus other benefits such as paid vacation, affordable health care coverage, etc. I believe there was also a nice apartment on the premises and a high end, late model P/U truck with all the bells and whistles. Unfortunately the dude tried to get away with some financial shenanigans on sale horses but got found out and was fired. (He bounced around for a while after that and got sucked deeper and deeper into a druggie lifestyle along with some other nefarious stuff, and messed his life up so badly he ended up in prison.)

At the moment, I can think of several trainers that are/were sort of “dedicated” to their patrons. Guenter Seidel, Scott Hassler, Michael Bragdell, and Chris Hickey come to mind, but I do not know if they were/are salaried or not.

No. LK knew she was unwanted before August. The texts make that clear. You are mistaken when you cite eviction law as if you know how it works. You don’t.

Besides that fact that most people leave without anything having to go to court. Court evictions are for those problem tenants who milk the system, want to live for free, are too poor to move, or are at war with the landlord.

LK was just a wealthy grifter with a convenient crash pad who pretended to play horsey like the big guns.

I don’t think JK is IM.

It is a shame to hear when one side or the other abuses what could be a very beneficial arrangement for both of them.

Interesting selection of “dedicated” trainers, all at the top of their craft.

LK wasn’t paying enough to be exclusive.

LK is a real life version of Veruka Salt. The difference is LK’s tantrums end up destroying others while her family continues to enable her.

I like that in the book & movies we never find out if she (and Dad) are incinerated or not. I always hoped they were.
