It always disgusted me that drunk drivers don’t go to jail for many years. It’s a deliberate act to drive drunk.

Weird duplicate post w/o the quote. Corrected below.

@skydy I love it! :lol:

It doesn’t annoy me at all. It is simply curious. Most riders I know will use show ring time for experience as well as objective comments from judges. Different strokes for different folks.

The pros frequently scratch when they get the scores they need, to save wear and tear on the horse. I almost never scratch, but that’s because if I’ve paid the entry fees, I want to compete in the class and not waste the fees. However, if you’re a woman of unlimited means, the calculation is different.

Some people just want to criticize LK for any reason they can imagine. This is a really petty one.

There it is - the experts weigh in - thank you! The closest I ever came to this kind of knowledge was Civil Procedure and that was cough a long time ago! Thanks for walking through this kind of information. I can only imagine all the complexities of trying to run the court system now in light of the pandemic and the fact that it will be with us for the foreseeable future.

The right to a speedy trial is in the Bill of Rights. States may have their own interpretations as to what constitutes “speedy”, but the right itself is in the Constitution.

@Cowgirl : I think most of us understood that you, of course, are well-versed re: the 6th Amendment right to speedy trial and were correctly noting that that right is protected and put into practice through state rule or statute that provides the specifics for each state. And also that most (all?) states have tolled the Speedy Trial Act in response to the virus crisis.

Again, thanks for your answer and input. These threads are most valuable when people share their professional expertise and experience.

She may be but I gotta admit, it makes for good ‘wake up, drink my shake, and convince myself to get up n at em for the day!’ I’m bored and petty

I personally am glad to hear that LK finished her bronze.
That is exciting news for anyone who does it.

@ladyj79 You make some very valid points about scratching that I had not really thought of. Coming from limited means so my ability to show is minimal, once I have paid to be there and my horse is sound and happy I never considered scratching. (Do not read that as limited money means I am willing to ride my horse into the ground, it does not say that at all.) This is a great example of different worlds mean different ways of doing things and now that it is spelled out it makes total sense, but not something that comes to mind instantly having not ever been there done that.

@ladyj79 and @trubandloki both have good points. I also wondee about LKs stamina and lungs though. Maybe it is still alot for her especially with the weather and the desert storms that have made their way over here to the US? This weekend was beyond hazy and my MIL was having issues breathing because of the lack of decent air quality.

All of that may be true, but it is a normal occurance for her to enter and scratch multiple classes long before any of this happened.

Who cares?

it is not your money, and it is not an unusual practice.

Yes it is for unusual for dressage riders. As I mentioned earlier, most want the ring time and objective comments from judges and the response was, but Pros do it all the time. No, they don’t and btw, LK certainly isn’t a Pro.

She entered a 3rd level class on Sunday that she scratched. SHE had mentioned she was heading for her Silver Medal in earlier threads. I found it interesting that she didn’t pursue what could have been an easy score toward her silver. LK has always talked big goals but rarely seems to actually follow through. My opinion only.

It is rumored she started talking crap about a braider at the show. The same braider who has an active warrant for her arrest for harassment. Supposedly, LK refuses to answer the door for the Sheriff Deputies to serve her where she lives now. No one is above the law as we all know.

As I said earlier, I am thrilled she finally has her Bronze Medal.

EDIT: Thank you to @dotneko for pointing out my error in the Silver Medal levels. It’s been a while since I had to know this stuff by heart!

ok seriously? You need a new hobby. Rumors about her talking crap about a braider? But didn’t you claim you had no connection to her at all
yet every post about her you are here bashing her and spreading so called rumors. I don’t get what the point is. People bash braiders all the time right here on CoTH. This is just garbage hear say trouble making if you have no facts to back that claim up. So either admit you have connections or admit you’re spreading garbage.

And YES, people do scratch at dressage shows ALL THE TIME. My FEI coach routinely suggests if you have two good tests to scratch the third to save it for another day. It is very very common so try harder to find something to whine about.

We get it, you hate her. You’re allowed to. But I seriously worry for your mental health that you focus on another person so intently even after all this time. That is not good for your well being.
