Monica Thors

The JUDGE personally notes:

pg 7

The Judge writes about Monica Thors:

The court also notes from its own observations in the case that the types of things that she attempted to present to buttress her own testimony, the backwards spelling and speaking, happened throughout the case, not just in response to the alleged stay violations.

Surely there has to be something neurologically going on? Can’t they do a psychiatric hold on her, to start the ball rolling to get her the help she needs?

Then swoop in & seize the horses for their own sake?!

I cannot remember where I saw it, but a harness horse person said they saw Monica Thors at a mall (this summer) & she was even wearing the helmet inside the mall.

Look, I pretty much do not care where someone wears a helmet. But in Monica Thors case, there is just too much adding up as what the fruitbat.

The first thing that popped into my head when I saw about the mention of her making the soles bleed, was Dr. Strasser’s trimming methods.

Is this woman thinking she is applying Dr. Strasser’s methods?

Wow, the NJSPCA Facebook page is quite the read. The Capt. comes off as a highly unprofessional. Can I say a$$hat & not get banned? As that is what I truthfully think . His minions posting do not come off that much better.

Agreed, the NJSPCA has had over a year to make a plan, yet they are still dumping it back on we the people? YOU PEOPLE at large have not given us a concise plan! What the fruitbat?

Somewhere in this Thread it was stated the Swedish money has been cut off? Where was that information found? Link please?

As a non FB’er, I really appreciate when links are given that I can actually see. Thanks!

There are comments in Swedish which translated are stongly advising she stop and get help.
If under those bandages and hoof boots are hoof capsules that are in various stages of being dremmeled off; there must be some serious pain meds involved to
force those horses walk let alone lunge in a tight, little round pen.
and if NJSPCA has had any experience with hoarders wouldn’t Mental health services be involved? So therefore; shouldn’t Mental Health Services be included in this investigation too? Just thinking out loud here.

I have screenshots of the money situation but no idea how to post them. On my phone not near a pc.

Is she Swedish? Facebook notes she studied at University in Sweden. That might account for her backwards spelling and speaking?

Yes she is Swedish. Not sure when she came over to the US

She’s been involved in the harness racing industry for years; was close with Ron Waples and has apparently been an equine photographer for a long time as well. I looked up a lot of stuff the other day but much had been removed from the internet yesterday. If memory serves me she moved to north america from Sweden in 1977 when she was in her late tees/early twenties but don’t quote me.

I am not local so can’t help with logistics/stabling. What I did, however, was to write to http://njspca.org/contact
that I am standing by to donate funds for their care if and when they are removed. I urged them to set up a specific fund drive earmarked for this, because I want to know my donation is going to these horses and not the general fund. i.e. I’m not going to buy their stinkin’ calendar

If you are similarly inclined (willing to donate to a case-specific fund), perhaps it would be helpful if you send them that message too via the above link.

I considered doing some kind of “GoFundMe” campaign, but you have the trust issue-- how do total strangers know I’m trustworthy and will get the $ to those animals. And again, I’m not local, so the logistics of disbursing funds gets complicated. Just thinking that if the NJ SPCA would set up that fund, more people would donate because they are an established institution and we can be pretty confident it’s going to get to the horses.

I don’t understand why it is the public’s responsibility to come up with a plan at all. So if there isn’t a plan set up, including accommodations and transport, the SPCA itself has no fallback? And will continue to do nothing? Where is their responsibility in putting together “the plan”? I have seen horses evacuated to fairgrounds or auction yards. As other people have mentioned, they could be cared for on site, or euthanized if necessary. Please remember that just because she posted the videos today doesn’t mean that she took the videos today.

I can just see what would happen if I sat around griping to people and doing nothing, telling them that I couldn’t do my job until they rallied and did it for me. I know what would happen – I’d be out of a job.
I’d like this comment 10 times if I could. We are taking about 7 horses here, not 70. They should be able to cope with that. How do they not already have contact info and links to shelters that can help? I don’t get it.
I realize the number of cats is far more, but that’s not uncommon with animal hoarders.

I can’t believe she still posts video and still has a facebook page.
One must go and read the top of her facebook wall.
It makes me feel like this is a down hill battle. WHY can’t the authorities do this?

I’m certainly not defending the Strasser method but I’ve never seen bloody stumps like that before.

I think it is much harder to deal with something like this than someone who is obviously starving and doesn’t care about their horses (but might be angry that you try to take away THEIR property). I have to agree there is some sort of mental illness going on and that makes me sad, I am sure she honestly believes she is caring for them, they are fat and shiny and she has obviously invested a lot of time into them (of course some of it in the wrong way…)

A few comments on the fb page imply that in the past she wasn’t like this which really leads me to think something is very not right. I hope she gets help and it is a shame it has gone on this long for the horses.

Is this another dead horse?

Oh no! Monica, why did you kill Princess?

Maureta nothing you hear is true, Princes died from a heart failure in her stall natural causes she was taken to NJ ag dept ,and an otropis said this , she was my heart as you know and I miss her terrible ,

But, I say Baker Act her & take the horses (& other animals) away while she is locked up on the psych hold.

The person posting under the NJSPCA (Capt) comes across as completely unprofessional and downright inflammatory.
That’s because all the nut jobs, drama queens, and grandstand goofs have come out in full force to join in Monica’s circus act.

Lots of handwringing here. Thank you to Hungarian hippo and lauriace for writing letters.
I will be calling and writing to NJSPCA, and the Atty General, and the governors office tomorrow. The more people squalking to the authorities, possible something will get done.
So,if you are sick over this, do something.
I do not live in NJ btw.

Anyone know how to affect her 501c stay puts as a rescue?
I have 7 horses I pulled out of feedlots…and I have been told I cannot be a non profit, so if I can’t, I am not so sure she is truly eligible.

He needs to stay off of FB and do his damn job if you ask me. Every day those horses remain in her care is one more day he is responsible for their abuse.
