I would appreciate if folks would read all my posts before reiterating a point I’ve already responded to. I would also appreciate if people would read for comprehension and try to understand what I am actually suggesting rather than strawmanning and attributing statements to me that I’m not making (i.e. I never said this situation was the same as a stray dog nor did I give that as an analogy, I gave that as an example of something I’ve done to help an animal sans any obligation. Nor did I ever suggest the OP should keep this horse, simply that it wouldn’t hurt and might help to spread the word about her and the OP is in a position to do so given that she knows when/where the horse will go to auction and can give some history of the horse).
OP, can you email me the horse’s details please? I will happily network for her, if you send me her info.
And can we get some clarification… is she actually lame or just a delicate horse who at times has issues?
I’m still waiting for someone to tell me how it could possibly be detrimental to anyone to spend 10 minutes forwarding an email. I think I’ll be waiting for a while for that answer.
And yes, of the 3 horses I networked and found a home for sigh unseen-- 2 of the 3 had lameness issues. And they found good homes with people who were willing to take them on knowing their issues. What is too lame for a hunter horse might be perfectly fine with time/stall rest as a trail horse or for piddle around dressage stuff. We don’t even KNOW what the issues are with this horse and so many people on this thread are sure she’s a canner. Maybe she needs something as simple as injections which the absentee owner has skipped.
