{{{HUGS}}}
I know how hard it is to wait, but remember:
Schuyler has the Power of the COTH Jingle with him
The loss of that eye will be a lot more traumatic for you than for Schuyler. He will be home and back to his playful self in no time!
Oh, I know. He’s never had sight in it; he’ll never know it’s gone. And I’ve known this day was coming for several weeks. I’m just very weepy the last few days, is all.
I’m glad that went well. Won’t stop jingling, though til he is home and safe. Go brave little man.
and Hugs to you @Alex_and_Bodie_s_Mom!!! (where’s the tissues icon when you need it?)
I’m glad that things went well! He will soon be home with you and his little motor will be running when you hold him. Kitten snuggles are the best!
Get well soon, Skyler!! Jingles for all of you
I know you’re worried about him, but when I had Tricki Woo’s eye removed due to uncontrollable pressure in his eye, my vet said it’s actually a very quick, easy surgery.
He will probably look terrible for a week or so (like Tricki in the photos), but it doesn’t seem to bother them much at all during recovery. I had pain meds for him, but I think the surgery was less pain to deal with than the bad eye. He was a much happier dog immediately!
Sending massive jingles to both of you for a quick recovery!
Sonnet and I are thinking of you. She wanted me to show you this is what she looked like when she got home from her enucleation as a kitten:
And this is what she looks like now, at 15 and still full of sass (her right eye is microphthalmic so she is 99% blind):
She says it will be no different for Schuyler! Hope he gets to come home today.

Here’s Cookie; and the vet in no uncertain terms told me DO NOT TAKE THE CONE OFF. I was scared she wouldn’t be able to get to food and water bowls but they assured me she could. And I’m glad I listened as I probably wouldn’t have gotten the cone back on
When Hogan had the end of his tail amputated, I took his cone off to let him eat more easily - and one day I wasn’t looking just as he finished his food and he instantly ripped out 2 of the 3 stitches, as I found out when it came time for their removal. Though it didn’t seem to interfere too much with healing in the end, except that a scab formed when it bled that had to be removed to access the remaining stitch.
Talked to the vet - or rather, the vet tech - a bit ago. They’ll keep Schuyler until tomorrow. She said he’s doing very well, and she gave him lots of love because he was really wanting attention.
Ask them to give him love from his Coth friends too.
So you are saying that they stole our kitten?
(Happy he is doing well!)
Well, the vet tech did sound absolutely in love with him . . .
So glad he’s doing well!!
Maybe a new home? hint hint…It would be a sweet deal if he landed there.
I’m glad he got though surgery. I hope he does well during a recovery.
Is little Schuyler home yet?
Bless his little heart. We should be more like kittens - no regrets, just move on. Or bounce on as may be.
give him a smooch from me
I love the ears - he looks like he might be part bat.
