They’re getting so big!!!
those ears
Winkin’, Blinkin’ and Nod!
Schuyler got his stitches out today - everything looks normal and he’s good to go.
The vet did say that they examined the eye (after removing it) and saw no infection, but it did have a lot of viscous fluid in it. She thought it must be something like glaucoma. Very odd in a kitten this young, though.
Yay!
I’m glad he got his stitches out and he’s doing well!
That is odd about his eye. I never knew a kitten could get glaucoma.
I wonder if it could have been caused by an injury or an infection? I also wonder if this could cause problems with the other eye down the line. I know that children can get glaucoma and it is caused by high pressure in the eyes, so maybe it follows that a kitten could get it the same way?
Porr little boy. I am glad he is doing so well and has turned into a holy terror.
I hope the other eye isn’t affected! It’s so hard to know - that eye never opened like the left did, and he had an abscess in it when he was about 3 weeks. The vet thought at the time that it had never been viable and had probably abscessed because it was always bad - but then it opened. But he was with me in the house since day 1. So to me, the only explanation is that it never developed correctly. Who knows?
Strange. Who knows why things happen the way they do.
he needs a little pirate eyepatch. Which he will probably tear off and destroy. Lol
Now we need jingles for Noodle - she crashed last night and I just left her at the vet with a 104 temp. They’ll run subQ’s and get her started on antibiotics. One f-ing thing after another…
Sending family sized pack o jingles.
Poor lil bit! I have a four leaf clover around here some where…and here is my lucky horseshoe…
and my lucky rabbits foot…
Let us know how she does!
Oh no! Jingles and good, healing vibes to Noodle. I guess your vet needs to be on retainer.
Oh no, poor Noodles!!! I hope she’s feeling better soon!
Jingles and hugs!
Jingles for Noodle! Poor baby.
Just heard back from the vet - her temp is down to about 102.5, from 104.5 earlier. She isn’t eating yet, but the vet said he thinks her eyes look a little better. They put her on steroids and doxy, so they were taking it very seriously. He’ll let me know how she is in the morning.
Thank you everyone for the jingles.
HUMONGOUS HOOSIER JINGLES for Noodle!
< Mad at the Fates messing with your kittens!
Sending jingles and hugs for both of you.
Hope little Noodle is feeling better today.
Yes, she is - the vet called earlier and said her temp is still down (though still a bit high) and she’s starting to act a little better and eat a little more. I let them keep her for the day, just to be on the safe side, and she’ll probably come home tomorrow.
