More. Kittens. OMG

I bet that could be arranged. Do it!

How are Tuffy and the kittens? I hope the family is doing well. :slightly_smiling_face:

Well, Tuffy is fine. However, she got out of the crate one morning, and since I couldn’t get her back in, I left it open, and while I was at work, she decided to move the kittens. I have searched everywhere for them, and I suspect she has moved them back across the road to the neighbors’ house. She is still nursing them, so at least that’s good, but I have zero clue where they are.

Been hitting my head against my desk (and every other hard surface) since.

Cats can be difficult. It’s not your fault. You had to leave the crate open.

Since you feed her, she’ll probably be back.

Tuffy didn’t realize she was at the good place. I’m sorry she moved the kittens. :frowning:

Oh, she comes to eat at least once a day. She needs wormed, though; have to call the vet this week to find out if I can worm her while she’s still nursing.

However, never fear! The other, almost totally feral cat had kittens this morning. 4 in total, 1 black and 3 tabbies.

But she sucks at taking care of them, so I will probably be raising them … came home to find them cool and alone. Put a heat pack in with them, and they snuggled right up to it. She’s furious when I handle them, but she keeps taking the black one out to feed and leaving the others … sigh.

Kittens! I miss having little ones to watch and play with but I am so happy when I don’t have pregnant mommas show up.

Well, I just gave them their first feeding. All four were hungry - I’m not sure she has actually fed them recently, though she likes to take them out and guard them. I suppose I will have to bring them in tonight.

Another Mom of the Year! That’s what I called my last foster mom last year. She said she was a party gurl, not mom material. Too bad she had 5!

Penny, my latest foster mom is a pretty good mom, but I’ve still had to supplement with some bottle feeding. Panda is entirely uninterested but Squeak, who was definitely not getting enough nutrition from Mom, figured it out on the second attempt. Fortunately I see them nursing on the kitten cam in the early morning so I’m just doing 4 day feedings. This is good since I also just started on PM gabapentin for my back, so there’s zero chance in waking up for night feedings!

I haven’t figured out if she’s got poor nursing skilz (they are more gnaw the fake teat than proper nursing when I’m feeding her) or not enough milk, but they are due to go in tomorrow for their first shots. I suspect the latter since Panda doesn’t often have a fat fat kitten milk belly, but he’s growing and playing, so I’m guessing limited supply and he’s getting most of it.

Never a full moment with the foster kittens!

And they’re now officially part of the household. Pick yours now!

I’ll just pick one and ship it to you in 8 weeks, then!

I’ll take a tabby and the black one then. :joy:

Don’t know if you’d want the black one. He’s a mess!

Sadly, I just lost the black kitten. He ate 2 hours ago, but was lethargic. Of the four, he was the one I thought would make it. The others are still active and eating, but I don’t think they’re eating enough.

I am so sorry to hear about the black kitten! I hope the others will be ok. :sleepy:

Me, too. I know from experience that raising newborns is a crap shoot at best, but it still hurts to lose them.
