I bet that could be arranged. Do it!
How are Tuffy and the kittens? I hope the family is doing well.
Yes! We need more kitten pictures!
Well, Tuffy is fine. However, she got out of the crate one morning, and since I couldnāt get her back in, I left it open, and while I was at work, she decided to move the kittens. I have searched everywhere for them, and I suspect she has moved them back across the road to the neighborsā house. She is still nursing them, so at least thatās good, but I have zero clue where they are.
Been hitting my head against my desk (and every other hard surface) since.
Cats can be difficult. Itās not your fault. You had to leave the crate open.
Since you feed her, sheāll probably be back.
Tuffy didnāt realize she was at the good place. Iām sorry she moved the kittens.
Oh, she comes to eat at least once a day. She needs wormed, though; have to call the vet this week to find out if I can worm her while sheās still nursing.
However, never fear! The other, almost totally feral cat had kittens this morning. 4 in total, 1 black and 3 tabbies.
But she sucks at taking care of them, so I will probably be raising them ⦠came home to find them cool and alone. Put a heat pack in with them, and they snuggled right up to it. Sheās furious when I handle them, but she keeps taking the black one out to feed and leaving the others ⦠sigh.
Kittens! I miss having little ones to watch and play with but I am so happy when I donāt have pregnant mommas show up.
Well, I just gave them their first feeding. All four were hungry - Iām not sure she has actually fed them recently, though she likes to take them out and guard them. I suppose I will have to bring them in tonight.
Another Mom of the Year! Thatās what I called my last foster mom last year. She said she was a party gurl, not mom material. Too bad she had 5!
Penny, my latest foster mom is a pretty good mom, but Iāve still had to supplement with some bottle feeding. Panda is entirely uninterested but Squeak, who was definitely not getting enough nutrition from Mom, figured it out on the second attempt. Fortunately I see them nursing on the kitten cam in the early morning so Iām just doing 4 day feedings. This is good since I also just started on PM gabapentin for my back, so thereās zero chance in waking up for night feedings!
I havenāt figured out if sheās got poor nursing skilz (they are more gnaw the fake teat than proper nursing when Iām feeding her) or not enough milk, but they are due to go in tomorrow for their first shots. I suspect the latter since Panda doesnāt often have a fat fat kitten milk belly, but heās growing and playing, so Iām guessing limited supply and heās getting most of it.
Never a full moment with the foster kittens!
I canāt pick⦠Theyāre all cute!!!
Iāll just pick one and ship it to you in 8 weeks, then!
Iāll take a tabby and the black one then.
Donāt know if youād want the black one. Heās a mess!
Sadly, I just lost the black kitten. He ate 2 hours ago, but was lethargic. Of the four, he was the one I thought would make it. The others are still active and eating, but I donāt think theyāre eating enough.
I am so sorry to hear about the black kitten! I hope the others will be ok.
Me, too. I know from experience that raising newborns is a crap shoot at best, but it still hurts to lose them.
