I’m sure Stormy is used to being asked for autographs, but I imagine not by a bunch of women wearing breeches, with hay in their hair, smelling like they’ve spent the day at a horse show.

You can bet your @ss if I ever see her name on an entry list at a show I’m attending I will totally be fan-girling. No shame, I will ask her to sign anything I have handy. Stormy is the epitome of a David vs. Goliath story. Even more so after the Orange scandal.

BTW, have anyone done any score stalking? Is Stormy competing currently?

I can’t imagine trying to balance everything she has going on at the moment with competing! But you never know, it could possibly be an escape. I hope she is able to ride as much as she needs/wants,

looks like ellen was eliminated at aecs. i was looking at results. yesterday she was in fourth. now there is no dressage score displayed, just an E. wonder what happened?

The ground jury can eliminate a horse at any point in a competition if they feel they are lame or unfit to continue.

I don’t have anything useful to say, just that I spent probably three or four days reading this whole thing, and it’s probably what finally inspired me to emerge from my shell and actually start commenting on COTH forums lol. And also that a lot of the behavior that’s described by posters re: shoddy barn owners and trainers is horrifying and only too familiar. It’s appalling how many shysters are in the industry and how easy it can be for them to generate a cult-like following that overlooks a lot of the strange things that go on in the barn. The stories I could tell are relatively tame to some of the stuff I’ve read in this thread, and what I’ve dealt with was bad enough :eek: whether or not they’re true, they’re DEFINITELY not outside the realm of possibility.

Cesar Parra was eliminated a couple of weeks ago after the test was scored. The horse had blood on his mouth that the ring steward found when doing bit check.

Isn’t he lame pretty frequently when she’s trying to show him? Or am I remembering this wrong?

So as a professional, she should have known her horse was lame. I guess it’s possible he was completely sound until he stepped foot in the ring, but what really are the odds of that? Not saying it does not happen. If you watched his K3D dressage test, I thought he did not look sound there either, although it may be totally unrelated and I am so not an expert. It will be interesting to see what she does with him going forward, as I believe he is her only advanced horse. One would hope that if he physically is at the point where he needs to step down, she will do that.

The horse was lame during dressage at Rolex too. I recall it specifically because I was surprised they didn’t eliminate her then.

Given the new USEF Safe Sport program one would hope that no one who trains a youth rider would be caught dead in a strip tease lounge. Or is that an acceptable entertainment to parents? Serious question. Does what a trainer do outside of equestrian work have zero relationship to his/her work? Strip bars are legal as are casinos, XXX theaters and other adult establishments. In this era of #Metoo & Safe Sport is there a place for this in the USEF world where a trainer would pay to see women’s bodies objectified? For the sake of discussion, take Stormy out of this, she is just the most well known XXX movie star/stripper right now but there are plenty of strip bars out there.

I am not at all sure what you’re asking in the above post. Stormy is a rider, owner and competitor, not a trainer. What she does when she’s not at the barn or an event really doesn’t have anything to do with her interactions with people at the barn or at the event.

If the question you’re asking is “In light of SafeSport, is their a problem with a trainer of minors having a second job in adult entertainment?”, that’s a legit question that has nothing to do with Stormy.

I happen to think the answer is no. If I had a choice between the late Jimmy Williams (who was well respected and revered for decades before his victims spoke out) or Stormy Daniels teaching/coaching my son or daughter, and the primary consideration was their safety, the answer would be Stormy, hands down. Most people can separate their jobs from their barn life quite effectively.

Unless you consider that the second job paints the person with a radioactive scarlet letter that will contaminate anyone in close proximity.

That’s what I remembered as well. One year he didn’t make inspection and didn’t compete, the year she got married there if I recall correctly. So this is a pattern of attempting to show a lame horse. Very telling.

You think going to a strip club violates Safe Sport? Oh my. Stop with the Puritanical rules about sex. If the wome are choosing that career (and yes, I recognize that’s a complicated “if”),then who says they are being objectified? This is the same line of thinking that said feminists can’t be stay at home moms. For cripes sake, when are we going to start believing in the agency of women so they actually get to choose for themselves without all the critical bulls%#&$.
