He’s had his nerve block and is ready to go any time. Surgery is scheduled from approximately 9am to 6pm. Wow 
It will be a long day.

Surgery was 8 hours. It went well and he is doing fine per the surgeon when he met with me.
Pathology of the bladder will be done and we meet with oncology at the end of October to confirm if he will need to do immunotherapy or not.

Hubby update: last night when he finally got to
His room, he was making smart alek comments to make me laugh. He definitely did not lose his sense of humor!
Today, he’s been sitting in his chair and is walking around the hallways. He is able to have controlled amounts of liquids to drink. Pain is well controlled and no nausea or vomiting. His bowels should hopefully get back into working order following the bowel resection which they used to make the neobladder. The op report was long. No evidence of disease intraoperatively but pathology will confirm.
So far, he is every nurses dream patient and his usual overachiever rock star self
