Wouldn’t LK have to break the gag order to tell IM the settlement terms so that he could spill the beans? He can’t break the gag order but in theory would not have access or knowledge of the terms of the settlement unless LK revealed it to him. Or is it assumed that you (g) are allowed to discuss the terms of a settlement with immediate family and that doesn’t “count” against the gag order?

If there is a guardianship/trustee/POA relationship between IM and LK is he subject to the gag order? If that relationship exists could the gag order be worded so that anyone acting on LK’s behalf as a guardian would also be bound by the order? Since they are acting in her place at least regarding finances and a settlement may involve a monetary component either paying or receiving they would need to have parts of the settlement agreement revealed to them- especially if Daddio needs to get money from the bank.

We don’t know if there would be a gag order or what provisions it might have.

Regarding settlement awards - the check goes to the litigant’s attorney, who first takes his or her cut before doling out the remaining amount.

To my understanding, this was how Tom Girardi was able to scam so many clients out of their money. He’d win a big case, the clients (who are usually victims or remaining family of major tragedy) would be awarded money, but Tom would either take more that he said, or would con the poor victims into letting him put the money in a ‘trust’ that Tom controlled which he would later drain.

While good ole @Inigo-montoya is very excited at LK’s “cool quarter million” settlement, what he doesn’t realize is that amount is nothing for serious competitors like his daughter claims to want to be.

Unfortunately for them, though it has been explained repeatedly, they have a very odd, skewed perspective on the costs of this sport.

The idea that $5k a month for board & training for her horses, plus her housing was “fair” or anything but a bargain basement price… made their disillusionment quite clear.

Given the family’s history of and propensity for all forms of defamation, as we’ve all witnessed here firsthand, I have to believe any settlement would include ironclad language barring all of them from carrying on with their inflammatory behavior towards MB.

I would be willing to bet that the settlement resulted in money paid to LK. It was described as a confidential settlement, so it’s not surprising the details have not been disclosed.
