Things are better and my appreciation for the hard work by Moderator1 et al and the tech group. I know it is not easy to deal with a bunch of cranky users. The speed is back to usable.

It’s definitely hard to figure out how to adjust and I too am missing paging, though fully realizing we won’t get it back. I think the way we use these boards will change which is not always bad even if it makes me a little grouchy.

At the moment I’m looking over the boards and not finding anything that catches my interest to read. I am certain this is a UI problem because I know there’s a ton of great content here, but I have no good suggestions for what it is that is keeping me from finding what I want. If it ends up being possible to highlight author names (NOT avatars) on the outer thread titles like we had before, I think that will help. Avatars alone do not identify users in a community of our size.

Is it my imagination, or can I tell what posters liked a post I made?
Not sure I am in favor of no longer being anonymous when liking something.

When a post is liked, the poster can see who cast the like. IOW, if you like my post, I can see that you, dotneko, liked it.

But no one else can see that. If you like my post, I can see that it was you, but every other poster on the board just sees that the post has a like, not who cast it.

Yes! highlight what you want to quote, wherever it is, and you get a popup gray Quote box to check. And the Reply box stays in sight all the time.

So is there an easy way that I have not seen yet to change forums at the bottom of a thread? Or do I need to go back to the top of the thread to go to a different forum?

You can click the three line “hamburger” menu to go to different forums or back to a main page from the bottom of a thread

If you scroll alllll the way down to the bottom of this thread you’re in, you’ll see something like this

the “Technical Help Forum” is a clickable link just as it would be up top.

@MHM please hang in there and don’t go away. You are a favorite of mine and I’m sure I’m not alone. I am not super comfortable with technology either, but we can do this.

It will take me awhile to get the hang of it too but I think it’s worth it to stay connected after all these years.

Once you click on the emoji symbol, you can do a search for the one that fits your needs.

Things are running SUPER slow again & getting lagging/freezing images. I’m on an iPhone.
Also… I tried to edit my above post & kept getting kicked out of that page when I’d click submit, then an error msg. Sorry forgot to screenshot the error.

Just an FYI. I’m sure it’ll take a bit to get all the kinks worked out.

On a brighter note. I really like the slide bar feature.
