Maybe everyone listed is in invisible mode, why the grey?:lol:
I checked that out i clicked on several posters that are listed, all had the green light by their user names. Your online i don’t see you listed in the who’s on line. They can’t be invisible if showing in the list of users.
I went looking and found some green on posters in other forums, but seems that most are grey, maybe not online or signed on as invisible.
Well, that function obviously is working, if you too are invisible, you are still grey.
I checked and this post is still not listed, the last post here is yours.
That feature is still slow or not always coming thru right.
Well the notification deal isn’t glitch free i get some notification and some i don’t. Like now nothing on notification got like 2 or 3 today and back to nothing. I was on invisible before the site switched over so it stayed that way,haven’t tried switching back. Yeah there’s still glitches on here yet some more annoying then others.
I get notification i shouldn’t receive too so go figure. And Mod 1 hasn’t been on here either, maybe tired of all the complaints or taking a break.
The post thing has been messed up here since new site rolled out,it’s slow to make the change,that annoys me. I tend not to look if it shows i was last poster,or it shows last poster i had already read post on.
Could it be that people are not quoting your or tagging you in those days?
I have gone a couple of days with no notifications and then I get a few because I have been quoted.

No people are quoting me and i don’t always get a notification. A little ways back in this thread simkie quoted me quite a few times never got one notification. Bluey’s last quote of my post never got a notification. I get notifications for people wanting to subscribe to my profile,i don’t have that checked off so SHOULDN’T get those notifications. I’ve been tagged never got any notification.

You started complaining about not getting notifications at the same time you complained about getting subscriber notifications, and turned those off.
Since you’re still getting subscriber notifications, perhaps turn those back on in the settings and see if your others come back.
Since this thread is now 20 pages, should we roll up the things that are still issues?
- Ignore broken, but vBulletin working on it, not a COTH-specific issue
- Front page doesn't refresh with new posts immediately
- Username/avatar mismatch sometimes on main page and forum pages, perhaps tied to invis posters
- Unread indicator--the blue/white chat bubble--on the front page only goes to unread if the channel is marked read
- Notifications issue for @tazycat (is anyone else having problems?)
- Photo upload issue for @tazycat (is anyone else having problems?)
- Notifications link at top of page goes to message center instead of directly to notifications box
- "Too white" background (is this still a problem? perhaps having a few skin options would appease people?)
- No search option on member list
- Some iPhones might not be popping over to mobile view, requiring scrolling (can anyone with newish iPhone confirm and post screenshots?)
- Page number buttons at bottom of page might not be working for iDevices on Safari
- Today's Topics not sorting by time/date consistently
- Permissions issue with changing show/don't show DOB (for only @achcosuva? Has anyone else tested?)
- "Too small" font, then inconsistent spacing (is this still a problem? I've gotten used to it now)

I assumed this is by design, to avoid table breakage. Better cutting off than screwing up the whole display of the screen? (We had a lot of that in the old board with long strings of text!)
Should we add it to the issues list?
It could be by design. I had not noticed it before.
I would think they would wrap it instead of cutting it off.
Or set a limit to the number of characters in a screen name.
No reason to add it to the list if it was on purpose. I just noticed it and was not sure they knew about it.
that lack of additional information maybe because the poster has gone into their profile and deleted the data…

Probably because they have replied to a visitor message? Visitor messages seem kinda like posting on a FB user’s wall.
@Simkie Moderator1 fixed my birthday problems. Apparently an old upgrade corrupted the format so it wasn’t programming correctly.

some feedback on the New Posts widget (LOVE this feature, BTW!) – maybe someone can point me in the right direction or show me how I’m not using it correctly… but I use this feature to “catch up” on all the posts I’ve missed since my last visit…
However, I’ve noticed it is not showing all posts since my last visit… it will usually show me only 1-5 pages… but typically, when I browse this way there should be 1-15 pages, ESPECIALLY on the weekends when I tend to be a little sparse. I only noticed this because the time-stamps don’t match my last visit – for example, I know my last visit was yesterday at 4:50-5 PM – which means that I should be seeing all posts from 5 PM est and forward… but instead, it’s only giving me all new posts since 12:00 AM (today).
BTW, not sure if it’s relevant, but I also don’t think it “catches” all posts made across the Forum - I don’t mean OT/Menagerie (I know those are excluded) but for instance there’s been a few times I’ve read a new reply on a thread that is not in the “new posts” category… and vice versa!
I do want to say, I know how hard the team is working and IMHO, I think this is the best installation of COTH yet. I was skeptical at first since some of the navigation was a little stiff, but the real-time tweaks to make it more browser-friendly and compatible did not go ignored - I am very grateful you guys have taken all of our feedback so seriously and enacted upon it. Thank you!
I am not sure if you are not understanding what I was posting or if I am not understanding what you are posting.
My point is that the end of the user name is chopped off. Nothing more. I can not see how a person would make that happen by doing anything in their profile.
I have had the same/similar problem. Today is a great example. I had four notifications of being quoted. I decided I would wait and catch them as I came to the threads in my Today’s Topics list (how I start the day). I went thru the list, opening every thread I had posted in previously and a bunch of new threads, until I got to threads that had not changed since yesterday and realized that the three threads that I expected to see on the list (because of the notifications) had not been there. I went back thru and looked, not there. And clearly they had new posts since I had read them last.
This is a problem that I commented on shortly after this list option was started. Clearly it is a glitch that has not been fixed yet.
Off Topic and the Menagerie are not supposed to show on either Today’s Topics and Today’s Posts. They did not show on the list in the old forum either.
Regarding the “Today’s Posts” issue…
It is that it’s pulling TODAY’S posts, and not all new posts since your last visit?
It looks like some specific fancy search boolean pulling things posted today across several specific forums instead of the software saying “these are all of the new posts since @JB’s last visit.”
Add to issues list?

I think that is it - that the search is being too literal and is taking TODAY’s posts only - before, I was able to play catch-up and see “all posts since my last visit” using the Today’s Post function.
Especially useful for catch up as I am usually not around on weekends; Monday morning I like to play catch up and see what I’ve missed.
I did notice that Today’s Posts is missing some posts made today, like Trubandloki pointed out.
