OH! Interesting. The Today’s Topics uses a different time reference than the Today’s Posts. Posts brackets with a date, Topics uses “lastDay” which maaaaaaaybe is stuff since your last visit??
Is this post search better? I swapped out lastDay for the dates.

Do the posts not showing up in either of these places share any attributes? Same board or anything?

I would have to go thru and document posts and look to see if they are missing from that list.
Only showing that calendar day is not really want I want that list to show anyway. I want to be able to come in the next morning and see what has happened since I logged in last time, about 4pm the day before. I would be missing a ton if it only showed that morning since I come here around 6am.
I just do not understand why some posts do not seem to show up on the list, when they have posts recently.
I think that link I posted might give you what you’re looking for, at least on pulling posts since your last visit. Not sure, but play around with it the next few days and see?
The missing post thing is curious, but the search terms look pretty complex, so perhaps something is just missing from the query…so not displayed, because search is skipping it. If there are any consistencies, then it should be easy to suss out what needs to change to capture everything

But, that does not explain why the msg and response show up when you click on a members name where it shows all members posts AND “Visitor message from ********”
Are PM’s/visitor msgs not private?
Private messages are private.
Visitor messages are not private.
Private messages and visitor messages are different things. Like how posting on someone’s wall on FB can be viewed by all, but sending them a message is not.
ETA: if you’d like to limit who can see the visitor messages on your profile, then go to User Settings>Privacy and change “visitor messages” to subscribers. Then don’t accept subscriber requests, or only accept those who you’d like to see your visitor messages.
I just posted a very innocuous post with a link to the TB Bloodlines.net site on a particular female family. I got a message that the post was unapproved. Tried again with the same information, and it came back again as unapproved.
What am I doing wrong?
Yep tryed that no difference never got a notification on this or the 2 times I was tagged. I just now looked at this thread.

You’re not doing anything wrong. The spam engine is pickier with this software, and seems to be holding more posts for moderator approval. It doesn’t generate any notification to the mods, so if something is taking too long to pop in, send a pm to mod 1.

I can’t see the detail on the screenshot @trubandloki but I can see what you’re seeing when I look at Today’s Topics! It goes chronological for awhile, then it misses, then back, then misses again…super weird!

Yes, that page seemed extra random with a few pots going back and forth between the two days.
I am missing the “related topics” that used to appear at the bottom of a thread. Many times that was more reliable than the search function within the forum.
Hummmm… some new weirdness (the technical term ).
What I have been doing (and happy with) is read a forum, mark the channel as read (all the bolded topics that I haven’t read get unbolded and the forum name is also unbolded). Happy
Today, look at a forum… read topics… mark channel as read… everything is unbolded. Then I come back later. Forum is bolded… click into forum and no bolded topics (and I’d already read/marked everything in it). When I look at the forum topics list, I see the most recent poster/time and know that I’ve already read it. Why is the forum name now being bolded?
Also noticed that the Questions forum was bolded… clicked into the forum and didn’t see any bolded topics (and I haven’t been in the Questions forum in a few days).
Thoughts?
Maybe they’re working on the back end of things? I noticed something I posted was reflected on the front page RIGHT AWAY. :eek:
I suspect a very good software sales person is the root of the evil… oh yes this software can do that and that and we can easily make this wonderful software do anything you want… well the check has been cashed and off to next project (sucker in layman terms)
The last place I worked at we struggled for two years to get the new software to do what it was supposed to do, reported the problems and nothing was ever fixed, all we got was just report the problems and we will work on fixing them…
Makes one wonder how did we ever send men to the moon and back again using a computer that was less than a today’s cell phone… other than engineers then knew what the hell they were doing
I am still seeing in forum’s main page, after I post, my avatar but someone else’s name, if they post after my post?
That will be there for hours some times, looks strange another name with my avatar as last poster.
I suspect your right on this. I got tired of getting notifications i wasn’t supposed to get and was. I just unchecked all notifications and it stopped now. So i get nothing if quoted or tagged,i’m just spending less time on here now. Check things in morning then at night quick, less then 10 minutes total a day here. Notifications i should of gotten i didn’t get.
Getting a lot more done not being on here much. Have 2 horses who need my time right now.

Okay, anyone else getting a ton of notifications for subscriptions to topics that they did not subscribe too? I’m getting notifications that people posted in topics that I have never even opened.
