Kellydressage…how long have you been riding with him? What level have you trained to? If you are a beginner dressage rider I understand where you are coming from and why you don’t understand where we are coming from. If you are an upper level rider, please share some video of his training your upper level horse.
Does he stay at your house?! Do you stay at his?!
But the truth is, is that the man gets results. If I called him out to my farm to work with my horses and he was saying one thing but doing another, and my horse looked like crap, then I would say this guy is a fraud. But he gets positive results and he does that at clinics also what is so hard to understand about that?
He reads. Ok. Dont we all? Isnt that why we read, so we can learn? He has admitted to being largely self taught he’s not lying in any way but yet you can still call him a liar and a scam.
I just dont understand what your problem is all of you, other thean you are looking for someone to hate on.
Yep.
And you have never seen him ride.
If you are in Pa why not invite him out for a clinic or do you feel too threatened and is it easier to be wicked instead?
Such jealousy here from you people. I thought Peronace was very honest and up front. He was kind enough to answer your questions but you are still not happy?
What-a-group-of-a##holes…
Threatened from what? Regardless on what Mr. Peronace says, he still does not have the education or experience to be hanging his shingle out as a haute ecole dressage maestre. That doesn’t make us a##holes, that makes us not suckers.
And why don’t I give it a try?
Because I have a wonderful coach and trainer that have legitimate successes as recognized shows (at Grand Prix and every other level) and my trainer has actually bred and trained multiple horses from green to Grand Prix and has authored books that are well-known by the dressage community as a whole. And, my trainer actually trained with Nuno Oliviera for a bit. I choose to spend my money on coaches and trainers that have the education and expertise. And, lucky me… They’re also in PA.
What kind of results are you referring to?

the man has no competition record for either himself or his students or their horses, not it would seem aught else than some blurry photos of a horse doing some sort of tricks that he learned about from a book. What on earth is there to be jealous of?
Sitting next to Robert Dover?
If he’s doing so many clinics all over the world, surely someone else that reads this board has been to one of them …
Houseguest #2, come on down!
If he doesn’t like showing/competitive dressage, that is fine … Not everybody wants to compete. That would explain the absence of scores. But if he is going to market himself over the internet as an upper level dressage trainer, potential clients are going to want more to form their opinions on than just a handful of 15 year old out of focus photos of a horse doing circus tricks.
Mr. Peronace is such an honest guy, huh?
Please see that at the bottom of this page he states he is publishing a book with Xenophon Press.

Out of morbid curiosity I e-mailed the publisher this evening. His response was “thanks for the heads up. we are not publishing his book. Where did you see that?”
I guess now is also a good time to mention I also e-mailed the publisher of Dressage Today. Wonder what they’ll say.

My mother taught me dressage and she worked with Klimke.

You mean the horse he said was going to go FEI but also has no recognized show scores? Do you even understand how a horse reaches FEI level? Those are two photos that show nothing that demonstrates upper level skill.
Kelly/Nick–Stop. You’re embarrassing yourself. There is nothing on the webpage that a training level rider wouldn’t have–pictures on a horse.
Ah. And just who is your mother? And how did she “work” with Klimke? Which one? Doing what?
Has anyone contacted the farm (Jentri Stables) that is at address listed on Nick’s website? The Jentri website doesn’t mention Nick at all.

This Klimke. He moonlights at dressage when he’s not the Budestag rep from Hamburg…

Seriously - this is not the place to name drop. Many have trained with, work for, own horses for or just plain old know the trainers you keep dropping. This is not some forum of 13 yo pony clubbers. MANY of the folks here have trained their own horses to FEI and have the scores, videos etc to prove it. Anyone who has been on that journey would never trust anyone who claims to be self taught and has no validation that what you have self-taught fits the ideals of competitive or classical dressage. We ALL know people who say they ride 3rd level because their horse did a flying change once. As a previous poster said, this group has far more experience than either of you. Just go away - you are out of your league.
Stick to your 4-H clinics. If you don’t get anyone hurt, good luck to you.
Jeeze,
I trained my (never shown) at home hack quite well, he had great changes …“airs above ground” only occurred when he was green.
I’ve read many, many, books!
I have no competition record (of COURSE you are too important to actually compete…) and neither do you. I have no record because I have never competed in dressage. If only I had taken my at home hack to a schooling show, one time , the master I could claim to be!
Get a grip on yourself Mr. Peronace. You are wasting everyone’s time trying to convince people who know better, that you know what you’re doing. Please, just give it up.
Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries. Now go away, or I shall taunt you a second time…
I dont playing some of you for being skeptical simply because I do not compete. I did once, but was on an Appaloosa and after one schooling show at Grand Prix and scoring very low, I realized politics were against me and I became more focused on the art of dressage, not so obsessed with ribbons and trophies.
There’s another board where you might find a better welcome and many others with similar mindset and experience. (‘Ultimate’ Dressage)
Just because a small group or even a large group says a certain rock band has no talent or a movie is terrible does not make it true, it only makes it true to that particular group.
So, you’re saying you should just be able to do your own thing and call it dressage? Those pesky marks and movement requirements set out by the FEI may get in your way, of course.
