Ehhh, normally I would not bait someone like that and report back in the manner that I did, but this charlatan is fleecing nice people that don’t know any better, and that really gets my hackles up. I used to BE one of those people. The sheer gall of the man irks me, he has no shame for what he’s done and is doing. I don’t think I was really bullying either, I didn’t call him names, I merely asked questions and he answered. He could have shut this ALL down very quickly by simply removing all the inaccurate information from his website and Facebook, I’m sure it would have petered out had he done so.
OOOH, I smell something burning…
It’s … it’s…
Why I do believe it’s pants on fire!

I know! Now please, work, stay slow! I have popcorn to munch.
I ate all my chips and salsa last night

Notice Richard Simmons rides so light, he doesn’t even need to hold the reins. Just hump.
STOP!!! DYING!!! HAHAHA too good…!!!
I think this got buried quick, since I mentioned it earlier…is it just me, or in the cantering video, with the volume turned up, is there a sort of jingling sound being made in rhythm with the horse’s gaits…and what looks like action chains on the front pasterns? Or is it my imagination?
I had the same thought. I bet they would get along wonderfully.
Oh! What a brilliant marketing strategy.
Needless to say, I don’t think Mr. Nick Peronace is going to be overwhelmed with people wanting to host or attend his “clinics”.
I have to say, I am stunned that he still doesn’t get it.
He seems to thing we are actually interested in his clinics, not that we are skeptical that he has any (“world wide” or not).
Being a scam artist does not mean he is totally clueless. More likely than not that stance is so any other clinics he might have scheduled might not get cancelled because someone emails the barn owner and provides them with a link to this thread.
I have to agree.
I am curious, will those who are saying bullies please explain what was done that was bullying?
It is hard to imagine that people really think it is wrong to call out a fraud like this one.
Though I think private email or such might have been the most appropriate way to inform the barns that booked him as a clinician, I see nothing wrong with providing them with the information that was researched and posted here so they can make their decision on booking someone using all the information not just the pumped up claims.
I was one of the assholes who publicly posted on their clinic page.
You can always delete your own post that you wrote on someone’s timeline. If they haven’t deleted it, go ahead and delete it yourself. You don’t need to explain that on the timeline, as you already let them know you were sorry. Just take down anything you regret posting. Sure, it’ll be in archives but won’t be on the wall for anyone to see now.
Nick Peronace called my cellphone too. It was a few months back and I thought it was completely bizarre. He introduced himself as a GP dressage trainer who was looking to set up some local clinics and would I like to host one?
What seemed even stranger than the original question was the way he refused to take my polite “No, thank-you” for an answer. I finally had to explain, in response to his telling me repeatedly how good he is and how great it would be for me to host his clinic, that not only am I happy with my current trainer, but I don’t have the facility, space, or insurance to be hosting clinics. Bullied by CoTH? Pot, meet kettle.
As soon as I got off the phone, a quick Google search told me all I needed to know.

Yes, at the end of the video when he’s giving the horse a treat, you can actually see the chains. Not really a technique I would use for a dressage horse…

if some creative type does not turn this thread into a coffee table book, it will be a damn shame.

I was hoping it wasn’t, but if you watch/listen to the Femtio video carefully, it really seems like it might be true… Especially at the end when he’s walking, you can clearly hear the chains jingle with each step, and it’s blurry but it does look like there’s something around his pasterns below the boots.
To be fair, though, we don’t know who tacked him up… Maybe the horse’s owner uses them routinely and NP didn’t want to rock the boat? I’m trying here…

I very much agree. Thing is, TO ME, I don’t think he’s riding that canter very well for a $75/45 minute Professional - I think he’s missing a lot of flexibility in his back and hips and contact.
Agree. With the lower leg is swinging and the butt popping up and down in the saddle, he shows no ability to sit the canter well at all.
Wow. I just went back and looked at the canter video. Chains? Why would he have chains on the horse?

I totally want a 2014 calendar of Richard Simmons in various riding activities now. But it must include bikini barrel racing, as well! Please and thank you.

Why, its to lighten the front end, silly No need for half halts or movements–just gadgets like chains. I guess this is how he plans to take the 10 y o hunter with auto-swaps instantly to 3rd L, then slam those tempis and pirrs on and voilá, 4 L/PSG here we come!
