If they truly are bell boots then I apologize for asserting they were not. But they really did look like chains.
Agreed, if they aren’t chains then I apologize as well… Your horse has a lovely canter, but it does make quite the sound.
I have tons of videos of me riding him if you all would like to see them. He over reaches and loosens his shoes so bells are a must for him. I just wanted to clear that up

Oh my… Another Spirithorse/Dragonhart…They could go into business together…
Not so fast. I have never made the claim he has. As for chains, used them on one horse never at canter and only two or three times.
Please do not even put me in the same category as him.
Thanks.

You call yourselfs respectful and classy?
You have done nothing but abuse this poor man yet when
he posted a picture of your bad riding, you then say it is
uncalled for?
As for myself, his students, the students in Iowa and anywhere else, will
keep working and getting positive results from his teaching.
Not only do you “classy” people bash someone you
never have worked with, but he is willing to put his money
where his mouth is and give a free clinic. But you keep
doing is talking.

Welcome back.
Not sure why you are taking issue with us for calling him out on falsification of credentials. If anything, maybe you should be starting to question your blind devotion to him (if you are not, in fact, the same person.)
I saw the photo that he posted and criticized. There was no bad riding involved.

Dude, come on now. Give it up. That dog don’t hunt. There IS no Kelly; its only you. You spell and misspell alike, you phrase alike.
You know, if I had only seen your recent photos and videos, I wouldn’t have begrudged you calling yourself a basic dressage trainer. You aren’t a bad rider (I’ve seen much less skill and feel) and you seem very enthusiastic about the art, and I’m guessing you don’t get to ride regularly.
But its all the lies and pretensions and thinking you can take a hunter horse to 3rd level in weeks as long as it swaps leads and all the stuff about using big spurs and a whip and a wall to teach piaffe.
Come on, now.
Its like finding a nice house you rather like and discovering mold and termites in the basement. Ya gotta just walk away.

Your horse is quite lovely.
I don’t know what your level of riding is, but if you’re pretty new you may be able to learn some stuff from Nick Peronace. However, you should be aware that he has been dishonest about his qualifications as a Classical Dressage Trainer, and just keep that in mind, and know that there are plenty of trainers out there that do not need make things up to earn respect.
Bold Chance, The video you posted of the guy with the trailer is of Dom Schramm who is an event rider and good friend of Boyd Martin. Boyd posted the link on his blog site. The video was done tongue in cheek and for fun. Has nothing to do with this thread.
LeannNelson, your horse is lovely and talented. I agree 100% with you; you can learn something from everyone; both good and bad. I also apologize to you for making comments about chains and your horse. Best wishes to you.
I am the owner of the horse in question and I just want to let you all know that those are bell boots on his pasterns…not chains… and I think the noise you are hearing is the sand hitting the arena walls. I have never used chains and actually have never seen hem used. And I am sorry that you all have such a problem with nick he really does have some good exercises and ways to teach. I believe you can learn something from everyone IMO. Of anyone wants to chat you can email me at lfuller07@msn.com or find me on FB via my username. Thanks!
Your horse is quite lovely, and if those are indeed bell boots, I apologize. They just don’t look or fit like my bell boots of the same brand, which may have led to the confusion. Your horse is very nice and looks like a very kind and forgiving animal. I wish you all the best…in the quest for education, it often takes several different paths and trial and error to sift the wheat from the chaff.
I bet there are people in your area on this forum who could put you in touch with another trainer and instructor who does not lie about their background and accolades, and help you make your very lovely horse even lovelier.
Thanks for coming on here and telling us about his bell boots. You were very polite and respectful and that says a lot about you! My apologies as well.

I just rode one weekend with him…he’s not an aggressive trainer or anything and I am fairly new to dressage I did all the training on Fem but frankly have only been able to afford open shows and schooling shows. I don’t plan to go big with him just plan to keep it fun and keep learning!
Unforgettable, I too has the same brand of bell boots. If I can figure out how to edit video on YouTube from my iPad I would be willing to post a comparison Video
I, too, think you guys have gone over the line. It does not appear he is doing any harm and if his clients are fine with him, really, who cares? There are plenty of similar ‘inflation of credentials’ around. Look at Linda P. who has given us the ‘game of contact’. And someone whose name escapes me with his version of western dressage. There are plenty of other places for righteous indignation without the witch hunt.

You sound like a great horseman, Leann. Best of luck to you. Your boy really is handsome and looks like a lot of fun!
And now the good Reverend Buck has appeared. This thread officially wins the internet.
Oh, and you’ve all been served: http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/154479/served

You’ve done a very nice job with your horse, he’s lovely.
Dressage COTHers, can anyone post some lovely videos of great riding and teaching? This would be a perfect time to show what excellent dressage looks like. I am a newbie dressage rider from Eventerland, so always like to get good examples. TIA!
PS Especially interested in balanced cantering and lateral work.

Here you go. One of my fav’s. Just beautiful

I can only assume that this response was directed at me since it was my picture he criticized. I will repost my post below as you will see 1)I never called myself respectful and classy (although I will take the compliment) 2) I have not abused him. Quite the contrary, I said he was not a poor rider, just uneducated and if he paid his training dues might make it as a professional. 3) I never claimed to be anything other than a struggling AA rider…NEVER a professional. I am quite happy to take the critique of my picture. I don’t even disagree with your assessment. yes, my heels are up. Yes, my legs are drawn up. Yes, for that moment I hung on the reins. Anyone with basic dressage knowledge can make that assessment. That does not make you a professional. However, I am still proud of that picture as I think my mare looks lovely (despite my riding) and for me it shows progress. 4) I never said it was uncalled for. Although it is strange to have my picture randomly chosen for your “professional” critique. However, your statements that I just bought some high dollar horse (thank you by the way) to gain good scores at Second Level are just wrong (rather she is my own homebred and a lot of hard work). In your own sentiment I can only think you are jealous.
As for taking your offer, I will politely decline. I have an amazing trainer and access to clinicians with many years of real knowledge, training, riding and teaching. Folks who are honest, open minded (funny how a homophobic man choses dressage??), not deceitful, not egotistic…well essentially everything you are not. Yes, it is true (at least to our knowledge) he is not a horse abuser, but that doesn’t make him better…just not as bad.
Again, below is my original response to NP using my picture:
Wow, all I did was go grocery shopping in this frigid weather to come back to this! First off, I am a struggling AA rider. Have never claimed anything more and fully admit I would have no place calling myself a professional rider/ trainer,
or even breeder for that matter.
Secondly, I take it as a HUGE compliment that he feels a mare I bred, raised, and trained with the help of my trainer was one that I went overseas and bought with a lot of $$. I did go overseas and buy her mother for $10K many, many years ago and was able to do that purchase because I had saved exactly $10k to purchase my dream horse. My father paid for my birthday trip overseas to go horse shopping and paid for her airfare to the US, which was MUCH cheaper in those days. I was lucky in getting a massive break on quarantine costs as I was a vet student at the time and worked at the quarantine facility. I bred my mare in Germany before import and that resulting foal is Roseblume, my riding mare.
Thirdly, believe me I have heard from my trainer more times than I would like to recount “HEELS DOWN” and “LET GO”. I am sure my mare feels that way as well In that picture I am starting a medium canter which I had been getting 6s on and we were certainly capable of higher scores. However, I always felt like I was flying but the video proved the judges right in “could be more” “needs more” “conservative”. In my head though I always felt like the kid in the black stallion movie galloping on the beach!! In this picture I said to myself “go for it”!!! And I did, then said “holy shit” and hung on for dear life. Either way I love the picture as it shows progress for my lovely mare and I.
In an odd way I am flattered that he stole my picture. Is that weird or what?? In no way do I want to be associated with this man, but it is so funny to me that he stole my picture.
Now off to go ride my high dollar mare. I will not tell her anyone said that about her as she has a big enough ego as it is
