He says he is doing clinics all over, but only 2 are listed. I wonder why he is reluctant to list the 2014 clinics?

The assistant trainer there is a friend of mine too
Well, please, call the assistant trainer up. Ask about the clinic.
Lots of new content on the fb page now. We’ve inspired him I think. Still doesn’t answer most of our questions…
By the way, I don’t mean ANY DISS AT ALL ON THE SUFFOLKS STABLES people. Really, really, really. It seems like a delightful place to ride that fills a niche for beginner types. When I see they around everyone seems happy and well mounted. It’s just that seem completely NOT the type of barn/riders who need a grand prix level dressage clinician. I don’t want ANYONE to think I am being negative about them. Hell, I don’t need a grand prix level dressage clinician!!! I’m a ragtaggy local hunter type, for the most part. So I’m not looking down-- just puzzled why THEY are hosting THIS clinician.
Kellydressage: What Mr. Peronace is doing, atleast at the moment, is the equivalent of someone reading some college level text books at home and calling themselves a college student without actually being enrolled in a university. At the very least it’s misleading. At the very worst it’s intentional fraud.
Schooling GP and successfully showing GP are two different thing. Schooling GP but being unable to produce any evidence (videos) makes for an empty claim. Would you hire a person with an empty resume to do a job?
Why they’d be hosting a dressage clinic with a GP level trainer is beyond me.
Because hes been cold calling every barn in NJ trying to set up clinics. I know because he called me out of the blue one day. I have an actual grand prix gold medalist trainer though and so politely declined.

I have now heard the same. I know 2 farms that engaged him. One didn’t get past a phone call and said he “was inlove with himself and completely clueless” and the other allowed him to come for a training ride on a horse. The folks who witnessed couldn’t stop laughing about the “maestro” he apparently calls himself and lots of other language that may impress newbies but was notably unusual (and funny) to real dressage riders. They said he was not the worst rider they’d ever seen, but had no business taking $$.
If this person wants to exist within the dressage community, (OUR community) he owes us CREDENTIALS. Talk is cheap and the gullible are plenty.

This is true. I don’t begrudge the guy trying to make a living but representing yourself as something you are not, at best, turns people away from the sport. At worst gets them injured or worse.
I too was contacted by NP. I didn’t even know this conversation was going on until he posted it on his FB page. There is a video for those who would like to see. It’s a video of him attempting Passage on his Chevy horse. I just looked to see if it was still on his page but I can’t seem to find it and I’m guessing he’s removed it. I could not believe what I saw on the video. I actually felt sorry for the guy until it dawned on me how arrogant he is and now I only feel sorry for the beginners he’s fooling into paying $75 per lesson.
So before anyone decides to hire this guy to do a clinic ask to see the video that was removed (it does exist) and then make a decision if this is what you want done to your horse. It was not abusive but just something that speaks volumes. Also…His seat and legs in the more recent videos do NOT depict a rider of 2nd level let alone GP.
This is another Buckmaster…I’m convinced.

Not often. But sometimes.
Maestro. That’s awesome.

I know! I’ve become obsessed with this thread. I am totally going to go to his clinic when his massive world tour comes my way. I simply CANNOT help myself!!!
Careful All- yes my horse is still for sale @ home. Here’s his contact to a friend- to- me: Could you talk to her first about it? How it works is she only has to pay for the horses upkeep that she pays now anyway. Also $400 a month and thats just to cover my gas to the barn each day. In turn, I train and ride the horse 6 days a week. I also take him to shows on the weekend every single weekend. I pay all my own advertisements also. I get a commission once the horse sells.
My facebook inbox has been blowing up all day, so I am going to provide a service. The Chronicle Of The Horse is a major publication so I see this as a way to soak up some exposure. I have no idea why this thread got started, but I am thankful for it. It has provided me with advertisement and exposure, though some negative some positive ad well, and with every negative strikes curiosity, and the Curious will come out to a clinic or contact me for a lesson to see exactly what it is I do, so again, thank you!
Criticism in itself does not bother me. Surely not everyone has the same taste in music or movies or anything else, and you can find forums all over the internet. Just because a small group or even a large group says a certain rock band has no talent or a movie is terrible does not make it true, it only makes it true to that particular group.
In reading some of these post, I can 100% guarantee that anyone who claims they have worked with me and did not get positive results is an absolute liar. The closest I’ve ever come to a dissatisfied client recently, was a lady in NJ who pissed off her dressage trainer who also kept many clients horses on her facility. This lady rode her poor mare front to back, and so the horse was not forward and learn to suck back. This mare developed a real ring problem and this lady would actually beat this horse with a crop hundreds of times in a row to try to get any response.
What I had her do, was first I rode the mare. I did not touch her mouth at all. Once I asked for trot and I felt her lock up, I backed off, and dismounted. Some trainers might have dug a spur or use the whip, but that is not my style. Instead I went back to basics and got the mare listening to me from the ground walking, troting, by voice command right by my shoulder. Then I asked this lady to get on while I stayed right next to her doing the same thing. All this lady had to do was sit there. Once the mare was troting and walking, and the transitions were smooth I then detached the lead rope and she was able to ride around her arena and she was very happy with the result.
The dissatisfaction came when she asked me to keep coming out but wanted me to do it for practically nothing. So, she had the idea to take me on as the new head trainer of her facility and hope I could fill the stalls. She asked for my proposal which I provided, but what she didn’t tell me was that she was considering another trainer and she actually showed that trainer my proposal! Horse people are the strangest I have ever met and this one was really weird! I have no idea what she was trying to do or why she did what she did but that led to a negative angry response from me and that is closest I’ve ever come to dissatisfaction.
I have always been 100% honest about my abilities I’ve never lied I’ve never let anyone on I will tell you what I can do and what I cannot do. One thing I want to clear up, and I SOOO dont blame anyone for becoming skeptical when they hear the term “Grand Prix rider”, and expect to see some scores or some competition history. I need to change that on my website, and stop saying that. This is my fault, I do not want to lead anyone on, I do not compete at that level! I went to a schooling show and that is the most I have done at Grand Prix. However, I am certainly trained to that level and also self-taught trained to airs above ground. I have trained in ALL High School movements, including Spanish walk and Spanish trot.
Also, to clear up, I NEVER EVER call myself a master of dressage, other people call me that! I am not arrogant I am NOT self deluded and I am NOT a pompous in any way. I am, very confident in my abilities and what I can produce. We might disagree on certain aspects of training but that does not make me right and you wrong or vice versa.
It is 9pm here on the East Coast. I will be happy to answer any question for the next 30 minutes. Questions about my training my background my credentials Exedra that’s perfectly OK, but I am not here to argue I don’t like going online I hate the internet and I hate computers. So, please, let’s keep this questions and answers I will not argue with anyone I want to make that very clear. Lets keep this adult.
I am ready for the first question…
So what level have you shown to, and when was this?
Please list the names of trainers you learned from and the years you spent with them. Also, please list the names of any riders and horses you’ve trained that are presently competing at recognized shows to attest to your training skills.
Also explain why a “world renowned” trainer such as yourself has to cold call barns to schedule clinics.
Mr. Peronace,
I give you credit for engaging in the dialogue. Can you post any recent video links to you riding? That is something we can easily access for any other clinician coming to our areas. It would help people to feel more comfortable coming to pay you to ride or audit a clinic.

Why do you keep saying that? Not a SINGLE person here has claimed they have worked with you, or even met you! One admits you called her on the phone. That’s it!
So what level have you shown to, and when was this?
The last show I went to was in 1998, I was just 17 and took Chevy to a schooli.g show at Grand Prix. I was thinking of competing Rec next, but we scored a 58% and I thought that was to low to be taken serious. I then got into the “Art” and airs and so on, instead of the show ring.
So, instead of going back to a lower level and showing in that and likely getting better scores, you quit showing altogether? You do realize that without any show scores and no videos there is really no way to prove to potential clients that you can ride at any given level?
