I remembered there was another thread on this product from July 2nd also started by OP in Horse Care,

Not the same product. This is a new complete feed! I thought about adding it to the older thread but thought it needed to stand alone.

This would be a great product if we can get it in Canada! I reached out a while ago to them about their other feed for an IR pony I had and they didn’t ship to Canada yet. But my feed store does sell their shredded beet pulp so maybe they can get other products in…

They did say it won’t be available until December here…so hang in there…

It’s a whole different ballgame to get fortified products into CN from another country, so don’t hold your breath :frowning:

And yes, this is a brand new product, just officially launched yesterday, it’s not even on their website yet (though I haven’t looked today)

So how is this different from Purina Omega Match that has flax and timothy as a base? ( I am too lazy to compare). Is it the addition of beet pulp and more fiber (aka timothy hay) incorporated into the pellets so that it is supposed to be a complete feed?

OM is a ration balancer. This is a complete feed that can also be fed “normally” as is the case with every complete feed I know of

Has anyone tried this feed? I’ve been feeding the Forage Only for awhile now and like it. I noticed TSC had some of the Complete on the shelf yesterday as well. I ran numbers through FeedXL regarding switching from my ration balancer and Forage Only to just the Complete feed and it lowers some numbers I’d rather not have lowered, I think. Still. The idea of just scooping ONE product into a bucket instead of two is appealing.

Just wondering if anyone has tried it and wants to share.

I am switching over.

I’ve had my horses on Essential K ration balancer - I am considering just lowering what I give of that to make up for the protein (they are older and I want to keep on top of the topline pun intended).

My two minis are on it and doing well.

I just included a bag on my autoship from Chewy. I have been feeding the Forage Only to my pony for a week or two (along with RB, flax, alfalfa pellets) and he is eating it well. He doesn’t chew hay well enough to digest it well so he gets poopy tail. The Forage Only along seems to help with this and he is eating less hay. I imagine I can cut back on some of the flax and timothy I already feed.

I got a bag from TSC a few days ago, hoping against hope my 34yo might just love it.
Not only did he not love it, he wouldn’t do more than sniff if :frowning:

At least the others can eat it 1-2c at a time until it’s gone. It’s a nice small pellet that’s really soft, and breaks down in water practically before your eyes.

2lb and change is the same protein as 1lb of the EK, and the Complete has a min feeding rate of 4lb for a 1000lb pasture puff

My elderly mini was picky for a bit - he is transitioning from Tribute Seniority which has molasses, but he’s the only one and he’s eating it now.

Tribute is saying

Interesting pull from a 2017 thread here on Tribute:

So maybe I have to sit down and decide if I even want to use EK.

@JB, my very, VERY picky eater loves Triple Crown Equine Senior Active. I mean LOVES it. I’m not sure if it would solve any of your problems, but it may. The only place you can purchase it is Tractor Supply. I order it online alot.

I have considered it heavily, but haven’t bought any yet for these reasons:
1 - he no longer likes TC Sr or TC Sr Gold
2 - it’s all I can do to get him to eat enough of what he currently likes, and he’s always had a volume limit
3 - TC Sr Active is extruded, and only a 40lb bag for the same $ as regular Sr, so I’m having a hard time imagining him eating enough.

But, it may be something I just need to try. Do you know how similar in smell it is to TS Sr/Gold?
