Official Tokyo Olympic Eventing Thread

NOOOOOOOOO I sooooo wanted to see Rioghan Rua attack that course!

I’m guessing either the - impending rain has made them change or they aren’t handling the weather well enough.

EC is a travesty. What a waste, another Canadian could and should have had the opportunity to compete, given the known soundness history of Pavarotti, combined with his age.

They did already have the 4*-L and 4*-S results required. Was there a requirement of a national HT also?

what is the weather forecast anyway? I keep hearing about the typhoon, but then others just say hot hot hot?

They were forecasting 15mm of rain, 100% chance, but it looks like its now only 40% chance and 1 mm so that will probably be welcomed with the humidity to be at 84%

Agreed but I don’t blame JC - I blame EC for their poor decision making (past and present). Colleen is a wonderful rider but don’t forget she is backed by colossal resources. She probably doesn’t need EC support lol! Would be nice to see others fortunate enough to have the same level of support.

Yeah, I do think the horses team bear some responsibility, they knew what they were working with.

and yes, I meant support from the media, she gets very little coverage if any at all! Most people don’t even know who she is or that she is there and she has had pretty good consistent results the last few years.

I wish! That’s a world I’d like to live in…

I’m late to the party and have read a few posts about how to watch live events. Thought I’d need to subscribe to something.

Here’s my setup: I have DISH Network and a Roku device on my TV for Netflix and Prime.

On the Roku “Home” page, I clicked 2020 Tokyo Olympics. I then selected “Equestrian” in the “Watch by Sport” category. I got a free 30-minute preview screen. It said I had to subscribe to NBC Sports to sign in. I clicked “OK.” It gave me a link to type into my computer/phone/whatever-internet-device-you-have to access NBC Sports. There I had to choose my provider (DISH for me, noticed Xfinity, Direct TV, too) from a drop-down menu and provide my DISH account username and password. I then typed in a code that was displayed on my television. It was then confirmed that I was subscribed on the device and moments later the screen on my TV started playing. 7:30 tonight is when the live Eventing dressage begins.

There were no warnings that I was about to incur a charge for a subscription, so we will see if it’s added to my DISH bill.

Just thought I’d share the process for anyone who has a similar setup as mine. It was very user-friendly and simple.

no charge, I have dish too. They just have to know how to route you. I am so excited! just a couple of hours to go! What do you guys think of Ollie going second? I think that will be helpful to everyone but the poor rider who goes first!

I don’t have cable or dish, but I do have Fubo TV, Hulu Live, Peacock Premium and I can’t find the dressage anywhere on those services. :frowning:

have you gone to NBCOlympics.com and found HULU? I think if you sign in there, it will work

I can’t find an option to log in with Hulu at NBCOlympics.com. No Equestrian on tonight on Hulu live. Sigh!

Edit: Found it - THANK YOU @Larksmom!!!

Here we go!!! Go USA!!! :us: :us: :us: :us:
