Vandiver doesn’t seem nearly as steady in the bridle as usual today.

I thought he was usually smoother through the changes too.

His tongue was waggling a lot.

Weird thing is this is actually their second best 5* score.

Wow Kazu’s test was lovely.

I loved the Thai horse.
will probably finish low down in this competition, but I would love to take that horse home. such a kind, trying my best, horse.

I messaged my coach and told her that one reminded me of mine. Not that it is a great thing, because she isn’t the best at dressage, but just going out there, doing the job, on the forehand, relaxed but not jaw dropping by any means

It looks like the scores aren’t complete when they’re being posted. There were a tone of 0’s in Shane Rose’s score, but they’re updating slowly to higher numbers.

Alex’s test was lovely but Oliver just killed it.

The quasi-live scoring caught me off, too.

A Facebook friend just shared this meme :joy::joy::joy:

Sam Watson’s horse is one of the most cutest horses I have ever seen. What a pretty pony

Maybe through the Hulu?

As much as I love COTH, where is everyone? I’ve been away for several years and popped in to follow the live Olympic discussion, but it seems so quiet here. Where else are folks watching and commenting on eventing these days?

I looked everywhere IN Hulu and today’s dressage was not there. Following Larksmom’s instructions to log into Hulu THROUGH NBCOlympics.com allowed me to find it. Sigh. I work in IT. I should be embarrassed!

I was surprised at Lauren Billys score. I thought her test was better than scored.

It is really quiet. I bet it picks up more on XC day. Debating on getting up early to watch dressage tmrw.

Dressage in the background was just what I need to get through a project for grad school. One more week to go… WOOF! There were some really lovely tests. But… I do not think this will be a dressage competition. I think there will be a good bit of problems all over the xc course, and I think time will be hard to make. I definitely was a bit disappointed in Vandiver’s test, but I feel really confident about him on XC to jump clean and make time. Can’t wait to wake up for Z’s test!

A bit mean. The horses are a different shape which tends to distract the eye of a viewer used to dressage but the top riders are as competent as the dressage riders. Carl Hester trains a lot of them!

I thought that meme was just about watching dressage… then more dressage. Ready for some jumping!

I love watching Eventing dressage compared to “real” dressage. I liked it even better 25 years ago when most riders didn’t even use a dressage saddle.

I took it as implying that eventing dressage is inferior.

Which, if what you’re looking for is world-class lofty gaits, piaffe and passage… then it is.

If you looking to see what a top level eventer looks like being asked to submit and use his body quietly when he’s the fittest he’s ever been in his life, then you won’t be disappointed.

Good thing we don’t have to watch the dressage-only horses try to tackle that XC course- talk about a blood bath!!
