And oh yeah, the name of the college doesn’t matter as much as what you do at college and what you do with the knowledge you walk away with. Good luck!
POST OF THE DAY! Great, Quin.
What a darling! OK, now I want him and I’m going to start stalking you, too! Where did you say you live again?
Fleur-good luck with your surgery. Maybe you should send Winston to me for safekeeping-my yard’s fenced and I’ll tell the neighbors that he’s a great dane, they won’t suspect a thing-I’ll call him Lassie. Make sure at the hospital you have a restricted visitor list-limited by name. I’m sure what you’re getting is outpatient surgery but you still stay there a few hours and I’m a little paranoid about unwanted visitors at hospital rooms. (A man I worked with volunteered with his church group at the hospital, and would get to see the entire patient list-and then would visit and inflict himself on poor unsuspecting people-I’m sure he’s the only one that enjoyed the process and you don’t need that).
Actually “Valuable Show Horse” is only part of his title now, how about “Internationally Known with his own Fan Club with Thousands of People Following his Every Move Horse”?
Fleur - one more thing. In any future discussions with the police or district attorney, he is not “your horse”. He is “your valuable show horse”. Trust me on this. Use the whole phrase, and use it repeatedly.
As other posters have noted, it can be hard for the authorities to take seriously a potential threat to an animal, but “valuable” is a word they understand, and “show horse” is a majikal phrase to non-horse-people. And if they want to know how valuable, lie a little if necessary. We’ll back you up.
Great post Quin.
Where do you live? I’d like to start stalking him too … Actually he reminds me of my horse… only about two and a half hands taller :D.
Hey, 3 years of law school and an internship in a prosecuting attorney’s office - I understand the thought process involved.
WOW. I’ll read the whole thing thru later, but wow.
micro chip. like, yesterday, my friend.
and two more words… RESTRAINING ORDER.
And a video camera wouldn’t hurt either. wacko.
There was a wacko that I thought might steal Dallas, so many years ago. Not a secure facility either. I’ll admit to a padlock on the stall door. yeah, yeah, not safe, but I was that scared they would take him in the middle of the night and the asshat that owned the place would help them load!
Hey Fleur, is he for sale? I have this client, see… Totally kidding. He IS a darling.
Hope your surgery goes well and you heal quickly.
I’m so glad you have taken all the right steps here. You got some great advice and followed the right path. While we make a little light of it to try to help it be easier to bear, this really is quite serious. I hope that a drafted letter from a lawyer and the steps you’ve taken are enough to keep you and yours safe. My biggest fear at this point is that trainer is one of those people that will now transfer that to YOU and not your boy.
I’ve got to say, I’ve been stalked as well. It’s NO fun, very scary and makes life difficult to say the least. I had never heard of a person stalking an animal but can’t say I’m suprised either. There are some real nutters out there. On that note…
Have a great holiday season, Fleur. You’ve impressed me greatly with your maturity and sense of humor in a scary situation. Keep safe, get healthy, and have fun with your lovely, lovely boy Tommy. He truely is a doll.
One more thing to add to that to do list:
Make sure that when you go to ANY horse show, you make the show management aware of the situaiton at hand. You don’t need to give explicit details, but alerting them to the fact that you and your horse have both had harassment/stalking issues with this fruitloop will hopefully help keep a few extra eyes on watch. Legally, they can’t do anything to her unless she threatens you at the show grounds, but its just a good precautionary measure to take. This will hopefully make your show experiences a little more comfortable.
Don’t think that just because she may stay under the radar for a year or two that she may not resurface again at some point - when you least expect it. Just always be aware!
And of course, I’m sure you’re keeping copies of everything she sends you and keeping records of all of your other contact? Sometimes it’s hard to get the actual picture without the entire story laid out, so if you ever DO need that restraining order, every crazy comment she’s ever made is recorded. I am not sure about your state, I know here it’s very difficult to get a restraining order unless specific threats have been made.
I’d even make a note of the meeting in the feed store where she pretended nothing was happening, as it kind of speaks to her mindset.
Good luck. I assume the lawyer has discouraged you from discussing it too thoroughly here, but I hope it all works out well
Okay, I have dealt with psychos a good portion of my life… red flags are red flags, don’t ignore them. That woman is psycho.
You NEED to do the microchipping. Seriously.
Andrew lurks on here, and he came across your post (Fleur). I told him he had to read the history and then this one. He said, “frickin’ crazy horse people! What a psycho!” (“Winston’s” stalker)
Thanks everyone for the concern.
so far no response to mine. hoping it stays that way.
I am feeling like crap however. The surgery went good, but I have a prolonged bleeding time, so it was of some concern with the drs. And when I got home had to go back in b/c I began to bleed. Now my throat is swelling so much so that it is nearly to the point of bing swollen shut, not a fun time.
I will update if anything changes, but I doubt it wont be for a few days.
Tommy is VERY handsome fleur. I love the second picture.
What I still can’t get past is the part about the crazy trainer having to ban her student from the showgrounds because it will be too unbearable to watch the owner ride the horse. That is way up there on the WTF list.
He’s gorgeous!! I would stalk him too!
I dunno, if I were to stalk him, I think I’d rename him FRAZIER.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
Or Bob. He looks like a Bob to me.:lol::winkgrin::winkgrin:
Poor winstofrazierbob! He must be having quite an idenity crisis!
Sorry to hear that you are having some post tonsilectomy problems. I had mine out at 19 and can sympathize. One note of advice, avoid salty foods. Very sweet mom thoughtfully blended beef stew so I could swallow but loved the salt shaker. All I can say is yowsa… And as I’m sure you have figured out ice cream does not make it feel better. In fact anything that needed to be swallowed made it feel worse and if you were planning on going on a diet its a great way to lose weight. jingles for speedy recovery
Winston is one handsome fella and I can certainly understand, albeit overtop, why someone would be in horsey love.
