Olympic Dressage

That sux.

Orlob and Jane up!

Bell rung?

What’s happened??

oh no…checking bit? She did nit want to go in to arena when other horse left

When will we find out what the specific reason is?

I thought it looked like they were checking out the spur area.

I did too

With her antics going into the ring, it wouldn’t surprise me if she bit her tongue or lip though. Or accidentally jabbed with a spur.

Shame, too. Poor horse was kind of set up for a rough go anyway with competitors coming in and out of the same alleyway

They mentioned the eventers took a different route.

They did. There’s two alleys in and out, so horses never crossed paths. No issues during dressage but one horse was eliminated because of blood in the mouth post-test.

Stupid question: is our team totally out?

My question too. I think so :pensive::sob:

I think so. The top 10 teams based on the sum of all the scores go on to the team final. Unless several other teams also have a rider eliminated, I think the US is completely out as a team.

Think the most we can hope for are good results individually for Steffan and Adrienne. Not sure if it’d be possible for us to qualify for Grand Prix Special now

Can they sub in a reserve rider for a penalty?

Looks like a cut on the RH at the top of her stocking. I would suspect that happened during her antics outside. :sob:

I’m not sure they can sub in the alternate except in cases of medical issues.

Just heartbreaking for the team. It did look like the judge/steward was walking around her, not just looking at her mouth. She was pretty wild at the in-gate so I could see how she might have banged herself or something else happened. I thought she looked even but maybe was getting progressively tighter in the neck and higher in the poll as the test progressed (?).
