Olympic Dressage

It’s all about public perception.

Making me pretty sad as it was the music from a certain Freestyle from Tokyo that I now can’t watch with any sort of joy

I thought he did a great job. I didn’t realise what short notice he had. Incredible work.

Jon Kyle has been doing this for many years, but I have noticed recently he has been doing less and less of the commentary. So far this morning, and I have just joined this morning with this group, He has hardly spoken at all, leaving it mostly to Lucinda. Not a big deal, but I have always enjoyed listening to him so it is a bit puzzling.

My horse is all white and plays hard, I’d be so screwed if it was me :joy:

I wish they were allowed to wear boots. Especially since this type of thing can be elimination. She was clearly upset as the other horse was leaving and he did such a good job of getting her back.

Got such a soft spot for the Iberian horses. Totally different picture from the warm bloods.

I was looking away but it sounded like Castilla Ruiz’s horse had some things to say during the reinback :joy:

Harry Potter for the walk work right now!

Not to mention they wrap and/or boot the hell out of the dressage horses normally!! It’s almost a disadvantage in this situation.

He’s a four-time Asian Games gold medalist, and I think he’s improved a lot since he won those!~
Horses are slooooooooooowly becoming more interesting to the public over here (I moved to Korea for work); mostly in the racing scene BUT I really hope the country can invest more into other aspects of the sport.

I’m childless but the comment about Alisa having 5 children and possibly not being able to train Abercrombie further and go to LA left me shocked. :open_mouth:

What a bummer to be eliminated over a tiny wound unrelated to horse welfare. But blood is blood I suppose.

To me it’s so explainable vs. blood in the mouth or from a spur! I am so sad for Marcus and the team. It’s very obviously not rider inflicted.

Jon is one of the best ones out there for equestrian sports. He has some health issues if I remember correctly from an interview he did with Sinead Halpin-Maynard

He might be exhausted from all the eventing commentary he did already!

I wish Lucinda would stop saying that some horses have “an extra vertebra”

Yes he has been “on” for a not-insignificant amount of time already.

The Swiss horse had a lovely outline from what I saw. Too bad about the last halt!
