Olympic Dressage

I, too, do not want to move during my “bio-breaks”, Lucinda.

Portuguese rider had a poop stop!

And if not for her white sock, it might not have even been noticed at all during the test.

I wonder if he’s feeling the heat just doesn’t seem to want to go forward and any excuse…

Yes Caetano seems to be struggling to keep some impulsion. :sob: I’m impressed that the horse kept the same “nonchalance” (as Lucinda said) and still nailed the one tempis though.

Agree. That first canter pirouette I could practically feel the horse roll its eyes.

I like that horse a lot but he just seems so flat today.

Agree. Just not showing quite the level of collection expected. Maybe the heat

It is currently 95 degrees F / 35C in Paris, so I bet this won’t be the only horse that feels this way.

I wonder whether they would have been eliminated after coming out of the ring when the blood likely would have been noticed even on a dark leg. I believe that is what happened with the Italian eventer who had a beautiful dressage test, but was eliminated at the post test check when it was discovered the horse had bit its tongue.

Might also be due to how much our sport has been hammered for “too much collection” even when it really isn’t and the horse looks comfortable. I think everyone’s trying to ensure they don’t upset those who don’t understand the sport as much and could also be not wanting to tire them out before the freestyles?

For a second I thought she said “baño break”

Wow that’s a tight neck. :frowning:.

Is Helix normally this tight in the neck?

I was wondering the same thing.

A piece of bit over the nose? He’s out!

I did not hear that. It would be a good reason. Thanks!

SInce I don’t follow upper level Dressage as much, I have never seen Helix before. His front end was very showy but not so his hind end.

I will give Jane the benefit of the doubt because of her entry - I think Marcus rode what he had, but this is now the second US dressage horse we’ve seen who is really tense / in a U shape.
