well, it is a very strange jump. It is sharply angled with the top closer to the front than the bottom. But no one (that I have seen,) has had it down.
what does it have to do with pentathalon?
They have a swimming event.

I hope this link works
Re the Japanese riders-- their performances in the first team qualifier are not representative of their ability or experience!
Eiken Sato is based in Europe and has spent a considerable amount of time there since he was a teenager. He worked for Stephan Conter’s Stephex Stables alongside Daniel Deusser, etc. for many years.
Taizo Sugitani is jumping at his seventh Olympics-- he’s been based in Europe since 1996. Doesn’t really have a championship-caliber horse at the moment but gave it a real try.
Of course, I have to hop on a teams meeting JUST as Laura is about to go in!
Speaking of Japan, Takashi just put in a beautiful clear!
Mentioning her age again…at least he made it sound like a good thing this time.
4 for Laura.
Ugh 4 for Laura.
Hopefully she stays faster of the 4s and can stay in the top 30.
A couple lucky rubs and then the one down.
similar to Tamie (eventing) who has been referred to as “the galloping granny”
would all the 4 faults not go through to the final?
or do they cut off at 30 qualifiers based on the fasted 4 faulters?
I am of course assuming there will not be 30 clear rounds
I believe that after Tokoyo, the riding part of the Pentathalon was discontinued.
Thanks for sharing … these jumps are stunning.
But for some reason, that oddly angled jump doesn’t have a description, darnit.
Still have equestrian in Pentathlon this Olympics. Turns into cycling next time.
i think it is still in
they would have to change the name or add in a different 5th sport if riding is removed.
after Tokyo, I wish it were removed, or at least reduced to 2’9" or 3’
Not cycling, an obstacle course.
Not United Touch’s day.
It looked as though Richard tried to gun it down the last line in the hopes of staying in contention with a fast 4-fault round, and it didn’t pay off.
Richard and United Touch S
What a shock from United Touch. So unlike him lately.
