Anyone else’s Corgi a bit obsessive compulsive? My Sally is completely obsessed with fetch, and she’ll play it with anything and anyone. Her mom was the same way. The other Corgi’s I have fostered have not been that way at all.

Food isn’t even a top priority for her. It’s not that she doesn’t love it, Lord knows if the vet tells me one more time that she needs to lose a few, I’m going to scream, but she will always take fetch over food.
How true, We have 2 Cardigans. Efan who is 12 and Emme who is 7 months. Emme is a distant cousin of Efan, from the same breeder.

And then last year I got an e-mail from his breeder saying she had got his full brother returned to her and if I wanted him. Well hello of course! He’s umm well a Goliath of corgis.

My corgi is OCD about a little toy fox wrapped around a water bottle he picked out at Petco! It looks just like him…
LOL, I think Tucker has found her pinup corgi! She says “See, I TOLD you we could just be big boned!”
And she’s obsessed with squeaky toys. Particularly the cloth kind.
Ok now I just have to share a picture! Even though I’ve already shared details. Our family is nearly deaf from the barking and NONE of our outfits are complete without dog fur but they are the best: (from right to left Rosie, Lilly, and Petey aka the BIG man, all red-headed tri’s)

Casey corgi runs jumbo as well - 42-47lbs when trim and fit - more cardi than pem size. Sadly (for Casey, anyway) my Maine Coon male is bigger than him!

Well I’m glad to see others have “oversize” corgis. Mine is 32-33lbs at ideal weight… which is technically high according to standards for females.

Pems are being bred larger now, and the bigger boned dogs are what is winning in the ring. My biggest male is 47 at slightly heavy and 42 is what most would consider a good weight. My younger male is about 37#, a little longer in the leg and much less bone although not flimsy by any means.
My corgi is obsessed with her frisbee. She has a really annoying, especially piercing bark when she wants to play frisbee (which is everytime we go outside). The chi steals it from her all the time though - such a ferocious little dog!
I love the photos of the dog jumping the cavalletti - I do that with my dogs and it cracks me up.
Monste, your red-headed tri’s are adorable! I never heard of them referred to that way but it is a good description! They look so happy.

Bluey, they are master shedders as are just about all herding dogs. When I had my rough collie and my corgi together it was tough!
MajesticDestiny, I love the name Kona (like Kona Gold the great race mare!) and she is lovely. That is a BIG corgi. I’ve seen a few. Not to be a jerk as far as wanting designer dogs, but I would have actually liked a mini-corgi if there is such a thing. My Sasha is a bit too big to take everywhere like I do with my Chihuahua. A 12 pounder would be great. I say that, but really I would not advocate any more designer dogs lol.
Oh, please, no one tell Tucker 30+ pounds is the new 25 or I’ll never get her to exercise more! (She does have the ‘spay tummy’.)
DMK–a Maine Coon bigger than a 42lbs corgi? That is not a house cat. That’s a bobcat with a tail. (Not that size matters. My 17lbs “giant” cat routinely smacks the 40lbs dogs. Why? Because he can.)
Eta: Psst, witherbee…unless he’s had a sex change, Kona Gold is/was a gelding.

I think you are the 2nd person that I’ve heard that from. My male is 40lbs. My friend says his head is the size of a german shepard. :lol: Next to him, my 25lb female looks like a runt. I’ve also had people tell me that her confirmation is the ‘old’ style…her coat isn’t as fluffy, smaller delicate head and her legs are a little taller.

I walk with a group of people one day a week at a leash-free dog park. We take tennis balls and throw them down the trail as we walk. Both of mine are ball-obsessed, too. Neither of them can outrun the Aussie that is also ball-obsessed - she always gets to the ball first. However, one of mine will just run up on the Aussie and steal it right out of her mouth. Or deliberately run into the Aussie’s front end, causing her to drop the ball, then my other Corgi steals the bouncing ball.
Partners in crime, I keep telling you. :lol:
