I recall an essay written by Katie Prudent about rich kids getting nice horses and blowing US chances for winning.
Maybe it was in the Chronicle?
Was surprised she was so honest, since she was training one of those rich kids.
This. Weâve got some powerhouses, but not a ton in the wings with the experience to handle the pressure. If it takes a few bumpy rides to get the ânext generationâ ready when the time comes, so be it. Iâd rather see it happen now while we still have the seasoned riders to fill out the ranks vs down the road. Just my opinion.
Starts in 10 mins
53 degrees, a little overcast. Winds at 8 mph.
Good day for the horses.
Em
Watching it now with my fingers crossed for both a continued live stream and a good result for the US. I got a little confused at first glance with this Mexican rider. Is the collar on his jacket green?
I thought it was an American rider, and I was trying to think who had a gray horse. Lol.
Is there a way to watch the streaming other than on CMH? I pulled up something on panamsportschanel.org but all itâs showing me is the same 5 minute clip over and over again.
Iâm watching it on CMH with no problems. So far. Knock wood.
I tried to watch it on that sports channel site, I think, but they wanted way too much information to create an account to suit me.
OK whatever Iâm watching on repeat on the Pan Am Sports Chanel site Iâm pretty sure is not this yearâŠjust paid closer attention to who the American in the clip was and itâs Eve Jobs (I thought the rider looked younger than Laura!). Off to try to sort out CMH!
Spoiler alert:
Clear round for McLain and Contagious!!
Into the lead so far.
You might have to create a free account.
Ugh I have the worst timed meetings this morning but tuned in just in time to watch McLainâŠdid his job! I love the emperor penguins combination.
Well not the lead Brazil and Canada are still ahead from yesterdayâs results
OK phew, got CMH to work. And itâs showing me actual current rounds so thatâs progress!
Individual lead.
Does anyone else have the feed frozen on Mario Deslauriers?
Never mind, itâs going again.
(1) heâs an average dude who married someone famous (and then got divorced) and therefore heâs viewed as âtoo big for his britchesâ having âmarried upâ and (2) he sometimes dresses non traditionally and acts like a goofball on social media. Any of those things is enough to bring the scorn of a vocal portion of the online horse world on you, for reasons that are unclear to me.
I donât know if heâs a good/bad person or what. His riding and record is what it is and speaks for itself. But none of that is what seems to make people say snitty things about him online. It almost always seems to stem from the two above things.
Oh no Brazil! Zanotelli picks up a refusal at the emperor penguins, who âclaim their first victimâ in the words of the commentator. Watch out for those penguins!
I did not notice that at first since Iâm watching on a small screen. I also love the penguin at the water jump. Lol.
You may want to check your facts. Or maybe your definition of average, I guess. Unless âaverageâ means offspring of billionaire.
For the record, I donât know him personally, or know anything about him other than what is available on the public record.
I donât know much about him but I wasnât a fan of the way he was ripping on the horseâs mouth yesterday. I donât mean when he was getting run off with after the runout but when they showed a few seconds walking out of the ring after his round.
They just started a 15 minute drag break and then Karl Cook will be the next one in the ring right around 11:00 AM Eastern.
I hope he has better luck today.
