Parelli have split

A late friend and colleague of mine once told me that a Parelli show was just like a tent revival.

Is it pointless though if it saves one person that doesn’t know it is totally unsafe from believing it is safe because they saw it here?

Maybe the mind of the wilfully ignorant won’t change, but the truly ignorant are a blank slate that shouldn’t be damaged.

I am so over the worn-out phrase “willfully ignorant.”

I hear you. If people would just stop embracing willfull ignorance it wouldn’t see so much use.

It’s up there with wildly self important and delusions of influence.

This was in the same conversation where he said, "the two words that can get me to jump back into my truck as fast as possible are ‘Natural Horsemanship’ "

A big assumption that such ignorant people are in this thread, and that if they are then they are reading those posts for comprehension even though the tone is rather spiteful, and if they are reading that they are taking seriously a back-and-forth exchange that is nothing but bickering and badgering.

If someone is asking for the information, then certainly they are open to it. But the question was not asked here.

An informative remark is fine. A clarification of that remark is fine. But pounding away at someone who already has their mind made up is pointless. And a big annoyance to everyone else who is reading through it looking for the real conversation.

I am surprised Jesse Peters (or whatever his name is) would cut loose all that Parelli investment.

Linda must be a compelling marketeer.

There is a discipleship quality to the levels, over the years it’s not hard to glean info on how long time sycophants have been cut loose for doing the wrong thing.

I mean, you look at legit trainers like BB and it’s life on the road like a clinician.

After borrowing a dvd from a gal at the barn and watching Linda Parelli chonking a spooky, one-eyed horse in the face with the hella big lead rope clip dangling under its nose, you could smell the charlatan at 40 paces.

I am sure if she had any shame about the phony she is, she’d quietly go back to the cosmetics industry.

@Haybert - You nailed it.

Except imo JP didn’t cut loose the investment. The Parellis cut it loose. Leaving their investors to choose between them without a clear picture of the future - or even the commitment of Linda and Pat to their separate programs.

A FINAL CHRISTMAS GIFT FROM PAT :frowning:

As if getting divorced was not stressful enough, yesterday Pat filed a 45-page lawsuit in Ocala District Court to try and shut down Happy Horse Happy Life, and demanding damages from me. (From a two month old business)

Despite the fact Parelli had not paid me a salary in almost four years, and that six months of divorce negotiations have netted me nothing. Apparently my new life as a single-woman, should not include me using my thirty years of horse training expertise to make a living on my own…

So much for love, language and leadership… :frowning:

The above is a quote from Linda.

I note she has just been removed from parelli.com too

Thanks for reminding me that uninterrupted gossip is more important than safety concerns!

Seriously, who cares. Chances are gossip would have continued virtually uninterrupted if the replies to the safety concerns hadn’t been as rude as they were.

What evs. I didn’t admire her but I do feel sorry for her. She’s maybe50 something? It’s not easy for a person, particularly a woman who has been associated with a program for 30 or so years to pick up and start over. Even more so if Pat held most of their assets solely in his name.

She’s in her 60s.

My SIL put her DH through dental school working as a school teacher. When he got his practice going she continued to pay the bills while he saved money for their retirement. The house was joint but except for her teachers retirement the rest of the funds were in his name. When he dumped her he got half the house and she got none of the retirement or any of the value of his practice which she paid for.

Men usually fare better in a divorce. I feel sorry for her.

I always got the impression that she was the more business-minded of the two.
I’m surprised that she didn’t plan for some sort of eventual falling out.
Especially since she saw how marriage #1 turned out.

This is my thought too. I don’t think she is the victim she is saying she is.

Even from her own posts, the writing has been on the wall for awhile and it is doubtful that she sat around doing nothing to protect herself.

She certainly should have looked after herself, every person should, but that doesn’t mean she did.

If she’s in her 60’s she’s probably going to have a tough time ahead of her, particularly in this economy.

I don’t like her, I thought that Barney video was awful, I sure wouldn’t attend a clinic of hers, but I wouldn’t want to be in her shoes.

If her new business is distinctly different from the Parelli business, there is a good chance that it will survive the court challenge. Everything from the leadership structure, to written plans & guidelines, to program structure, to customer interaction, all needs to be different.

Even if she has a chance to win, though, it is a huge distraction and expense. It could be months, even years, before this resolves in the legal system. If she does come out ok, hopefully she is able to get reimbursement for attorney expenses and costs.

I wonder what she took away from leaving the business. Was she a part-owner?
