Can someone confirm that her recent video on Dressage Hub is the same Paula who publicly called her out for stealing a photo? I failed to screen cap it but SW did say she posted the stolen photo on purpose to see who she could draw out and she would deliberately make that person’s life hell. I did screen cap a post on Dressage Hub saying that the Paula in the video, SW was specifically using the video to attack her, had not given permission and was disabled before it was deleted.
The video is still there from “superfan Paula”. Poor dear is totally getting killed by the comments. It might be true, but no one is being very nice
Ok, so the creator of ride against hate is acting as an online troll and chortling about it.
At least she doesn’t actually get much traffic to the website beyond trainwreck spotters.
I just made up that word, as far as I know!
Those of us who follow social media drama at a distance.
Yes, the superfan Paula is the same Paula who called her out about the photo theft. Photo was lifted from youtube. Horrific behavior again and again.
What a nasty, petty, sick piece of work she is. So much for being against bullying! It’s telling that SW never posts videos of herself for critique. If she were really interested in helping viewers educate their eye she would include the clinician’s comments so we could learn from and actual expert and not the keyboard variety. And of course she would ask the rider for permission to use her video and not steal and rebrand it. I suppose she has deleted the comments that others posted to that effect?
PS Paula your horse is lovely!
Yeah, she is actually a friend of mine (Paula, I mean!) what a mess,
I don’t see any comments at all. Is it the youtube dressage hub video?
It is on the dressage hub FB page. I saw a couple comments saying that Paula was not a superfan and the video was in fact stolen but those comments got deleted. I did get screencaps of that.
There were 7 comments and they were critiques, as of two hours ago. This is on DH’s page, not SW’s page
Ride Against Hate. That’s so rich in irony it could cure anemia.
Should be called Hate Against Riders.
I can confirm that it was written by the person from whom you copied it.
Why is anyone still interested in this drama? It’s like Day’s of Our Lives for FL dressage people. Talking about it just fans the flames…
You are talking about it as well, so you have your fan right in there with ours.
We are talking about it because it is mistreatment of human beings. And despite the competitiveness of the sport, I personally don’t like seeing anyone abused.
No, it’s not even that hahaha that’s what I find so funny! Ok, yes, she’s bad mouthing some dressage people, but since this person is literally not a rider, not a trainer, not a judge, hell, does she even still own a horse? Like what does it mean other than it’s kind of entertaining?
It’s some total rando nobody going after a) a woman she doesn’t like and b) canadians? cause she’s canadian? Who goes after Canadians?!
It kind of feels like it would be a sketch in a bad canadian public access comedy show…that people didn’t watch hahaha
It sucks…kind of…for SJ. But like, come on, who really follows Dressage Hub or this whack a mole? It will be seven other ladies who also don’t ride and will never ever ever ever be anywhere near the International dressage community.
I wasn’t even aware I followed it until a friend sent me the link because of what I will now call
MARSHMALLOW GATE
And then, not comprehending the whole page was a farce, I tried to educate.
And then I was banned. And then all of ^^^^^^^^^^this^^^^^^^^^^happened, and now, it’s just funny.
I’ll admit: I am easily amused.
ETA the real issue is the theft of people’s material and attempting to profit off of the work of others.
Apparently some 33,000 people follow her, acccording to her Facebook stats, and they really should know the truth about her. That being said, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if she bought followers on fb and insta to make her “brand” look important.
Yeah, but @BigMama1 I bet you 32900 of them don’t even remember they are following that page.
I “follow” probably over 200 horse pages. I’m not paying attention to 195 of those. You just end up following things because you look at one thing and then are basically bookmarking the page, or someone sends you a link to like their page. Ok, sure.
Of my friends, 16 follow dressage hub, and that’s after at least two of us were banned when this whole mess started. Of those 16, I imagine not a single one of them visits the page or even remembers they’re following it.
Well, as a Canadian I find it interesting because she moved back to Canada last week and immediately started up being a wierd troll here too. I’m curious as to how it will all shake out. It’s a much smaller community. I can’t see her making any money.
Followers are an empty metric unless they are growing. People click follow and then forget about it all. A much better metric is reader engagement as shown by comments. She has next to none and deletes half of what she gets. To me her sites look pretty much dead.
When I went to DHub FB I saw the names of a handful of people I know IRL who have liked or follow her. None of them would be interested in the troll aspect. I am sure they all liked when someone forwarded them one of the stolen FEI videos. I mean I like and belong to a bunch of FB groups that I don’t even look at much, and if they went psycho I wouldn’t even know it.
Plus if you scare people off engaging with your site in an effort to control the message you’ve kind of shot yourself in the foot. It’s called social media for a reason.
She’s so clueless about the basic principles of social media management she actually thinks creating these dramas and “going viral” IS engagement, and she’s even bragged about it.
I just realized she has a video of her conversation with the guy at global (but, she says she hadnt been to global so funny, she would have had to be there that day to have this conversation), videoed with her phone facing the ground (and the poor man’s crotch), and she states “I have never portrayed a rider in a bad light”.
Whaaa… what?
I mean, I shouldn’t be surprised, but I am a little surprised that she actually believes her own crap enough to say it with such conviction in that situation.
I hopped over to the youtube because I wanted to see the Paula video. I’m flabbergasted that she’s in such a dreamworld that she’s moved on to pretending someone is her fan just to get other people to pick on her. Awful.
