Really, Dressage Hub?

Yes, both you’re favorite dressage trainer and [she] (that was a term used by someone on NP’s blog linked to above) seem to have missed the point that the Chronicle Forums do not reflect the opinion of the Chronicle of the Horse on-line magazine. Though the Chronicle does moderate the Forums and keeps things within decent bounds.

LOLing at the fact Nick Peronace thinks Dressage Hub is a “credible site.”  Maybe he and Susan will make training videos together to teach us all how dressage should be done.

For those just finding this thread, Dressage Hub is a site dedicated in part to continuing the proprietor’s sick personal vendetta against Susan Jaccoma.

Her horse did not have a blue tongue.

Dressage Hub is banned from many showgrounds due to the vindictive bullying spin they put on many of the things they film.

Dressage Hub also inserts tracking cookies, and cookies from third parties, which can make viewing COTH problematic.

I also talked to Susan myself, (Not IRL, I live too far away) and she confesses that she videos with out permission.

I know for a fact she stole a rider’s private youtube video and published it, allowing a huge pile on, self edited by SW to showcase the worst, because this rider spoke out (This rider is a friend).

(Edited to remove reported stealing of videos)

Ok, well 2 of the three statements are factual. Please delete the quote and I can remove the nonfactural stealing of Dressage training online (it may be proven by others, but I was not involved)

This is not gossip, I am following your example of laying out the backstory.

Likewise, please remove any statements of yours that are not varified, and have others do the same.

You do know I hope… that EVERY website on the planet does this. No news… no conspiracy. Carry on.

What’s the difference between what she does and what Epona does? I think it depends on whose video is getting trashed. If it’s someone you like, then it’s bad. If it’s someone you don’t like, have at it.

I only know a little bit about what went on with Dressage Hub and SJ and others. Not really interested or have time for it. I will say that the little bit I’ve watched of Dressage Hub, I found it worthwhile.

DH literally [copies] your youtube content, slaps her intro and ending on it, and posts it to her youtube account. What you found “worthwhile” is content others have put in the time and effort to create.
The only content DH actually creates is crap.

If you can’t tell that’s an EventionTV vid DH [copied] and gave zero credit for,

She is asking fans to pay for her site-

Direct quote:

Four years ago I came up with the idea to bring the magical world of Wellington to riders around the planet via YouTube. Today Dressage Hub continues to bring the best riders, coaches, vet’s, experts and support teams from Wellington, right to your stable anywhere in the world! That is truly magical!

In doing so we have created one of the coolest place on the internet where the fans have become as awesome as the videos, thus creating a community of people who are looking for a fresh and positive place to enjoy their horses on the internet without drama or judgement.

I could not be happier to have created a community that loves and enjoys the 500 videos we have on YouTube already. With almost 10 million views I am looking forward to an even bigger and better future for our little happy place on the internet.

I have made the decision to make Dressage Hub fan funded as it allows me to be the voice of riders and put riders first. If Dressage Hub move to become funded by sponsors we then become the voice of corporations like all other media in the equestrian industry. I want to be a #riderfirst media second.

Here is a list of things we need to fund over here at Dressage Hub

  • Cloud based storage - lots of it!
  • A new microphone for better audio on videos
  • Monthly software fees.
  • Food and gas for filming in Wellington
  • Building a website to host the full length lesson videos
  • Travelling to new locations to bring new instructors and riders to our YouTube Channel.
Thank you to everyone who has been a fan over the past 4 years. You have made Dressage Hub a very cool place where I am happy to hang out! Love you all!

it is clinic watching time! If we meet our pledge of $500, this will allow me to make arrangements to travel to film some of the best clinicians around the world and bring them right to your stable! So get pledging so I can start packing to make Dressage Hub awesomer!

Wow. That’s a pretty low class thing to do.

Is she asking for “donations” or taking money to show the “donor” somebody else’s videos ?

She seems to be asking for money to fund the current site and to do things like pay travel frees and cloud storage… I don’t see that this is a subscriber service, where members get to see videos and the rest of us do not.

It’s a real shame, I really enjoyed the content of DH a few years ago, before I knew [edit]…technically, she has a lot of issues with sound control and quality when she is the one taking the video.

I love watching clinic videos, esp if they are free but I also pay for several subscription services (Happily I might add- very valuable)… it’s a really good thing for the sport to share ideas, when it’s done with ethics and transparancy

Perhaps I skimmed it too quickly, but my take on it was that if you are a ‘donor’ for a certain amount, you can ‘unlock’ videos. The only people that can see the videos are paying donors. There is a graduated fee, with the least expensive being $10 a month.

[edit] I still found the videos I watched educational. I’m talking about videos from the BNT forums, etc. Also, some of the money she brings in will be spent on improving the sound and other things.

Everyone is free to hate on this lady for whatever reason, valid or not. Personally, I find her to be a very talented entrepreneur.

So, you’re cool if I take any content you make for your business, rebrand it as my own, and attempt to earn money off of your content? That’s your idea of a “talented entrepreneur”?!

It took me five seconds to find one out of a ton of copied videos on DH. You’re choosing to remain ignorant because it didn’t harm you, yet.

Really wish you’d actually read the whole thread instead of cherry picking.

I have read the whole thread, and I have no interest in arguing with people. Bye now.

Well that’s definitely low class to do. It cost quite a lot of money and time to produce each episode for EventionTV and that money came directly out of Dom and Jimmie’s pockets. I wonder how they’d feel about that.

The difference is Epona publishes their own content. Epona tries to film the entire warm up, not focusing on one rider. I have never seen Epona pull one bad looking still photo out of an otherwise nice video and post it on their site with disparaging comments about the rider. I have ever seen the owners of Epona claim on their personal pages that they are using Epona to “get revenge” on riders they have a beef with.

Epona seems generally concerned with horse welfare and exposing abusive riding.

DH, by her own admission on her own personal pages, is interested only in generating clicks and views and in making riders she doesn’t like look bad.
