Thanks to everyone for the quick recovery of the site!
I’m sure both of these have already been mentioned, but I didn’t read through all 10 pages.
From the topic menu (e.g. Eventing"), If I use the blue double-arrow icon to jump to the last post of a thread, then realize I actually need to go to the second-to-last page I click the page number or “previous” to get me to the correct page. Either way, from there, the browser “back” arrow no longer works to return me to the last page of the thread. Instead it just reloads the page I’m currently on. (I use Firefox, in case it’s a browser issue.) Sorry this is confusing!
My second comment is less a glitch, but I miss having any comments by a thread’s OP flagged as being made by the OP. It was much easier to follow the conversation.
That knowing who the original poster is and the tab under poster’s name with location are two features I think have been mentioned by several as very useful and hoping will be re-instated.
These requests are very helpful, gives the ones working on this an idea of what to work for, good to keep them refreshed.
In trying to edit thread titles, apparently the edits are visible to others but not to me, the OP.
I can see the edit to the title in my notifications screen, but when I view the thread title from the section it’s in, the old version remains.
I can see the edit if the thread is in the forum preview, so most recently posted in, but once I go into the forum itself it’s the old unedited text. This is safari on my phone. Firefox on my hard drive also shows the unedited text. Still have Windows 7, and the phone is an older OS.
Chrome on Windows 10 shows edited text for me.
Someone had that problem yesterday and it just took time for the title edit to show every place.
Strange bug that one, will have to be chased down in the different pages?
If something isn’t show up, try to force a cache re-load of the page (on a keyboard, usually shift + reload )
How about making the ignore list work?
This is a problem with Vbulletin, not the forum so though it is something we would love to work it is not likely to get fixed any time soon.
Chrome, Win10 here.
Threads that I have commented in no longer show up in bold when new posts are added, even after reloading the forum and several (unrelated to this issue) restarts. “Last post” takes me to a random post (not my own) that is not the last post in the thread.
I just had that problem, using last post tab went to several pages before last page, several times now?
Crazy glitch, makes you wonder where you are in that thread, posts don’t make sense, until you realize the page you landed in is several days old, not last post.
Maybe this is like that old movie, The Ring– right after I posted above, my glitch went away. Looks like I gave it to you instead. Sorry about that!
It did it again after I posted about it, has not since, but it has not been that long to know if it bounced on to some other hapless poster.
I am noticing this as well but it’s also happening on my phone using Safari.
When I click to enter COTH, some times I get thru, others, just a blank page.
When changing pages, some times it works, others, a blank page, have to exit and if I try re-entering right away, still a blank page.
After a bit, try again and maybe I can get in then, or not.
Makes it hard to manage like that.
and that is is getting progressively worse, appears to not favor one platform or the other as I think every one is being affected Started out a few days ago
I can reload to CoTH main page …not to bulletin board without problem… but attempt to access the forum …get the windy little dial going and going and going and going and going
Yes, that was my problem.
Working very unpredictably and bumps you off.
I have been assuming they were working on it and turning it on and off to check?
I caught this with the glitch that freezes COTH page when I tried to post and then just sits there as a white page for minutes:
Error while saving content: %1$s
error_information_x-1
Seems one error could be in the saving information program?
Didn’t do it with this post, so who knows.
I have the same issue. Windows 10 Firefox.
