As others said… sloooow…
intermittently so slow it times out on my laptop. Then on both laptop and tablet I can only “Like” a couple of posts before it starts with the spinning thing and then the session’s effectively done. I’m sure the Liking and spinning/stopping is not cause and effect, though.
All of the slow to load and timeout issues seem like the server is not responding. Which would be hardware, not software, problem.
Maybe that’s what clanter is taking about.
Looks like spasmodic colic this AM.
Slow to load, hangs if I try to “like” a post.
Best description of it yet!
That is my experience this morning too.
I am having trouble with the site crashing/not loading SEVERAL times per day. I also cannot log in on Chrome even though I am positive that I am using the correct password. I also requested a password email be sent using Chrome, I never got an email./ Thankfully I am already logged in using Internet Explorer. I am unable to post new topics, and I am not certain that this comment will even post. Never had any of these issues with the forums before the recent update. This sucks.
This shows just fine. :encouragement:
I will add that I keep having to log back in too. I think I went years with out having to log in and in the last week I have had to do it several times (and yes, I have the remember me box checked).
Agree… Slow to load. 30+ seconds, depending.
In my past experience, the ‘server’ from the outside looking in starts at the software layer and works down to the hardware. If the ‘server’ is not responding, then no real way to know where in the stack the problem really is…
I just got an update that they should be doing a lot of work again this week – doing another quick software version update and checking that it’s working, reintegrating the Forums with the main site, getting ad bars back (sigh…I know, but we have to pay the bills  ), reimplementing some caching and other strategies that should improve performance issues. I don’t know if they’ve already been monkeying around with things and that’s why it’s been sporadically spazzing, but hopefully after this week, we’ll be seeing some improvement in the performance.
They do want to explore a different platform than vBulletin, but it poses a bit of a daunting task in terms of migrating data and getting the community potentially used to a completely different platform…so I don’t know if that will come to pass any time in the foreseeable future.
Thank you @Moderator 1 for keeping us informed.
Been on and off all afternoon and not once, not once, has it quit, kicked me out, blank pages, the glitch of the last weeks happened.
You did good, finally some stability, BIG THANKS!
I’m the ‘other one’
It’s been consistently _______?
awful today regardless of device or task
Oh, my, that doesn’t make sense?
We were all having similar problems for some two-three weeks.
Why now some don’t, others still have those problems???
Error Saving Like
COTH Emojis are gone/not working
They show up as that Windows Image icon with appropriate verbage, i.e. " Smile : )" , but when selected, do not appear in a post
@Moderator 1 Do not apologize for ads, easy enough to ignore
At least they aren’t the ones with sound from some time ago. Very NSFW!
Thanks everyone… I’m going to test an emoji then report back this morning’s feedback.
@2DogsFarm That one worked for me. Are you still having the issue? If so, what browser/version are you using to access the site?
Anyone else having emoji issues?
Emoji test (Chrome, no idea what version)
Edit to add - seems to work fine for me.
YES does this:lol:
