I realize that, it just happened that I was having better luck with my phone than the Mac at the times I was using either of them. The COTH website isn’t responding to my Ipad at all. I think we’re all grasping at the last fraying strings before the entire site either gets fixed or goes belly up for everyone.

Yeah, all day today I’ve had the favorite that won’t work to access the site. I keep thinking maybe it’s the windows 9 Im still running but looks like it’s a many flavored thing.
It logs me out on its own every stinking time but has me halfway logged in when I can get back, so just a keystroke logs me in.
Um, it also really doesn’t like moving through pages so if i start by reading ahead in a thread and I am at the bottom of the thread the page button doesn’t work. At the top of the thread the pages are enumerated differently with the little arrow boxes and I can usually change it there, after I scroll all the way back up to the top.
It’s not necessarily a bad thing that we can’t all give and take on a thread as some of the CE are contentious, but I think maybe we miss finer points since people have to give up and walk away, then by the time they can come back the thread has gone off on a tangent and the moment is gone. I think it’s got a more negative effect on the equine threads if people can’t get online to research or pose questions, especially if they can’t even get it to open while they are logged out.
Did we not use Php at one point in time? We’ve been through about 4 changes that I can recall. And I’m going to test an emoji as I still see them, well, maybe I don’t, I’m in edit and have two windows now, oh dear

So far today the forum is being a jerk. Why could it not have waited until this afternoon?

I can easily get onto CoTH main page, easily navigate within that from topic from topic or even another page until I select Forums …then it is just a the spinning wheel of death.
About 20 minutes ago, the endless wait so I moved on. Then magically the fairy unicorn appeared and sprinkled fairy dust over the server and at least now it’s behaving itself.

It sounds like it is time to look for a different software provider. What bull are they telling COTH to keep them on as a customer?

Mod 1 has mentioned in this post a few times that alternative BB software may be considered.
If new BB software is chosen, it won’t be implemented over this weekend

@Moderator 1 Not exactly a ‘glitch’ but I’ve noticed that ever since the reboot, the site is very very slow to load. Once I get past the initial launch, it moves along ok. This problem exists across multiple devices and different wifi networks. I use Chrome.
Very very slow to non-responsive at random times all this week. Prior to this it was pretty good most of the time.

Trying to save again, was very very slow and then got Error Trying To Save
It appears that the servers used by COTH are borked, as far as the forum and it’s BB interface goes. Everything else appears to be running flawlessly, at least for me. I have no issue accessing the main COTH site and sub-sections, just the forum.
Last two days, worse than ever slow for me.
About less than 50% of times trying can get on the forums at all, just a blank page forever.
Once on board, for several minutes, never know when next click to change pages will again be a blank page and no more connection.

I mostly cannot use the site anymore. Most often, it simply won’t open. When and if I do get to access the site, it is slow or impossible to move among sections. Say I start looking at the Eventing section and then want to see what’s up in Hunter/Jumper. I cannot get the new choice to open.
Even within a thread I often cannot go on to the next page - it simply will not load.
For this user the site is essentially non-functioning almost in the entirety. I hardly ever try anymore.
ETA: this wouldn’t post after many tries. I got a variety of error messages including something about a security token.

This is pretty much my experience now also. It took me several hours to get the site to work long enough to come over here to post this.

It’s so slow for me, too. What is happening? It is only the forum; the main site works fine for me and is not slow at all.
The lack of facility has also affected the number of new posts and threads so there is nothing much going on even when I do laboriously view a page. You can tell that a lot of posters have just given up on it. I hope this is not a permanent trend because I really enjoy the forum.
I also do not want to be hogging threads and boring people with too many posts, especially one immediately after another, which can happen if I’m not careful and if no one else is saying anything. It also happens lately for those of us who want to edit in an added comment but we don’t want to go to Edit Purgatory when it gets flagged, and the easy solution is just to make a new post. Still, I don’t like to see it so I have refrained from some comments lately because I want to avoid that situation.
