Report Site Glitches here!

@Moderator 1 All of the above is the same for me. Whatever the issue is, there has been no improvement.

Weird that in this day and age that this seems to be such an insurmountable problem.
.

Things are running very quick this morning, no white pages and lost connection, other than smileys are still the little blue square?

I wonder if some problems are related to volume of users?

along with software issues, the hardware is screwed… the actions give the appearance of overheating.

The main page of CoTH has Always loaded without issue for me, I can navigate from article to article from section to section without an issue. The Forums must be on a separated system

But for a Free service is what you pay for/

From what mod1 has said, the problem is not insurmountable just that they are thinking of fixing the problem by looking into a new platform so instead of spending lots of man hours fixing this they are going to spend that time setting up something new.
At least that is what I hope is happening.

i am on west coast and at 7am, ponderously slow. it is becoming not worth the wait

Yes, the developers are actively pursuing switching the entire Forums over to a new platform, as balance is clearly shifting in the time and effort required to continue to limp along with vBulletin.

If it’s any consolation, I’m having all the same problems too, so I feel your pain!

I believe they are redirecting their efforts into investigating “the big switch” vs. fixing some of the issues here, which we appreciate is very frustrating!

I can assure you though, that the magazine powers that be recognize the value of this community. They are not turning a blind eye to the fact that the Forums are not functioning properly and are actively pursuing long-term solutions to provide an improved experience for our users.

We appreciate you and your patience!

COTH is using the same developers? The ones who allowed hackers in?

Appreciate the update. Yesterday and today pages are taking a couple of minutes to load, or timing out.

Yes, this morning around that time and for at least an hour before and after, it was unusuable

Everything seems to be working fine now and it’s loading quite quickly too.

Loving the way it’s running this evening, A++

Running really spiffy in the middle of the night.

Still wondering if some of the glitches are not part of bottlenecks during heavy traffic?

8:30 am ET and running quite nicely!

PASHAW !!!

That’s probably true but it has nothing to do with vBulletin. Much like a Wifi plan for your house or data plan for a cell phone, the server is what determines the resource load. Guests here utilize the same bandwidth as members while nosing around because they have access to all but a few forums.

Who’s Online (at the time of this posting)
There are 210 member(s) and 2513 guest(s) online. Showing 1–10 of 2723 users.

FYI – it was slow going to navigate here and post anything. 30-ish seconds between screens if I was lucky.

Could not get on the forum for awhile last night and this morning I could only get here by doing a google search and tagging on to some old thread. It’s just weird.

I’m not sure I’m understanding your question, but I think you’re seeing that this thread, which is the first non-stickies thread in this forum, was started on June 5…but it is the thread with the most recent new post on it, which is why it appeared first on the list.

Does that make sense with what you’re seeing?

The “development team” is our group of tech folk behind the scenes that manage our company’s technological needs. They are not the ones who designed vBulletin, the software that is giving us all these problems at the moment and that had a vulnerability that the hackers took advantage of. They are the ones who fix things when they break and saved the site when we were hacked.
