I have two horses that could use some riding. I do ride the mare currently but have a baby and a demanding job and she could use a day or two a week of additional riding. We keep them at home, no arena or even lighted area to ride at the moment (just grass field), but do have access to several miles of subdivision road (mainly farmettes) to hack out. I have a dressage instructor that comes in, and ship out to H/J instructors nearby. Occasionally make trips to local greenways.

1. WB gelding, 16.3(approx.), very well trained, fancy, but old injury leaves him unsuitable for jumping or serious dressage. Very forgiving and safe as long as you can stay out of his mouth. Big gaits so needs a rider with independent seat or one who is not too proud to grab mane in 2-point if necessary (which is what my beginner husband did when he rode him on trails). Lots of fun to hack out/ trail ride on.

2. TB mare, approx. 16.2, big bodied. Needs experienced rider with very good flatwork/dressage skills. Basically sane and sensible but can be hot. When hacking out, has occasional explosions where she does airs above the ground (not trying to get rid of rider, just…exuberant). Will try to sucker you in to hanging on the inside rein. May be available for occasional jumping lessons if you have good flatwork skills, as she is a wonderful, very honest jumper.

Good opportunity for someone who just wants saddle time on nice horses and the opportunity for lessons, and is comfortable riding outside of the ring. Would love some company when I hack out on the mare, and eventually when I start the filly. If you are interested and capable I may also be able to connect you with a mount to lease for foxhunting and could take you with me to meets, assuming I make it out with the mare this season.

Riderless Horse in NJ- Opportunity to show Made 3 foot horse

I posted this once before, and got some email replies, but given that I had changed emails, I never got to check them till a few months later! (SO SO SORRY!) So I am posting again, in trying to find in the perfect match.

Horse is located about 10 minutes for Great Adventure in Central NJ.

We are currently competing, and doing well, in the 3 foot hunter ring, but given that I teach and the school year has arrived, my riding time will be drastically cut. So I am looking for someone who would like to ride at least 3 days a week with the opportunity to show as well.

About the horse:
He’s 16 hands, 13 years old, easy, laid back kind of guy. He’s a barn favorite and its difficult not to fall in love with him. He’s a fun ride, has a fabulous canter, and even nicer jump. He is NOT green and can be ridden by beginners. (has taught many adults and children how to ride.) Despite being beginner-friendly, he really thrives with a more capable rider. He has auto-lead changes, and enjoys being challenged. He goes out on the trails alone or in company and doesn’t bat an eye. We also enjoy hooking sleds up to him in the winter and going sledding and skijoring.

He is the go-to guy at the barn. A new beginner? Tazzy can teach her. Foal needs a babysitter? Tazzy will do it. Another horse is afraid to load and needs some confidence? Piece-of-cake Tazzy self-loads.

Barn is private with a huge outdoor sand ring, washstall, large grass paddocks and state park access directly from the property.

Horseless Rider- Missoula, MT

I just moved to Missoula to start grad school. I’m horseless since I had to put my mare down this spring and am really itching to get back in the saddle again!

I’m an eventer, but would love to ride dressage or h/j horses too. I went through my C3 in pony club and have ridden through training, and have schooled some prelim. I’m not picky though and certainly don’t need to be riding something that’s competing at that level!

Riderless horses in Northern VIrginia

I have a couple of older, sound Warmblood broodmares that would love to have a person grooming/riding, treating them. I am no longer breeding them. They are available for half or full leases. They are nice movers, good jumpers (small jumps), and easy to ride.

I’m a competitive dressage rider looking for a horse to get my last Bronze medal scores (3rd level) or beyond, as my horse is injured and will be out for quite a while. References available. Horseless in Los Angeles

I’m 26 yrs old, have been riding pretty much my whole life. As a junior, I owned two horses and showed competitively in the northeast (I’m originally from Connecticut) – mostly equitation, some hunters and some jumpers. For the past year I’ve been riding at an eventing barn, so also have some additional experience with dressage and x-country.

Looking for a horse to ride a couple days a week – weekends are great, or weeknights if not too far away (I live in Hollywood and work in Studio City) Happy to do some barn work (mucking, cleaning tack, etc.) in exchange for the rides or for a discount, as I cannot afford much!

I’m 5’8", 125 lbs, so can ride just about anything size-wise, including ponies (I don’t mind looking a little silly!!)

popping on again since this thread has gotten so long! i got a very nice PM from someone offering me a ride, but they are too far from me so it wouldn’t work out. :no:

24 years old, reliable, responsible rider doing 1x week lessons and looking for some extra saddle time. Been riding for about 14 years, hunters/jumpers/eq/dressage/one western pleasure lesson, haha. Currently making my way into the 2’9/3’ jumper ring and having a blast. Have shown up to 1st level dressage and played around in 2nd. 5’4" and 120lb, so hefty medium/large ponies are not out of the question! I am not picky and would be happy to hack just about anything.

Location and time-wise, I work in Bedminster M-F 9-5, ride in Flemington 1 night a week, and live in between the two, so I would be willing to travel to any location within that radius. I’m available after work every night but Tuesday (and sometimes Friday), and occasionally on weekends.

Horseless rider in West Texas (Amarillo area)

Well, this is a long shot, but I figured I might as well see.

I’m going to school in the Amarillo area, and I can’t afford to take lessons. In fact, I can’t even afford it at home (which somehow worked out better for me because a friend lets me ride her horse 3-4 times a week at home) anymore. So I’d love any chance to ride.

I have 9 years of riding experience in a variety of english disciplines (eventing, dressage, hunter/jumper, equitation) and a tiny bit of western riding experience (I’ll ride western if I have to, but I really suck at it). I’ve ridden green horses, and a variety of breeds of horses (including some smaller types, like welsh cobs). I have in the past jumped up to 3ft, but I haven’t ridden a horse capable of doing more than 2-2’6" in the past couple years, and I haven’t had lessons in over a year.

Two horses to lease in Newnan, GA

I am trying to find a rider for my Holsteiner mare. I have too many and not enough time for her and she is way too nice to be sitting around just looking pretty. She is 16 yrs old, about 16 hands, bay, very attractive feminine mare. Sound, healthy. She does lower level dressage, but could prob. go much higher with someone who worked on it with her. She can jump and loves to do it. She trail rides but not alone, in a group she is great. She’s a follower. Easy keeper and loader.

She’s be great for an intermediate to advanced rider as she is a bit sensitive
and not for a beginner. She has always been good in my lessons.

She may possibly be for sale if it were a great situation. She can stay here for on-site lease or maybe a local farm if approved.

The other horse is on-site only and is a QH mare, 15 yrs old. Wonderful, can do anything with her. 15.3 solid, safe, sound mare. English and trails.

Horseless rider Long Island NY

I have ridden for the majority of my life but after some time off I decided to get back in the saddle last year. I was taking lessons once a week but due to financial restraints i am unable to continue and missing it dearly! would love more time in the saddle and to spend some time with yours while you are unable.

I would also like to add that during my junior riding/show career as a youth I was top of my class at all if the shows i did and I was either champion or reserve at all of the shows. However it has been some years but i was schooling up to the 3’6 hunter jumper and Equitation showed at A shows including 5 years of ribbons at the Hampton Classic .(also had some training in dressage).
