Riderless Horses and Horseless Riders--matchmaking service!

Horseless Rider - SE Wisconsin

I have a nice, fancy warmblood mare that did the hunters, then dressage but has had a few years off to be a mom. Not currently working but ready to start back anytime. Experienced riders preferred. I don’t have an indoor but will consider splitting costs to board her.

Riderless Horses in Chester Springs, PA

I have a number of wonderful American Saddlebred dressage horses who would love dance partners! They range from green to schoolmasters, and all are affectionate and fun to be around. I do not have an indoor, but I do have a full size dressage ring with excellent sand/rubber footing.

If you are an intermediate or better rider, please contact me. If you would just like to come pet and groom horses, we can do that, too!

Horseless rider for Winter months, SE CT

Interested in helping out someone whose horse(s) is at an indoor facility but may have trouble getting out to ride regularly in the SE CT area. 395 corridor would be ideal! Available most weekday late afternoons & possibly weekends if needed.

I picked the most unusually cold & snowy winter to keep my own horse at a facility sans indoor so he is virtually on vacation and I am dying to ride on a regular basis. Unfortunately I am not in a position to lease at the moment but would be happy to help out with feedings, stall cleaning etc…in exchange whenever possible. Responsible, reliable intermediate adult rider (background in low level eventing) who will take exceptional care of your horse & tack. Prefer sane and sensible

Riderless Horse in NE IL

Thanks for the responses everyone. I’ve found a barn close to my office so he will be able to live there, and I’ll be able to ride on my lunch hour. How cool is that?

Horseless Rider - Austin, TX

Recent transplant to Austin, in grad school, looking for a horse to keep me busy. I sold my four-year-old just before I moved, and am missing spending most of my days at the barn. I love working with green horses (I bought mine just after she was broken), but I’m also happy to work with experienced horses. I’m petite, and am comfortable on both ponies and big horses. I’ve evented through Training level, done jumpers through 3’6, and competed Eq on my college team. I’m taking lessons at a jumper barn down here, but just want a little more time in the saddle, and can’t afford to take more lessons.

Happy to work off lessons/rides/entertain your ideas. Not looking to travel more than 20-30 mins.

Thanks!

Marcella

I sent you an email, but in case that doesn’t work, I’m sending you a PM as well

Riderless horses in the Columbus, OH area

Hello,

I have a couple event horses in the Columbus area that are looking for some more under saddle time.

I’m a busy student, and I work, so my horses have fallen on the back burner lately.

They are at a nice quiet barn with an indoor and outdoor about 35 minutes from downtown Columbus. I have tack that you can use, but you are welcome to use your own saddles if they fit.

They are not dangerous by any means, but I require that you are an experienced confident rider with some understanding of Dressage, or at least willing to take lessons. If you are looking for the opportunity to compete in Eventing or Dressage in the upcoming season, we can discuss that as well.

Thanks!

Riderless horses in Brenham, TX

Okay, so they aren’t actually riderless but there are 4 of them and 1 of me!

Broke but green coming 4-yr-old Oldenburg mare. 15.1hh. Needs confident rider just because she will know if she can get your number! Not dangerous - just very, very smart and will pull tricks if you let her.

Very sweet and quiet coming 6-yr-old Oldenburg mare. 16.1 1/2. Very straightforward ride. Hunter type but we are doing basic dressage. Would also consider leasing this mare to the right rider (off the farm lease available at an approved facility with an approved trainer. Must stay in the Houston/College Station/Austin area however.)

I have an outdoor dressage arena with decent footing and also an an area in back to trail ride.

Horseless Rider in SW Georgia

We recently moved out to Albany, GA and my horse is back in CA. I’ve got 13 years of riding experience–I’ve done lots of hunters, jumpers, and dressage. I worked as an exercise rider for several years and ran a pony camp for five. I’ve ridden lots of greenies and know the ropes.

If anyone has anything to ride within an hour of Albany, that would be soooo wonderful. PM me if you are interested!

Horseless riders in Boulder, CO

Hi

My friend and I are looking for a potential full-lease or half-lease situation in the Front Range area of Colorado.

We both are experienced dressage riders, but for various reasons have been unable to ride for the past few years. We’re now back and ready to ride!

We would be interested in either sharing a full lease, or individually undertaking a half lease. We would prefer a horse that has some background in dressage, but we’d be open to anything! We are very interested in continuing education, and would definitely be willing to take dressage lessons, so if you have a horse that you would like to put some dressage miles on, get in touch!

We would prefer to stay around the Boulder/Longmont area, but suggestions of other areas are welcome.

PM me for more detailed information on our experience, or if you have anything you think might be suitable!

Thanks

Horseless rider in Maryland

My horse died last fall and now I’m slowly getting started looking for a new horse. In the meantime, I need to get some time in the saddle because I’m really missing it, but don’t want to rush into a purchase.

I have ridden hunter/jumpers for 20+ years (am in my late 30s) and taught/trained on and off throughout that time. Don’t mind greenies as long as they’re not crazy! Fairly flexible schedule: evenings, weekends, some mornings while my son is at preschool if it’s close enough. I live in Howard County, but would be willing to travel within 20-30 minutes for some free riding time.

Please PM me if you can help me out or I can help you out!

horseless rider in Columbus OH

Anyone out there willing to give me a little extra saddle time to a beginner? I rode as a teen (2-3 yrs) but have just returned to a lesson program after a 28 year hiatus (been riding about 4 months now). because of our terrible winter weather and lame lesson horses, my lessons have been a bit inconsistent and i’m really missing out on quality saddle time. looking for practice rides!

Riderless Horses in Montgomery County, MD

Therapeutic riding program in Boyds, MD is looking for riders to school and condition its therapy horses. Flexible riding time M-F during winter months, plus Sundays when the footing is rideable outside.

  1. ~14.2 hh Arabian gelding of unknown age. This guy managed to escape New Holland twice! As a result, we don’t know much about his background. He hacks out alone or in company, enjoys low jumping, and gets better the more he works. Fun and forward, but somewhat green in the ring.

  2. 14 year old, 14.2+ hh QHx gelding. He has spent his life as a trail horse, and needs a rider who will educate him about all the other things hand and leg can mean besides “STOP” and “GO.”

  3. 17 year old, 16.2+ hh TB gelding. Imported from Australia to do the jumpers in FL, he made his way to MD where he has done jumpers, eventing, and dressage. No longer able to jump, this horse has a fantastic personality and misses being in regular work. Prefers a confident and tactful rider. He does not want to be a therapy horse, so he is also available for a part-lease or free-lease.

PM for more information.

Horseless Rider – Sonoma County, CA – North of San Fran

Well, I am not horseless, but mine is retired at 23yrs of age and I can’t afford a second one.

Late 40’s rider, seeking to hack around a ring or trails – nothing fancy, just get back in the saddle. Available mostly mid-week when kids are in school/daycare (and I can sneak out of my office).

Rode informally as a child, then caught the h/j bug about 20yrs ago. Never showed much, just rode at the barn in lessons and hacking. Out of the saddle for 5+ years due to kids.

horseless rider in Columbus, OH

Rider in her mid50s, advanced beginner/intermediate. Have taken H/J, western and dressage lessons but prefer to hack around on trails. Willing to take lessons to make sure of a good match.

Riderless Horse near Saratoga Springs, NY

I have a lovely 5 year old TB Mare - unraced. She is about 16.2hh, bay.

During the summer months, she will have no one to ride her, so I’m hoping to find someone who would be interested in keeping her occupied during the months of June, July and August.

This mare is still green, but had a steady and calm start to her education. She has attended a few clinics, and is very level headed. She is a fun project because she is willing and loves to learn.

PM me if this might be a situation that interests you!

Buffalo, NY area

Horseless rider - Northshore Boston area

I am a recent transplant to the Boston area, looking to get back into riding. I have the ability to improve your horse, and was a professional for many years before switching careers.

I have trained with several of the best in the business, have lots of experience showing jumpers and hunters (and a teeny bit of dressage). Several young horses I’ve trained have won at shows like the Hampton Classic and HITS. Did the Eq as a junior.

I am really just interested in riding a nice horse at a nice place with fun interesting people. I’m fine with green horses, but my days of working with the evil ones are over, lol. I currently live in Haverhill, but don’t mind driving a bit for the right situation.

Thanks!

In Maryland!

Hi everyone!
This is a long shot, but I’ve had awesome luck posting here before so I thought I might as well give it try.

I’m going to be on Spring Break from March 21-25 and I’m looking to get insanely fit in preparation for riding at regionals for the last time (I’m a senior!). If you have ponies who need exercise and a good trainer on the property who wouldn’t mind taking on a short-term student I would love to talk with you!

I recently compiled a riding video which I’d be happy to share so you know what your getting yourself into!

Horseless rider KCMO area - all 3 seats

I can ride any/all of the 3 English disciplines or ‘seats’: dressage, Saddle seat, H/J but if the latter, would prefer just to do flatwork. I have both dressage (a MW Jorge Canaves) and LaneFox (Saddle seat) saddles of my own to use if they fit your critter(s). I am quite familiar with a double bridle, as well as have the skills needed to transition a horse from snaffle to double, for any of the 3 English disciplines. I am available most evenings and weekends.

I will treat your horse as diplomatically as you would yourself. I have good hands, independent seat and several decades of riding experience. Horses with a lot of go-forward such as Thoroughbreds, Saddlebreds etc., are definitely my cup of tea; it is much more enjoyable to ride a horse that just needs its energy channeled than to have to continually urge it strongly forward. Unless your horse is prone to rearing, (the one vice I definitely want to avoid), please PM or email me! Thanks.
