Riderless Horses and Horseless Riders--matchmaking service!

Horses in need of work in Milford, CT

They’re not really riderless, but I’d love to find someone to help exercise my mares during the busy school year.

QH mare, 15.1. Great trail horse, goes English or Western. Nothing bothers her but she can get a bit strong so would get along best with a quiet intermediate rider. She does have mild navicular issues but is currently serviceably sound for light w/t/c and trail rides, no jumping.

Pony mare, 13.2. W/T/C and crossrails, trail rides well in a group. On the lazy side and mostly quiet with just a bit of ponytude. Would be great for an intermediate teen or small adult.

Horseless in Lexington KY…

Hello! I find myself without anything to ride  I have lots of experience starting the initial flatwork and o/f work on young horses as well as riding older made or difficult horses. I have tons of experience showing hunters, young jumpers, and young eventers. If anyone has any horses that are riderless please let me know!! I am super easy to get along with and set up a program!!

Riderless in Calgary

23 year old horse less in Calgary. Just moved from Ontario and is looking for a new place to ride. Have been showing the hunters for 8 years and worked in an A- Circuit barn for 6. Recently graduated university so still need to pay off those tution debts so nothing overly expensive. At the moment work only allows me to ride 3 days a week, so I can’t commit to a lease.

Please message if you know of anything as I need to get back in the saddle!

Horseless Rider - Westchester County, NY

I recently graduated from college and don’t have the time or money to purchase a horse right now. I have ridden for over 10 years with professional trainers. Competed in hunters, jumpers and eventing. I am still taking lessons on a weekly basis but would love to supplement that with some additional rides.

Riderless in Auburn, Ohio: TB gelding needs to get back into shape!

My 10 yr old TB gelding injured right hind suspensory last summer. After a year off, I’m slowly bringing him back into shape. I’m trying to find a new home for him since I don’t think he’ll be up for eventing anymore, but he’s sound now and I want to get him working again.

I can only ride him a few days a week. Would love to find a horseless rider who wants some saddle time. He is 16.2, big guy. Pretty quiet, but he is a tb, so prefer experience!

My barn has two indoors, an outdoor and fields to ride in, and best of all, a great group of people that make riding fun!

Central NY A-circuit rider: FOUND!

Anyone know a small adult or mature young rider who could school a nicely schooled, quiet, easy and VERY fun large pony over fences once a week or so – and maybe show him every now and then? MUST be able to do hunter lead changes on a pony that does them easily and knows the ropes well at home, but hasn’t been to a lot of shows (some, but not a lot). Pony is stabled at a well-equipped facility.

Again, this is in Central NY (not Florida, where I am).

Edited to add: OR do you know a pro who travels? Some $$$ might be possible. Just need someone to keep pony tuned up and maybe have fun at the occasional show.

Horseless Rider - Northern VA

Hi! I’m looking for 1/2 or full lease a horse within 25 miles of Manassas that is beginner safe. I ride English and western, no jumping. I am comfortable w/t and working on cantering.

Oppotunity to ride in S Orange County.

Brought the horses home, we do all care. Doing all care means that you only have time to ride on the weekends I’ve found, lol

So, that leaves us with two guys that could use another day or two of light trail riding.

Anyways, I have to be really picky about the rider for insurance purposes, since it’s a private property that I do not own, but our horses could get out more and I remember what it was like to not have any saddle time or money for my own
:frowning:

PM me if you’re interested.

Riderless horse in Freeport, ME

16yo, ~15.1hh, Clydesdale x Hackney gelding in Freeport, Maine. Caesar has been a driving horse most of his life (was bred/raise by a Mennonite community and then spent a few years in Colonial Williamsburg!) and was started under saddle this spring. He’s a bit overweight and is being ridden occasionally in an attempt to shed those extra pounds! He is SUPER sweet and a real joy to ride. He is bombproof and incredibly willing. He understands seat and leg aids and is starting to work in a rounder outline. He tries very hard and learns quickly.

I don’t have time to ride him as often as I’d like. I’d love for someone to put a couple extra rides a week on him! No beginner riders, please. PM me FMI.

Worth a try…

I’m a horseless rider in Brooklyn, NY… as are probably hundreds of others. I’ve ridden event horses through prelim, and galloped racehorses at the track… and now, I’ll ride anything within a decent train ride!

Horseless Rider DC Area

Hi! I own a horse but am looking for some riding time on other horses/ponies to broaden my horizons and hopefully keep something exercised for you! I am short enough to fit comfortably on large ponies and possibly mediums as well as most any size horse. I am a student and have been around horses for over 10 years. I’m comfortable on something green or made as long as they have a good head. I’m a quiet ride and believe in building from the bottom up. I’m happy to work with whatever training schedule you have devised and take immaculate care of horses, tack, and other property. Thanks!

Helloo =]. I am a full time student in Philadelphia, I had to give my horse to a friend back home in order to attend school, and am sorely missing regular barn-time. I’m an advanced rider that primarily rides Hunter/Jumper and Dressage, but I have experience in a number of different disciplines from western pleasure to eventing. I feel very comfortable on a variety of different types of horses, including greenies and hot horses. I would love to get back into jumping, but I’m very content with simply trail riding or flatting, also! I would be more than happy to help out with stalls or stable work as well. I do have a car, so if anyone within a 45 minute drive of Philly feels like I’d be a decent fit(speaking of which, I’m 5’6, so small/medium ponies are probably not a great match), pm me!

Riderless horse in N. GA

My guy just came back home after his lease and I am still pregnant and unable to keep him in shape.

Looking for either a free lease close to home or someone who just wants to come and ride him at my barn.

11yo gelding…EASY peasy to ride…trained in lower level dressage, hunters up to 3ft, done jumpers, and some eventing at the BN level. EASY keeper, currently shod in front only, easy hauler…good for up down lessons all the way up to 2’9. Anything 3ft and above he needs a confident rider…he will do it, but he needs his confidence boosted at the higher levels.

Was used as an IEA team horse all season last year and did cross rails up to 2’6 and was wonderful at all the different barns, with differnet kids, etc!

Looking for a short term free lease thru the end of the year so he stays in shape.

Horseless rider in Annapolis, MD

I’d love to pick up a few rides a week in the immediate or surrounding area, as I’m currently new in town, sort of horseless (my mom’s got my 2 and won’t give them back!) and even if she would, my job doesn’t really leave me enough time to be entirely committed to my own horse right now. BUT, I’ve got tons of experience and education, almost every dicipline (4th/PSG, 3’9", although it’s been a while, prelim eventing, hunting, ponyclub) and would just love a day or two a week in the barn. Green’s ok, I’ve ridden lg mediums-giants, and I’d be happy to provide references. Thanks!

Riderless Horse Near Augusta, GA

I’m finding it difficult to get down to the farm as much as I’d like. Currently averaging about three days a week (Sat/Sun and a weekday) and it’s looking like Kieran is really needing more consistent rides than that. Would love it if someone came out to ride him (mostly flat work, farm has a nice 150x175 grass arena with poles and cavaletti to use, or long straightaways between pastures to ride).

He’s not a very advanced horse, but he’s a pretty straightforward and willing ride. 7 year old Paint/Percheron, 16.3hh.

Riderless Horse in Athens, GA

I would like to find a solid 1st level + dressage rider to help me school my mare 2-3 days a week. She is a great training level mare but needs more rides than I can ensure this semester (Senior year of college = no life). My mare is at a great private barn (dog-friendly) with really wonderful people.

This could be an awesome opportunity for a dressage rider at UGA who wants a nice horse to ride without committing to a lease.

Please PM me for more information.

Thank you,
GLR

17.1 Hand Bay Appendix for Half Lease in Huntingdon Valley, PA

I am looking to half lease my 11 year old 17.1 hand registered QH Appendix gelding (most people when they meet him think he is a warm blood - he looks nothing like an appendix) He is an all around purpose horse who can do many things. I currently have been working on dressage and low jumps with him. He is great on trail rides and can either go alone or in a group. He is located at a private barn in Huntingdon Valley where we have an indoor and an outdoor. We are located up the road from an entrance to Pennypack Park (a 3 minute walk on horse).

I am looking for an intermediate to experienced rider to half lease - the terms are negotiable. He stands quiet in the wash stall and loves being groomed. Please e-mail for more details and pictures. You will have access to all my supplies and a trailer if you would like to take him to any type of show or event.

Riderless Horse in SE Wisconsin

I’m looking for a rider for my quiet 13 year old 15.3 hand Paint mare while I head off to college. Stella has been trained in Dressage, and is capable of schooling 2nd/3rd level work. Lead changes have been introduced in the past, but not confirmed. Has received scores of up to 65% at 1st 3 last fall. I can send some videos and pictures of her. Mare is on the lazy side, but very safe.

Between saddle and vet issues, she hasn’t been working that well this summer. Her stifles are being injected next Sunday, and I am confident that will clear up her problems. She has had the last 2 weeks off, but she will go back to work after that. Typically an easy keeper and this has been the biggest issue I have seen in 7 years of working with her.

There is plenty of space for riding outside on the farm, mare will happily go in a group or alone. Stella also loves jumping, though I only jump her a couple times a year. Rider is welcome to take her over fences as long as they discuss their plans with me and check with the barn owner.

She is on pasture board at a drama-free Dressage barn in Mukwonago. 60 meter by 20 meter indoor ring, even bigger outdoor plus lanes to ride around the pastures. I sometimes work her in the fields when horses are not out.

Free lease, rider may work her on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I may offer other days as well. I’m just looking for someone to keep her moving while I go to college. Days will most likely change when next semester starts, but Saturday will always be open. Contact me at kschneider19@yahoo.com.
