Riderless Horses and Horseless Riders--matchmaking service!

My name’s Kate, and I’m looking for a horse to ride in the Bozeman area. I grew up riding huntseat and had been taking about 6 months of reining lessons before I moved to MT in Aug 2015. I rode IHSA (both huntseat and low-level horsemanship) all through college, so I’m used to working with a variety of horse “personalities.” I’ve ridden former Big Eq horses, greenies, OTTBs, injury rehabs, and “got a new sale horse, go see if it bucks.” I’m also 5’4" and slender so I’m not too big for most ponies, and for some reason I just LOVE ponies! Jumped up to 3’ but I’m a bit out of shape and would be happy sticking to flatwork.

I’d love the opportunity to ride (English or Western) regularly, and am more than happy to help out around the barn. I’m in grad school, so I have a pretty flexible schedule and can work around your times. I’m also looking for a barn to take lessons at, so if you have any suggestions or want to make that a stipulation, we can talk. I’d be willing to drive ~45min outside of Bozeman. Latest videos of my riding are all from Fall 2014, some fences rounds from an IHSA Alumni show (catch rides), and a few schooling show flat classes on an OTTB project, available on request.

Riderless Horse in Denver metro (Arvada)

Looking for an experienced English rider to help me get my mare back into regular work. She has been out of work for about two months due to dental/TMJ issues that have since been resolved. She’s out of shape, but very well trained. She was previously ridden by all levels of IHSA riders and is happiest as a hunter. She is eager to have a job, loves to jump, and has super sweet personality. Perfect ground manners and isn’t mareish, just a bit girthy (head tossing, no biting).

She is currently located in Arvada in the Standley Lake area. Easy 25-30 minute drive from most parts of the city; I work downtown and it takes me 35 minutes with traffic.

I work fulltime and live in the city, so I can’t get out to the barn regularly enough to get her in a consistent program. Great opportunity to ride a lovely mare at no cost!

Horseless in Pasadena, Ca

Hi all!

I currently take lessons consistently once per week at a hunter/jumper barn (I have been showing/riding h/j since I was 8). I can’t afford to really take more lessons that that per month, but would like to keep up my riding fitness!

I do other forms of exercise to stay fit and active (yoga and running), but we all know it takes special muscles for riding.

I’d ride any discipline horse, just to ride! I happily groom, clean tack, bathe and clean stalls etc. in exchange.

Thanks in advance!

Horse near Culpeper needs more rides

10 year old TB/Welsh Cob cross 15.3 mare needs more rides than busy mom can manage! We are a private family farm that participate in pony club, eventing and fox hunting. This mare has been primarily fox hunted but has lightly shown local hunter/jumpers. Ideally looking for experienced rider who enjoys flat work to develop horse’s muscle and balance but jumping, trail riding and showing also possible. Also have pony available so could be perfect fit for parent/child combo looking for more riding time. No beginners please. Located about 5 miles south of Culpeper.

Lovely ladies in North Central Florida

I have about 6-7 mares that could use riders! Gorgeous 20 acres and nice trails to ride. Girls are qh, tb or wb. Some are trained reiners, some are dressage, some are green. I’m only one butt in the saddle!

Riderless Horse in Duvall, WA

Are you a horseless rider in search of a riding opportunity? We are looking for an adult rider for a lovely, super friendly 16.1h dark bay Irish mare. She is very well trained and knowledgeable on the flat and over fences but she is out of shape and in need of exercise. Ideally, YOU can help get her ready to be on the market by the end of spring/early summer. Not for a total beginner but suitable for a range of experience levels. English riders only, please.

We are a few sensible and fun (at least we think so!) adult women riders who enjoy morning rides. If you are looking for some saddle time with good company, please contact me!

Greetings! Where are you located? I might have several girls that could help you out. Thanks Yvonne

Horseless Rider in NY Capital Region (Albany/Schenectady)

Hello! I recently moved to the Albany, NY region and am looking to get back into riding. I have over 15 years of experience riding primarily English- huntseat, dressage, balance seat, and centered riding, with some polo and hunting experience thrown in as well! I’d love to find a horse to ride once or more a week- ring work or trails- whatever is needed! Happy to help with barn work as well.

I have a riderless horse looking for a rider in Southern Ontario. Cambridge/Kitchener area.

He’s a 5 year old gelding, 14.2 hands.

Rain goes English or Western and has been started over fences, lovely jumper and very nice mover. Goes in a proper frame and knows his lateral work. Easy to handle, clip, trailer, bathe etc. Hacks alone or in a group and has been off property to clinics, cross country schooling and fox hunts.

He’s suitable for an intermediate (or better) rider. Facility is a private facility with indoor and outdoor arenas as well as access to tons of trails.

He’s a lovely boy! Super flashy palomino and very sweet personality.

Horseless rider in Indianapolis

Hey all! I live in Indianapolis and I’m looking to get back into riding. I was a dressage working student for a while- last trainer I worked with was Liz Austin- but I haven’t ridden in about 3 or 4 years. I was probably solid 3rd/4th level, but I’ve played around with movements all the way up to GP on some nice schoolmasters.

I’m looking for something to ride within 45 or so minutes from downtown Indy. Just looking for a once or twice a week deal. Willing to help out a bit with barn chores as well. Send me a PM if you have anything that sounds like it might work out!

Competent mid-30’s AA seeking… (Illinois or neighboring midwest)

No luck shopping in my (modest) budget, so I’m putting feelers out for a free/cost-of-care lease situation at my location (quality barn, excellent care) in Chicagoland. 15.3+, mare or gelding, for weekly lessons (H/Eq focus), hacking, trails, hunting, and lots of love.

I’m a member of our local hunt, and my goal had been to find a hunt horse to buy, so a horse who has hunt experience–or one who might inclined (good on trails, in groups, around dogs, good brain, soundness) would be ideal. I’d start in third field and move up only as the horse was comfortable and ready. Thanks!

Looking for a dressage horse in the NYC area. Would love to find an educated schoolmaster to lease or purchase depending on the asking price but I know that’s super hard to find. Figured I would put some feelers out there

Horseless rider just outside Phoenix, AZ

Hi all,

I recently moved to AZ and am looking for some more time in the saddle. I am located in east valley but wouldn’t mind driving a bit for the right situation  I have competed up to 3’6" but was more recently showing in the adult hunters before I moved here. I have never had my own horse and have always had to make do with what I had, so I am perfectly happy riding something younger/something that needs a bit more patience. Please let me know if you have anything available that you think would be a good fit

Thank you!!

Horseless in Minnesota

Adult rider in MN looking to pick up a few extra rides. Primarily ridden hunter/jumpers, currently taking dressage lessons. Rode IHSA in university, was schooling 3’6"+ until I moved to France for a year. Love the mares and the greenies. Both my own horses are retired and only able to be trail ridden. Primarily looking to stay in the Shakopee/Prior Lake AND/OR Minnetonka/Delano areas. Thought I’d put some feelers out there to just see what was around. Thanks! I can provide pictures/videos/references if needed.

Horseless Rider in Richmond, VA

Hello! I am a 28 year old looking to get back into riding after a few years off. I was a horse owner for ten years but sold my horse to attend college, follow my career, etc. I’m now settled in Richmond and ready to ride again. I’ve primarily ridden and shown hunters but am open to new experiences! I do have a place to board if anybody is looking to free lease their horse. Thanks so much!
