HollyGoLightly -how far are you willing to travel?
What level schoolmaster? nyc area - which direction? NJ, CT, north?
PSG and above would be fantastic. I could always use more work on the lower levels too though but ideally at least 3rd. I currently travel 40 minutes north of the city but I have my own transportation so I’m not totally bound to the farm I’m at.

Probably no more than 60 minutes from NYC if I’m going out 2-3 times a week.

I am not sure if our barn would something at that level but it is always worth asking. Check out Granny Fox Farm in Goshen, New York(petit gallop). It is about 60 miles. I board there and we love it.

Horseless rider, looking to get back into riding before I buy my own again.

I have tons of experience (working with & owning) and love working with young horses. I prefer to ride outside and love trail riding.

Horseless Rider in Burlington, VT

College student, car-less and low on $$$$, looking to do work in exchange for the opportunity to ride. 6 years riding experience and 4 years working 5days/week at a 24 horse barn. I can do pretty much any chore from stalls to braiding. I am around 5’ and 100lbs so I can sit on almost anything, but I prefer the ponies. I can work with green horses well. I have a background in natural horsemanship, light jumping, but mainly hunters and dressage. I can help work green/young horses, keep school masters in shape or help fix an issue with a lesson horse. I am up for pretty much anything.

Brief riding opportunity in New England, anyone?

We have a super nice 5 yr old appendix mare as sweet as can be, very safe and extremely fun to ride. She has been schooling for the hunters but does nice dressage work and also trails and fields. We are going to be out of the country for 2 weeks, end of June to July 9th. I could bring her to you if you have a good situation and are competent as she is still green and quite special:) 15.2 but has a substantial build and rides like a bigger horse. You can view video footage and pics if you go to equine.com and do advanced search and type in Millie for the name. This is a free lease of course and I would even cover expenses if you offer a good training type experience. We plan to show her at GMHA summer show in mid-July and are hoping to keep her in work. Thank you

Check with Liz Austin in Williston. I know she was looking for some help not too long ago, but I don’t know if she got anyone yet. You’d have to worry about getting a ride to the farm, but the horses would be worth it.

Okay, thanks! I know she works at my uni’s barn so with all the girls from the school that ride there, finding a lift would be relatively easy.

Horseless rider in Hartford/Tolland/Springfield area

Looking for some riding time in the Hartford or Springfield area. My mare is retired, but I’d love to stay in riding shape and hang out with a horse who might need some attention. I have a hunter/jumper background but have done some eventing and low level dressage. I love riding green horses… I was president of my college’s equestrian team, been riding for about 20 years - have had my horse for 15. References available. I’m 28, 5’7", about 130 lbs.

I have a Novice/Training packer for half lease or hacking. Adult Amateur friendly. No spook, bolt, buck. Very easy to ride and work around. Hes a 17.1hh, 12yr TB gelding. Located in Eustis FL at a large facility with dressage arena and miles of hacking.

Horseless rider in Calgary

Hi-

I’m new to Calgary via Colorado, and am looking for a horse to ride up to 3x week (but could do more if it suits the horse). Hunters/jumpers/eventers/OTTBs/ponies/young horses, just maybe not western or only-dressage. I’ve ridden Thoroughbreds most of my life, lots of experience with OTTBs, and I love a project!

I grew up riding and showing (mostly hunters) in Maryland/Virginia, spent some summers galloping racehorses and later grooming at A shows. I took time off from riding for most of my wandering 20s, then came back to riding a few years ago and am still saving for my own horse. I’m 37, 5’3", 120, and can provide references.

Thank you in advance,

Courtenay

Riderless Horse 45 minutes South of Chicago

Hi,

Well trained 12 year old appendix gelding needs extra riding time on weekdays.
Super friendly personality and usually calm under saddle but can be forward so needs experienced rider.
Can be pushy on the ground but never mean-just thinks he’s a much larger horse!
Has done hunter/jumper in younger days. Currently flatwork only.
He’s a little guy at 15’1 and not terrible stocky- does best with smaller female riders.
Boarded at a nice facility with two indoor arenas, large outdoor and miles of trails.

Prefer someone interested in a 1/4 lease, long term year round ( yes, winter too) riding, and willing to take regular lessons.
Currently available 2 days per week Monday - Friday -barn is open until 9:30 pm.
Southwest burbs ( Chicago)
Anyone interested ?

looking for ride in northern virginia

I’m a responsible adult rider working full time in DC looking for a horse to hack around once or twice during the week after work (so lighted arena is a big plus!). Must be under 40 mins from zip 22030.

Please let me know if you have or know of an opportunity! Thanks!!

If you will be at HITS Culpeper for the two August shows and have a sale horse doing the high children’s and 3’6" eq, please let me know. I’d love to talk. I have a horseless rider in her last junior year qualified for a couple things there.

Orlando, Florida Horseless Rider

I live in the Orlando, Florida area and ride weekly (when the rain permits during this rainy season - sigh).

I am looking for someone in the area with a horse that they need help working with. I am hoping to focus my training this year to really improve before getting into competing, as I haven’t competed in roughly 3 years when I was in intervarsities.
So really it can be for anything from simple ground work to training for potential competitions.

Horseless Rider in Bucks County PA

Well, not really horseless, but my current guy is getting older, and I don’t have space for a second one at home at the moment.

I tend to enjoy more challenging horses (sensitive, forward, hot, etc.) so I’m hoping someone out there has a horse that needs some mileage on it - and we can be mutually beneficial for each other! Looking to ride 2 - 3 times a week. Can work on whatever your horse needs - dressage, jumping, cross country, trail riding, or just starting with basics.

I live near the bucks county horse park, if you ever want to come meet my own horse and get a feel for how I ride, to see if I would be a good fit for your horse as well

Horseless Rider Looking to Show @WEF

Looking for catch rides while I’m down at WEF this winter. Unfortunately don’t have the funds to bring my own horse. I’m a junior and can do the ponies, childrens/junior hunters, or jumpers. I’ll also be in the palm beach area November 10-13.

Looking for riding time in Boston/eastern MA

I am having to retire my jumper after 18 months of failed treatment for EPM, and looking to get and stay in riding shape for when I start horse shopping in spring 2017. I have been riding for 30+ years, hunter jumper with some eventing lessons thrown in. I am happy to ride anything and will do whatever the horse needs–easy hacks, flat work, small jumps, trail rides. Just looking to stay in the saddle.

I was teaching and riding daily for 4 years, then regained amateur status. This is the first time in 20 years I haven’t had anything to ride and it feels awful! I am in the Boston area but willing to commute up to 1 hour, also willing to consider a temporary free or partial lease for the right horse. References and video available!

Thanks!
