Horseless Rider, Harvard MA

Harvard, MA

Hello! Horseless rider here, 1st/2nd level dressage rider (former eventer) looking for some saddle time this winter, 2-3x a week. Experience with hot and fussy horses and TBs. I would be happy to put some mileage on a green horse or help keep an older horse in shape. Prefer a place with an indoor after riding outside the last few years, I am done with that!

I would definitely consider a paid lease for a schoolmaster, and would be happy to discuss any/all possibilities via PM - my PM is linked to my email so don’t worry, I will get your message!

TIA

Riderless horses in Northern Colorado.

I have 2 geldings northeast of Greeley in need of jobs. Unfortunately with my work schedule I don’t have time to ride. The first is a 23yo Selle Francais. He’s the definition of a schoolmaster. He showed to 1.30m jumpers and 3rd level dressage in his day. He’s still sound and happy to work. He’s also great to trail ride out alone or in a group.

The second is a 14yo TB. He’s a bit out of shape but knows dressage basics and has shown over fences up to 3’3. He needs a confident rider because he can test you, although it’s nothing dangerous. He would make a nice lower level eventer or jumper. I simply don’t have the time needed to keep him in shape. He’s also safe to trail ride out alone or in a group.

Both boys live at my home northeast of Greeley. Easy drive from Fort Collins and Cheyenne as well. I don’t have an arena but I do have 80 acres of level fields and I’m adjacent to 250k acres of National Grasslands to ride on. Both horses must remain in my care but we can discuss shipping out for lessons and shows.

I do rehab and rescue of American Saddlebreds, teaching them to be dressage horses. This involves a huge amount of ground work, and then under saddle work. If you are interested in learning how to long line and longe, work through caveletti, as well as ride these horses, maybe we’d have a great fit![/QUOTE]

If I still lived in that area I would be there in a heartbeat! Hope you find someone.

Hi all,

Having just moved to the lower VT area, I had to give up my full lease and now I’m very sadly, horseless. My work hours right now don’t allow me to buy my own horse or full lease, but I’d love some saddle time (and could do a half/partial lease in the right situation). Last year I showed at 3’ (mostly equitation and hunters) and regularly schooled higher. I can handle quirky and has a motor/sensitive/hot, as long as there are no behavioral problems that require significant bravery (as an adult in my late 30’s, I have a strong sense of self preservation). I’m also petite and ride ponies well (large and medium, but could school a small). If anyone thinks I’d be a fit for your horse, please get in touch!

Horseless Rider in Tampa, FL area

I am an experienced adult rider and horse owner. My injured horse is rehabbing for the next several months and I am in need of other riding opportunities. I ride H/J and would have references from my current trainer as well as friends who have had me ride their horses. Due to time constraints I would need the horse to be within a 1/2 hour radius of Plant City/Dover/Brandon area.

I can ride moderately green horses and am experienced riding/leasing/owning TBs (have ridden them more than other breeds). I am comfortable with sensitive horses as long as there are no significant behavioral issues.

I would love to help you out with hacks and get some saddle time, so please get in touch if I may be a good fit for your horse.

SF Bay Area (Oakland) Horse owner looking for rider to help exercise/hack out

I live in the Oakland Hills and have two nice horses that I could use help getting out. One is a 14 year old 15’3 Connemara/TB prelim level event mare and the other is a 10 year old Welsh/Morgan cross that is 14’2 and does novice/training level eventing. We have an 70x135 all weather sand/rubber arena on our property and also can ride to many miles of trails. No lights yet, so it’s best for someone who can ride during daylight hours. My daughter and I both ride but now that she’s in high school it would be great to have a riding buddy to help keep everyone fit, especially since I’m now starting our 3 year old Oldenburg. We have an Intermediate level event trainer that comes and does lessons at our place as well, so lessons are also a possibility, although not required. I have one friend who comes 1-2 days a week but it would be great to have another. She helps me with tack cleaning or stall cleaning the days she comes, so it would be wonderful if something similar could be worked out, but that is negotiable.

Horseless Rider in Long Island, NY Area

I am an experienced hunt-seat rider located in Queens, NY willing to travel throughout Long Island. I work as a mounted law enforcement officer, so I work with horses daily, but want to do some riding for fun on my own time.

Formerly a jumper rider, have shown in the level 2/3s, have started OTTBs and other young/green horses. Am comfortable with sensitive horses and horses with training issues. 5’5" average build

Hi there! I live in Oakland and would be interested in meeting up to talk if you still are looking for some help. I rode hunters/jumpers for about 15 years, I haven’t ridden much in the last year but would love to get back in the saddle. Let me know

Maybe a long shot, but who knows… I am located in Spokane, WA, and have a really lovely 4yo TB gelding who could use more riding time. He is well started and knows his flatwork basics, is learning changes, goes over cavaletti/low fences, and wants to be a hunter. He is not complicated, and is a push ride, very very amateur friendly. If you’re in Spokane and think you fit the bill feel free to send me a PM!

Central Northern MD- Horse needs rider

Horse located on my small private farm- no arena, just flat grass area with some modest jumps. Currently needs confident rider because he hasn’t been in consistent work (I have a toddler and work)- he can and used to be a superstar but right now he’s a bit more challenging. 16 hand TB, primarily has been used for lower level eventing/jumper type. Showing option available if you haul.

Horseless rider in greater NYC area

Hi there!

Looking for more opportunities to ride outside my regular lessons. I live in Manhattan, but am willing to travel upstate or out to Long Island. I have 10 years experience riding hunters/jumpers/eq and working with greenies.

I am looking for a horse to show, for the 2017 Winter/Spring season. Great opportunity for an owner that wants show miles with an experienced rider, without the crazy training fees. Will be in a program with upper level rider. PM for more info.

Horses in North Alabama

I have too many horses and not enough time to ride. Located in Athens, AL horses are kept on my own farm. I have 5 to choose from depending on riders ability. Plenty of farmland to ride or exercise in pastures. No arena. Ages listed are as of Jan 2017:

  • 15 year old 14.1 hand QH gelding, finished reiner, packer type that just needs exercise
  • 14 year old 15.2 hand QH mare, fox hunter/eventer, spicy but safe needs lots of long slow miles
  • 5 year old 16.2 hand qh/tb? gelding, fox hunter, greenish but quiet and has a good handle. Currently whipping-in on him.
  • 4 year old 15.3 hand appendix/wb mare, will be fox hunter, very green but honest and lazy. Needs lots of wet saddle pads.

Cannot pay money, can provide an opportunity for foxhunting next season. Easygoing uncomplicated horses with great ground manners and good work ethic. Nothing will rear, and shouldn’t buck… no longing needed before getting on.

Horseless Rider in Maryland

Located in Carroll County, MD. Looking for a sane & fun horse to ride. Ideal horse would be schooling or capable of 1st level and safe for trail riding. If it can jump, even better.

Will be taking weekly lessons with a very kind & sweet dressage trainer (horses well-being is always a priority).

Horse will be stretched & massaged before & after each ride. Given lots of treats (if allowed) & tons of love. Thorough grooming before & after rides, always checking for any scratches, bumps, or small injuries. I own a small tack company & have an obsession with saddle pads, so a clean pad is used for each ride. Will gladly give owner updates after each ride.

Professional seeks lease of FEI horse

I have been riding and teaching dressage professionally for over 30 years. I need to get my silver and gold medals in order to better myself and promote my business. I have not shown in over 15 years, but I have continued my education over that time and have trained two horses to GP. I ride with a former USET member and clinic 5 times a year with a 2 time Olympian. Bottom line, I do not have the $$ to purchase an upper level horse. I am looking for a lease on a horse that is doing at least 4th level. What’s in it for you? You will get a finished Grand Prix horse back at no charge. Could be a good deal for someone who is off to university, grad school, having a baby, etc. that does not want to sell their horse. I’m in the upper left corner of the map (PNW). Impeccable references and testimonials from happy clients and students. Please PM
