Riderless Horses and Horseless Riders--matchmaking service!

Horseless in Tampa, FL

I just moved to Tampa with my SO – but without my horse!
I’m an adult with more than 15 years of riding experience. I showed the adult equitation and hunters on the local circuit, rode the jumpers through L4 at the A shows, and broke and schooled green horses at home. Slipped out of the show ring after taking my first full time job, but started riding at the racetrack after getting laid off from my first full time job. I’m still small enough to ride a large pony, too. Suggestions??

Horses in south Atlanta

I have two nice mares that I would like to lease here on my farm to experienced riders/horsepeople. I have 4 horses and not a lot of time for these two.
One is a qh mare about 15.3 and the other is a 16 hand holsteiner/tb mare. Both are very well trained, bump 15 yrs old. The holsteiner has dressage - lower level - exp and LOVES to jump. She is a very nice horse but a bit hotter and sensitive than the qh. Both love to go out on trails and are exceptional together out.

I am in the Newnan Moreland area, about 45 minutes south of Atlanta. I have a regulation size dressage ring, jumps and great trails on property. Both mares haul exceptionally well as well and showing would be possible if you wanted to.

If interested, please send me a pm. Thanks!

Soon to be Riderless Horse

I will be going off to veterinary school in the fall and am looking for someone who would be interested in a long(er) term lease. Possibly an older 4H-er, a lesson program, or someone looking for a versatile horse to play around with.

I have an about 15 h quarter/clyde mare (built like a quarter horse) still green but is in the process of being worked extensively, and is just being refined. (But I still wouldn’t recommend a beginner) She can go english or western and she is good on trails. Located near Cincinnati, and would prefer to stay around that region.

I am willing to work out more details of the lease with the right person.

Please pm me if interested!

Incredibly smart, quick-learning, willing, forward, quiet gelding, well-schooled as a dressage horse, working 2nd level. Loves to learn in the arena, or you can make him happy by working on things he already knows he’s a star at (leg-yield, medium trot, free walk first among them). Will teach you what he knows, or will learn along with you what you both don’t yet!

Also jumps and has been worked on cattle. Jumps are available–cattle are not.

As bomb-proof as a horse can be on the trail, nothing fazes him, has pretty much seen everything. Sure footed, will go at any gait you want (will not rush up a hill–has been trained to take all inclines and declines at a walk unless asked to do otherwise). Comes back easily from any gait, even a gallop. I have ridden him up and down Bear Creek on a completely loose rein with cars, bikes, motorcycles, other horses, you name it… goes out alone or in groups, truly enjoys sightseeing. Access to Briones. Takes no notice of your nerves!

Customized JRD dressage saddle and all other tack and equipment included. USDF Silver Medalist dressage/eventing trainer on site for lessons.

Send me an e-mail (don’t reply to the thread) if you’re interested in a share. Fee required.

Horse in 08551 zipcode

Trainer needs light weight rider for perfectly safe WB sale gelding. Prefer rider comfortable with jumping to 3’6" and able to follow directions. PM me if interested.

My working student is going to be horseless in May, and I’d love to find her something educated to ride.

She’s little - 5’3" I’d guess - so a more petite ride would be preferred. She is a lovely rider, patient and kind, who has sat on some upper level horses of mine and always done a nice job.

The horse would be in full training with me (at my place in NoVA), so it would be ridden under professional supervision every day. She cannot afford to pay a lease fee, but she can afford to give EXCELLENT care, and wouldn’t mind an older horse who needs a little maintenance. We have wonderful turnout, stellar footing, and exceptional veterinary and farrier care.

Would love something 3rd level+.

Contact me via PM or email, I won’t be back to check this thread.

Horseless Rider in Arcadia, FL

I am living in Florida until May. I have over 25 years of riding & showing experience. Hunters, Jumpers & Dressage. I am currently out of shape from raising a family the past couple years. I just need time in the saddle. I am quiet & kind. References available.

After a few years of sporadic riding, riding in lesson 1 d/wk @ MD event barn for past 5 mos, but want more free tack time. Would love a schoolmaster for O/F given the barn’s greenie still catapults over fences, but anything sane & nice would be awesome too.

Horseless Rider Gaithersburg MD

I’ve been riding since I was a young kid, over 12 years. I have ridden mostly western with some english, definitely need a refresher on english. Moved to Maryland without my horses so I am looking for some saddle time. Thanks.

H.I.T.S (and RMI) RIDER WANTED: I have two large ponies, one to do the pony jumpers or ANY low jumper division, the other ANY low hunter division (doesn’t have to be ponies).

Wynn, you need a junior, yes?

Wynn,

You’d need a junior, right? Or small adult if you opted out of the pony classes? I know some trainers up there, could hook you up.

Horseless Rider in Milford/Franklin, Mass

I’m an experienced rider who recently moved from Florida to Massachusetts. I’ve only ridden once since October, and I’m beginning to go nuts. Several years ago, I was showing 3rd level dressage and schooling 4th. However, more recently, I’ve ridden mostly greenies/lower level dressage and hunter/jumpers.

My gelding is recuperating from a suspensory injury back in Florida, so I’m not in a position to take a horse on free lease up here. My ideal situation would be to find someone with a horse that needs extra work during the week or a barn with several horses to hack. I’m available to ride on weekends and in the evenings during the week.

My riding muscles are withering away, and I miss spending hours at a barn!

I’m in the Worcester/Milford/Franklin area. Please contact me if you have a horse that needs exercising!

Horseless rider in Columbia, SC

Sold my OTTB in November due to finances, horse I was riding moved away with his owner. Thinking about leasing from my old barn, but would love to find a free situation.

English riding for almost 20 years, started as a huntseat rider but have taken dressage lessons as well. Have always ridden greenies. ARIA certified Huntseat and Stable Management Level 1.

Am open to just about anything. Don’t have tons of time to devote right now, but could probably ride 2-3x/week if it’s in metro Columbia. Might drive up to an hour for the weekends.

Happy to train a green bean, or exercise a steady eddie!

Riderless horse in Monroe, WA

Cabo, a 14.2HH 15 yr old liver chesnut morgan is looking for a rider!

His owner has been a bit under the weather, and he’d like it very much for someone to spend some time with him.

Cabo rides well- an experienced drill team horse, but also recently partaking in dressage lessons. He is awesome on the trails.

He can be a little spooky and definitely not a dead-head- but is not dangerous.

Cabo clips, bathes, hauls, ties with no problem.

Facility has an indoor arena, race track for hacking. We also go haul to local trails when the weather is nice.

He has his own tack available for use, or if you have a wide enough saddle that would fit him- that would be ok too!

please PM me for details. Thanks!

Horse looking for rider Oxford, CT

Coming 5yr old Reg’d Arab/NSH looking for someone to spend some saddle time with him. Super spunky but once in a consistent riding schedule he calms down and starts calling at the fence for his workout. Approx 15hh 800lbs has basic w/t/c/whoa/back in the ring and does trails. Needs a confident/intermediate rider as he will test his rider in the first 15mins of the work out by rooting and small hop but if you keep leg on he moves on without a problem. Currrently at pirvate home with option to trailer out with me and my other horse for trails around the area. Email HMDeyo@aol.com

I will be returning to Florida to complete HITS and compete at RMI with our own horses. I am 5’3 and have competed pony jumpers for people before. How tall is your pony. I’d be happy to compete them in the jumper divisions. Feel free to email me at m.sakurahillfarm@gmail.com

I need someone to help me for a few hours a day in my grooming job in Wilton, California, for the experience. I work in a busy dressage barn under a winning trainer who trained in Europe for 10 years. We have 14 horses in training and it’s too much for little old me! You will get supervised saddle time on well-trained, well-behaved horses. Duties include grooming, tacking, warm up/cool down, cleaning tack and other miscellaneous tasks as needed. Send me a message if interested!

Adorable Riderless Horse

This fall I will be going to vet school and unfortunately will not be able to take my girl with me. She’s an adorable 4 yr old, 15.2h warmblood trained in huntseat, but can also go western and trail ride. She has been trained to jump and has been shown, and would LOVE to have someone work with her while I’m away.

She’s located just north of Cincinnati, OH, and I would prefer for her to stay in this area so she can be check up on regularly, but I could potentially work something out if she were relocated elsewhere (regular vet updates/farrier updates/trainer updates etc) If interested send me a private message!

Irish Sport Horse Needs 1-2 Rides Per Week - Northampton, MA

5 yr old, dapple grey ISH gelding would love for an experienced rider to come and work him 1-2 days per week. He currently has a teenager leasing him but he is green and tends to take advantage of her whenever he can  He’s a fun ride - has a great, silly personality, and he really does want to please. An experienced rider familiar with green horses would have fun with him. Very cute mover, currently jumping small courses. I can get up to ride him only once a week (if I’m lucky) and I’d like him to have some more consistent riding by an experienced rider who will remind him that he shouldn’t bulge in around the corners, or be lazy about his transitions, etc. He knows all this stuff, but his current rider isn’t advanced enough to work though some of the green-ness, so he tends to take advantage. Basically, she rides him around the ring, but he’s not really learning anything. Looking for someone who’d like some time in the saddle. PM with your email for pics/videos. When you contact me, please let me know what your experience is so I will know whether it would be a good fit. There’d be an opportunity to show for the right rider. Farm has an indoor ring.
