Horseless rider outside of Oneonta, NY. I spend a lot of time up near Utica/Herkimer, NY, too so I don’t mind a little bit of a drive.
2yrs. ago I was probably considered an advanced rider (3’6" jumpers- Open IHSA) Since I graduated college I haven’t been riding consistently, but would like to again.
Chapel Hill area horse in need of a rider?
Hello,
I am a dressage rider looking for a ride in the Chapel Hill area. I’ve ridden all kinds of horses or all different ages. I’m primarily a dressage rider but have evented and jumped in the past. I’d be happy to provide a more detailed description of my riding via PM.
Thanks!
J.
Looking for a confident petite rider near Houston, TX
Great oppourtunity for someone looking to broaden their horse knowledge. I need a petite youth or adult rider who wants to learn to ride saddleseat. Must already be a good rider in their own discipline. I have a very nice Saddlebred mare, but she’s kind of too little for me, and I would love to have her ridden by someone who won’t look like a huge amazon. Also someone who would like to show too, I would give lessons (for free) to learn how to ride saddleseat and pay for some local shows. You would be able to ride a few times a week on different horses also. Please email or PM for more information. desertmyst @ yahoo.com
Fat Trail Horses need more exercise
Still hoping to find someone in the Southeast Va/Western Tidewater area (Wakefield) that wants to ride.
Trails here, road trips to parks, battlefields, organized trail rides, hunter paces, etc…

I have a double-whammy for you all…
Horse that I have for riding-
7 yo. OTT tb gelding. Quiet as can be . teaching a 6 yo. on him. about 15.3 . I’d like a hand in teaching him to jump and move forward -not in that order-
I’m also looking for lessons on someones schooled horse- its been a while since I have really ridden but in my ‘prime’ I was riding with a pro and showing on the A circut in the medals and 3’ jumpers/hunters. I;m really out of shape and have gained weight. I need to lose it and then I think i’ll get the swing of things back.

i’m game to install a ‘go’ button on your OTTB. where are you located?
Riderless Horse, Western Mass.
I have a soon-to-be 21 yr old Morgan mare who could use some light riding/power walking on the trails. Does NOT look her age, sound for power trail walks, needs conditioning work to get back to the ring.
AWESOME trail horse, and easy access to trails from barn. 2 or 3 times a week would be perfect. Super safe mare, road safe, smart, not spooky, bold, schooled to approx. 2nd level trot work in the ring (has not done heavy-duty ring work in approx. 2 yrs). 14.3 hh, bay, as pretty as the day is long. Great ground manners, not a horse who enjoys copious amounts of affection, but will bond strongly to people she likes. Claustrophobic in stall, but knows the rules if handled properly. Not for a beginner if only for her high IQ. Comfy, soft mouth, possibility of being able to do light ring work if she remains sound. Well schooled but clever. Great horse for adult rider wanting to decompress on the trail. If interested, please PM me. Thanks!
Dayton Ohio.
Up to my eyeballs in horses.
PM me if you’re interested in riding or even just helping out with the young ones.
Horseless Rider - Columbus, OH
Hi everybody. 20yo sophmore attending the Ohio State University, and am horseless and hating it. On the OSU IHSA team, currently showing Intermediate fences and flat in IHSA; I’ve been riding since 8. I’m 5’5" and 140lbs, have a car, transportation isn’t an issue. A maximum drive of 30 minutes is my goal, so that would limit me probably to Delaware, Grove City, Marysville, etc.
Anything at all, please PM me, I’m normally on at least once a day. Also, jumping is NOT a requirement (though would be a nice bonus). I already jump once a week in lessons, so I would just be so grateful for something to flat or hack another once or twice a week.
Come summer when I start working full time, I will also be looking for something to lease for roughly 4-5 months (PM for amount that I believe I can financially swing).

Riderless horses in Western WA
What tidy rabbit said. Up to my eyeballs/ears in horses.
I’d be open to discussing just about any kind of arrangement, from someone coming here to ride (Carnation, WA) to a free lease here or on your own property, to ??? the sky’s the limit.
I have an array of horses, none with advanced training.
Highlights
- A stakes-winning 1995 TB race mare who has been a broodmare since 2001, would need to be restarted under saddle
- A 1999 Appy gelding, personality plus, easy going, would be great for trails or (especially) introduction to cow work
- A 2000 buckskin tobiano Paint mare, gorgeous, green-broke, timid but tries her heart out, needs miles and confidence
- A very nice 4yo Paint gelding not started under saddle
I know these sound more like training opportunities (i.e. I’d be the one getting the best deal) but let’s talk – I can perhaps pay, or pay for you to take lessons with a trainer, or something else you’d find beneficial. You never know! They are very nice horses and one of you may be looking for this kind of an opportunity.
We also have babies and yearlings to play/work with, all of them friendly, attention-loving, and (unless I jinx it by saying so) well-behaved.
I need a horse to partial lease. I’m looking to ride 2-3 days of week. Looking for a 2’6" hunter. I need something within 20 minutes of Cheektowaga, NY Private Message me if you have a horse that needs to be leased. Thanks
Riderless horse, Lancaster County, PA

Bumping again - Ocala FL, handsome and sweet Iris Draught needs excercise!
Still hoping to find and intermediate rider for my 7 year old Irish Draught. He’s a good boy and just needs more excercise than I have been able to give him due to some life circumstances (for me). Nice ring, fields and trails to ride and other folks around to ride with as well. Would consider allowing showing or off-property trails if things work out. Here is my boy:

Riderless horses in Maine
Come trail ride with me! I have two TB geldings, age 9 and 10, who want to go trail riding together, so I am seeking a riding partner. Must be an experienced adult or older teen rider. I work from home so my schedule is flexible.
I would also consider a half or full lease on one or both of these nice guys.
Horseless Rider in Charleston, SC
Charleston, SC. I’d like nothing more than to get back in the saddle, and work with horses again. Did junior hunters, 3’6 medals, childrens jumpers, and then Open in IHSA. I graduated 2 yrs ago and have been horseless ever since .
Riderless TB’s Spring Hill/Brooksville FLA
Greetings! I have a few TB’s who have not been in work due to various family issues & health concerns which have limited riding time. Plus, I’m out of the habit of riding, sigh, want a buddy to help with riding & keep me company!
My hubby has trained dressage/jumpers in the past, and a few years ago coached his daughter to many Central Florida jumper championships, including at WEF Tampa (Erin Harris & her Teddy Roosevelt). He would be willing to work with the right person (experienced) in exchange for helping us bring these guys along:
Melvin, 7 yr old 15.1 h TB gelding, he has basic training in him & I’ve seen video of him jumping Xrails happily last summer just before we got him. Doesn’t see to have any issues. Just needs work. He has a pony-like attitude and is a sweetie.
Riggs, a 9 yr old 17h TB gelding. I got him in October, and I haven’t actually seen him ridden. His old owner rode him sporatically. Says he needs a light hand and loves to jump. He is a big handsome fellow who has great ground manners. Seems like he’ll be a lot of horse, but I don’t know for sure. I am considering hiring a pro to put a few rides in him to start to see what we’re dealing with here. Will be looking for an expeienced and very confident rider for him.
Also have a sweet 16 yr old TB mare who has been pretty much a trail horse for her previous owner, she could use some work as well. Nothing fancy, but a nice mare to just ride.
I’d happily consider a good college student or young person (or older person!) who is confident and experienced to help with these guys. We have our own 15 acre farm and plenty of riding space. My goal is to get back into riding shape & get these guys showing low local jumpers. Need help!

Riderless Horses in Knoxville, PA
I have the following 5 horses for lease to the right situation due to me not having the time to work with them since I’m in college:
1.Dudeseternalmister-Paint Gelding-would call him greenbroke…he rides fine w/t/c, backs, lunges, working on leg cues. He hasn’t been worked in a bit yet, rides by himself or in a group. Stands just shy of 16H, very stocky build. Has only been trail ridden. Would make an awesome WP prospect I just haven’t had the time.
2.Leroy-Appaloosa Gelding-2 year old, uniquely marked black & white (actually seal brown, but looks black), just lightly started under saddle last month, recently gelded in February of this year and lunges.
3.AG Niota-Thoroughbred Filly-2 year old registered with JC, Bay with a little white, lightly started under saddle, stands around 14H and growing.
4.BG Seqenenre-Thoroughbred Filly-2 year old registered with JC, bay with lots of white, lightly started under saddle, going to be a tall one-pushing 15H and growing still
5.Saber-Appaloosa Mare-this mare is my first horse, very trustworthy and reliable. Wouldn’t say a beginner safe horse, she still likes to get up and go. Was used in 4-H for gaming and english, trails, and small local shows. This is one of those horses you can let set the whole winter and hop on in the spring and doesn’t change.
All located in Knoxville, PA 16928
Any questions feel free to pm me. Thanks.
HORSELESS RIDER- Rhode Island
I’m a horseless rider in Rhode Island! Well, sorta. I do take lessons twice a week but I am having a difficult time adjusting to not having a horse I can go ride between lessons!
I will ride anything. Green, broke, in-between. I’ve been riding 13 years and used to be the “guinea pig” rider at a past barn, so I have seen and ridden nearly every type of horse. Doesn’t need to jump as I’m already jumping 2x a week in lessons.
I will consider driving to some parts of Mass and CT, depending on the exact location.
I know this is a long shot considering Rhode Island is about the size of a pin head, but I’m desperate!
Maryland / DC area
Still have ridersless horse. He’s fat and needs a job 11 yr old TB/QH 17hh.
Done everything at one point or another Even suitable for a beginner. PM for details and/or pics.
Located about 30/40 minutes south of DC.
Horseless Rider - Chicago, IL area
I’m relocating to the Chicago area this summer and am looking to find a horse to ride regularly/half lease. I’m an intermediate level rider with a hunt seat background and some experience in dressage. I enjoy working with horses of any background and would be excited to further my experience with a green horse. Ideally, I’d like to find a horse within an hour’s drive of the city. I am a responsible 20something biology teacher and would stick with any commitment that I make to a horse and owner. I can provide great references as well. Please send me a PM to contact me.
Thank you!
