riderless horses and horseless riders?

Semi-riderless event horse, Columbus, Ohio

It’s a little early to post this, but…

Novice level event horse for possible lease in Columbus, Ohio area starting September '09 or later. Shared expenses only, no lease fee. Prefer half lease, will consider full lease. I’m going to grad school in the fall and will have limited time to ride.

Skyler is an 8 y.o. Thoroughbred but looks more like an Appendix QH. Never raced, 15.3hh, sound and sane. Not for a beginner but fun and forgiving for an intermediate rider.

Tentatively planning to board in New Albany and train with eventing trainer, but that is not firm yet. If you have your own ideas about boarding/training within one hour of OSU, try me.

Riderless Ponies and Horses

I am always looking for good riding pony jocks. I have several, usually green, but very Fancy ponies that need riding/showing. Must be willing to help out on the farm. We show the A circuit but like to start the younger ones out locally.

Where are you?

ditto, where are you located? i’m 23, but i fit nicely on mediums and larges, so could do some schooling.

Here’s my situation…It’s a bit of a longshot but there’s always hope. I am from Canada and show on the A circuit in the jumpers and big eq. …
Ideally I would love to find a horse I could jump/take lessons on (I’d be willing to pay a lease fee and/or pay for lessons), but as I will be “horseless” in the truest sense of the word while I’m at school I would also be content just to flat…I would really just like to be able to continue riding and be around horses! I’d be more than happy to do stalls/clean tack/groom/set jumps/help out otherwise on weekends in exchange for riding.

I’m a quiet and competent rider with extensive show experience (have done WEF for the past 5 years, etc) and can provide references/videos/pictures/results etc. to anyone who might have a horse(s) available for me to ride. I am going to school about 45 minutes South of Boston and 30 minutes NE of Providence and will have my car at school so anything within an hour to hour-and-a-half drive would be feasible.

I am most desperate to ride before medal finals but would also entertain a more long-term set-up if something became available. I know it’s a bit of a stretch but any help would be greatly appreciated!
I can be reached via PM or by email at small.junior.hunter@gmail.com
Thanks![/QUOTE]

Horseless rider in Cleveland, OH

Hi all. Horseless rider in Cleveland, OH. I’ve been taking english riding lessons once a week for about 7 years now. Riding schoolies has taught me a lot and given me exposure to many different horsey personalities, but constantly switching horses and having to learn new quirks n such all the time means I don’t always get a chance to get comfortable enough on one horse to really work on my own quirks! I’m 29 and 5’7", looking for some more saddle time so I can become a better rider!

I’ve posted on here before -

I currently am doing husbandry on Sundays for a BO near me, but at the moment she hasn’t had the farrier out in over a month and the horse I was riding lost both his back shoes and is growing over the fronts - due to liability, obv i’m not going to ride him until this is fixed.

In the meantime and even after - I’d like to find something I could possibly free-lease or just exercise -

I’m 24 & 5’10 so nothing under 15hh please - located near Ocean City, MD (I dont want to travel more than a 1/2 hr to any prospect barn please) - have been riding since I was 3 - showing since 10 in WP/H-J - I had a great paint last year that I was doing local gaming with until I sold him for the BO and the horses I’m working with now are all primarily english, so I am extremely well rounded in riding -

I really would like to take some Dressage lessons to help myself as well as get whatever horse it was into shape - if the BO ever gets the horse I was riding to a farrier, I’d do it with him -

Horseless Rider Fairfield Co. CT

Experienced rider looking for more saddle time - 20 years of eventing and dressage, have recently worked more with H/J/Eq horses. I’m comfortable working with young horses, green horses, maintaining experienced horses, bringing older horses back into work, dealing with problem horses, getting horses prepped for sale, hacking out, etc. Emphasis on correct and consistent flatwork, tactful seat and hands.

Rider available in SW Michigan

Hi,

I’m a horseless rider in SW Michigan. I live in the Three Rivers area, but I will be teaching at Grand Valley State in Grand Rapids come fall, so I will driving up 131. A horse near Grand Rapids, MI or near Three Rivers or Schoolcraft would be great. I’m an adult with training experience in jumpers (Modified 4’), Eventing (Training Level) and Dressage (second level). My TB of 15 years died this year and I’m not ready to buy, but I’d love to help a riderless horse out! I particularly like working with horses on dressage and I’m a very sensitive rider with experience on Morgans, Off-the-track TBs, and Arabs. I’m also small (5’3, 125lbs) so I can ride ponies. I enjoy a challenge so I like helping hot or nervous horses relax and move over their backs. Please PM me if you have a horse sitting around who could use some exercise and dressage and/or jumping work!

Long shot.

I have just moved to the New Tampa area in Florida. I have found a barn but would like to try to ride/meet up with fellow riders in the area. Like to trail ride/split expenses if someone has an extra pony or horse. Trailer rider/show groom willing to do anything to ride or meet up with fellow friends.

Still looking for someone who might want a ride near East Lansing, MI. Steady eddy mare, great trail horse (or roads), low level dressage, low level jumping. She’s 18, sound, sane, and needs more consistent exercise as she’s IR and I’m just not getting to the barn as often as I’d like.

Nice indoor, outdoor, trails, dirt roads nearby.

Hi all… we just relocated to Petersburg, VA and I am horseless again. If anyone is looking for a riding buddy in the area, please let me know - I am happy to share my experience, etc via PM. I am not working at the moment and am happy to pitch in with tack cleaning, stall cleaning, chores while you are on vacation, etc.

I am also a pretty good horse show groom so if you’d like a buddy to go along when you show, let me know. Primarily interested in hunters/eventing.

College Student searching for a horse

I’m currently in college right now so money is tight. I’m also not around enough to own a horse because I don’t want to buy a horse and not have enough time for it. For 3 months out of the year I live at home in Raleigh NC and the rest of the time I live in Mars Hill NC. If anyone knows someone or has any horses that they need ridden I would love to come out and ride. I have been riding since I was 10 and have trained two of my own. Please let me know, I’m missing the horses :frowning:

Riderless Horse near Fredericksburg, VA

I have a TB gelding that needs to be ridden. I am starting some youngsters and my older guy is left with nothing to do. He is a 15.3h 16yo TB gelding. He has been used for Pony Club and 4H in the past. He is very responsive and loves to jump. Is calm inside and outside the ring. I would just like someone to enjoy him while I am busy with my other horses. Please PM for pictures and more information.
