riderless horses and horseless riders?

Horseless rider in Northern Virginia

I lost my horse a year ago due to a broken leg. I am still riding and training on a good friends horse and completing Training Level. Tied for high point at our last Dressage Show. (68 T-4) Looking for a horse to buy/lease/free) to be competitive in Dressage and/or eventing. Own everything and have a stall ready for a horse at a barn in Nokesville, VA. Also have truck and trailer. Lessons with a trainer 1 to 2 times a week. If you have a horse that might fit please contact me. Don’t have a lot of money to spend due to loss of horse.

15 hand Appy mare just outside of Athens, Ga. I would love to find a rider for as she needs some attention and to get fitted up again. She is a school master- evented, shown dressage, hunters/jumpers, eq… taken several kids through their pony club C3 and B. I would eventually like to lease her out again but until that time I would love for someone to come ride her and bring her back into work. She is 15 years old and had a foal this spring so she will need to be brought back slowly. However, she is a ton of fun and has a lot to teach and is SAFE. Please PM for more information.[/QUOTE]

Hi! Sent you a pm.

HORSELESS IN MENOMONIE WI (NEAR EAU CLAIRE)

I just moved to Menomonie, WI from MA for grad school and I’m looking for a horse to ride. Doesn’t have to be anything fancy, and english or western is fine. I’ve been riding for 20 years, mostly english (dressage/jumping). Mostly I’m looking for a horse to hack once or twice a week, would prefer to trail ride but ring work is ok too. Please PM or email me! Any size/breed/age ok. References available if you want them.

Riderless horses in Gainesville, FL

I will be leaving to ride for Tim Stockdale in September for 6 months which leaves my performance horses without a rider except for my trainer who will be coming 3x a week. I would be interested in finding someone who has excellent flat work (jumping optional) to come out and keep them in shape 2-3 times a week. Please email for more details.

Rider Available - Pittsburgh, PA

I have been riding hunter/jumper for 15 years. My mare is currently retired. I am just looking to offer some help for anyone in the area. I could ride 1 or 2 days during the week and weekends. I have a lot of experience with OTTB’s and ponies. I also have a passion for rehab work…brining them back from injury. I’m 25, 5’4", 110lbs. If you need an extra hand this fall/winter let me know! I’d be happy to travel a little on the weekends too.

Horseless Rider NC (Raleigh and Surrounding Area)

I’ve been out of the saddle for about 10 years and am looking into getting back to “the life”. My schooling as a child was on hot TB’s in hunterseat and equitation…then I made the switch over to warmbloods as I got older because I needed the extra height (I’m 6’0…dad always said I was going to grow up to be a John Wayne of a woman). I’ve got a long and lean tight leg, soft hands and a soft seat. If you’re close to the area and need some additional riding time I would be happy to help you out. I’m a hunter gal but I dont oppose western if you have a good QH that needs to be hacked around on. Since I have been away from it for so long I am just looking to regain some confidence in the seat and make some new friends…so much has changed in only 10 years around here. Shoot me a pm if you want to try to work something out. I have all of my own tack but would probably need to use a girth…If western, you would need to supply your own tack and saddle.

I’m in Raleigh and would be able to ride a couple of times during the week if you are close by, if not…it would have to be a weekend deal. I love that good footing in Southern Pines

MZW You have a PM

I have a possible situation for you.

looking for a rider for an 8 yo 14.2 big bodied sport type Fjord gelding in Beecher, IL (45 mins south of the Loop) . Can carry a bigger rider, don’t be afraid to respond if that’s you! Solid W/T/C jumps, very nice boy. Needs an intermediate rider as he can be a bully. ( my 12 yo rides him fine) . Please pm here or email at agiudice@comcast.net. I don’t have time for two horses right now. Pick your days. Has his own tack. Quiet barn, large outdoor and good size indoor arena. Ride him, lesson on him, show him…fun horse.

As I am moving to TN, I would love to find someone who would enjoy my mare. She is very sweet and well-trained,evented through novice and loves dressage. She is very easy to do dressage with–lovely mover, concentrates, snaffle mouth, naturally t…hrough and on the bit. Can get hot xc and sometimes jumping in the ring. So she is a free lease (pay her expenses)and best use would be as a dressage horse . Pictures of her on our web site,www.laurelsforge.com

Rochester, NY east side

2 younger horse W.T.C under saddle for one, shown 1st level for the other. I have 30 acres no indoor. Might consider an off farm for the right situation. I just don’t have the time to keep both going to the level they deserve. Email me lets talk

You’d be welcome to post in these Yahoo groups to look for someone to lease her. It’s moderated to protect from SPAM so when I see who you are, when you post I’ll change your setting and allow the post.

Riderless horse in Lexington, KY

I have a 14.2hh petite arabian cross that is looking for a small but confident rider. He carries me around (5’6" and chubby) but I think that he would be happier with someone a bit more his size. He is well broke, can do Training/First Level dressage and with the right rider could probably dabble in BN eventing. He can easily jump 2’6" with me on him, could probably go higher with a smaller rider. He has schooled XC and is honest as the day is long. Trail rides in a group or alone. Has no vices other than occasional spooking (he is arab after all!) but does not buck, rear, bolt, bite, or kick. Very easy and fun ride for the right person! PM me if interested.

Anyone in N central Arkansas? I have a BUNCH of riderless horses. My rider moved to Colorado. Must be good enough to stick through the bumps, because I’m pretty sure there will be some. Couple TB’s and the rest Arabians.

Riderless pony in Northern Virginia - Purcellville

Big bodied medium pony 13.1 7/8, 5 yrs old searching for committed rider with enough skill to show pony locally and move on to A shows if they want. He doesn’t need to be ridden every day or show every weekend - I would like to find a rider who can enjoy him. Currently showing and is typically reserve or champion. Has his lead changes, wins the hack, always jumps well with his knees, and is quiet and easy.

Training with your trainer is fine or can provide to a child. He’s a special pony looking for a match.

Can provide trailering to shows or during the week to trainer and some groom support.
